You guys got it wrong. Ishida is not a pure-blooded Quincy. Ryuken is. Ishida is a Gemischt Quincy, which is why he was subjected to Yhwach‘s Auswählen, but he survived. Because Ishida survived the Auswählen, he‘s called the last surviving Quincy because he’s the only impure Quincy to still be alive (not counting Ichigo). Kubo did confirm in Klub Outside that Quincies go somewhere else when they die.

you shouldn't look at "the last" quincy in the sense of being the "only remaining" quincy but much more like the "last quincy to appear/the youngest". Like if you got 5 older siblings you would be the last one of the batch.

There seems to be a lot of confusion around this, "The last Quincy" refers to the only one to survive the Auswählen. The Auswählen selected impure Quincies (Ishida's mother wasn't a pureblood [Echt Quincy]) so Ishida isn't a pureblood either, but he survived that selection. Ishida's father wasn't targeted since he is a Echt Quincy, nor was his grandfather. Ichigo's mother was targeted because she was infected by the hollow making her no longer of pureblood.

A few notes to clear the confusion ya'll: You said that face of young Yuha looked like Tsukishima but you've actually already seen it before. The face resembles Tensa Zangetsu. That's right. Ichigo was training for final getsuga tensho with his zanpakuto spirit resembling young Yuha Bach. Contrary to what some people say (and yes I know technically all Quincy are cousins yeah yeah) Masaki is not closely related to Ryuuken. She was lying to her friends to cover up her living situation of being taken in and probably to keep her Quincy status on the low as well as to keep her friends from bugging Ryuuken... She was adopted into the Ishida family since all of the Kurosaki family had died. Ryuuken is echt (pure) while Katagiri was not. Therefore Uryuu is not pure. He is mixed (Gemischt) He is the last Quincy to survive, not the only Quincy to survive. Timeline: 1000 years ago Yamamoto vs Juha; OG Gotei 13 vs Quincy army...Quincies lost 200 years ago Quincy Genocide; Remaining Quincy hide in Schatten Bereich (shadow dimension, they lived in Wandenreich, their hidden empire) 9 years ago Auswhalen conducted by Yuha outside of Wandenreich; All remaining impure Quincy on Earth died except for Uryuu Regarding Ichigo not being able to return to the living world: I wouldn't put too much stock into it. After all Kyoraku said the chances of that happening are really slim. But I gotta praise that scene because I feel like it's so underrated. To me, it was a special moment. Kyoraku honors Ichigo and his friends that even for such an unlikely scenario he personally came to the living world to speak to his friends and let them know what's going on and make sure they're straight. Yamamoto would've never done this. This moment highlights how different Shunsui is as a leader than Yama. It gives depth to Shunsui's character. Another thing nobody talks about is how Keigo was portrayed in this scene. It may be minor but he seemed to be more mature and I think it's great character development to see him go from the desperate guy wanting to hang out with Ichigo all the time to the guy who genuinely cares for his friend being caught up in a mess. He actually had the balls to almost punch Kyoraku out of anger. Again, underrated moment.
