They should have explained if Gremmy could give Zaraki cookie treatment or not. People slandered Gremmy saying he was stupid for not even trying that. Rightfully so, I wonder too. Edit: Although there are hints that he couldn't do everything he imagined. Most importantly, "your body is strong enough to contain that power but I couldn't contain it in my imagined body." I still think he could done cookie thing to Zaraki. He didnt as he took on the challenge when Zaraki said "nothing you can create I can't cut".

I think the ability was lost on the user. I think for example if Mayuri had this insane ability he would have probably beat Kenpachi. But Gremmy despite being broken could not see himself beating Kenpachi. He literally got the worst possible opponent. Gremmy is probably one of the strongest Bleach characters to date, only limited by what he can imagine

Not at all. Mayuri is the type of guy who imagines many possibilities when fighting, as he would need to conjure up things to counter his opponent. If he gets Gremmy's power, things would only get convoluted, which would ultimately result in his own death. No one apart from Gremmy himself could have used that power.

Kenny is doing to Gremmy what Unohana did to him in their fight. Gremmy's imagination was limited by his worldview due to his upbringing. Kenny helped to break that shackle, which is why Gremmy decided to fight Kenny in the manner that he did. As for the logic behind it, I think Gremmy would not have been able to do so. While Kenny did go back to the way he was, he still was suppressing himself by matching his reiatsu to Gremmy while also having the eye-patch on. Hax would not work on him, as Kenny can simply negate it.

Sometimes I think people get too focused on the logical aspect of fights that they forget the nuances behind what is happening. I don't think anyone else could have commanded the power of imagination the same way that Gremmy did. People often call Gremmy dumb and say characters like Urahara could have done much better with that power. That's simply not true, as Kisuke is the type of guy to think of a multitude of things before acting. Meaning it would only have been convoluted by his power of imagination, resulting in his own death. While I like this episode, I think the manga was better. There was quite a lot of cut content compared to the manga. We got to know how Gremmy's powers were so terrifying that he was locked in a cage by Yhwach. That explains how his worldview was so limited and how Kenny opened his eyes to break free of that shackle. Not to mention, it also shows how flawed fascism is, considering how Gremmy represents those who could not see a world without their ideologies. Fascism is flawed in the sense that it can't seem to see a world where it can co-exist with other viewpoints. It is highlighted by a simple thing, such as Gremmy's child form. Gremmy could not imagine himself being full of experience and had to use a child's body to function. Furthermore, when Gremmy conjured up the meteor, the whole battle that was going on stopped in fear of the meteor. That really sold the scale of what was going on. We got to know the reaction of several Sternritters because of it. As for the imagination powers itself, I think it has authorial intent, making it so META. In my opinion, Kubo was trying to tell the readers that he loved the competitive nature between mangakas when writing a story. It adds another layer to this fight on top of the stuff that I mentioned above. Another layer would be how Gremmy could be committing blasphemy here. The power to create is reserved for God (Yhwach), but Gremmy still does it because of the nature of what his power is. And we know what happens when one commits blasphemy, which also explains Gremmy's defeat. Gremmy was the real Sternritter V. Gwaenael was just a fake stand-in. I also love how Kenny's Nozarashi looks like OG Zangetsu with his own twist on it. Ichigo was the one who changed his worldview in the Soul Society arc. And it would only be perfect for Kenny to have a release like the one who helped him in the first place.

Gremmy quite literally could not see himself beating kenpachi plus I think he cut his life short at the end by imagining himself dying, there’s many more ways that he could’ve kept himself in the fight without me reaching for scenarios, where only a genius would come up with, and I understand why his character was written that way, it makes sense from his backstory and how he’s been kept away from interacting with people and the outside world I’m just saying that his power was extremely limited because of his imagination lol it goes without saying (theoretically he could’ve literally just trained Kenny blood to zero, but that’s why I felt like kubo should’ve went deeper with the sternritter powers in general, a lot of them feel godly with not much limitation but I think Gremmy’s power was the most ridiculous thing that kubo presented that needed limitation because now people can come up with so many hypotheticals that aren’t really out of the question, but tbf that’s probably kubo’s intentions lol)

"Gremmy quite literally could not see himself beating kenpachi" That is something I kept reading on reddit long ago and after seeing the anime adaptation, I did not feel that. At least at the start. He after seeing Zaraki breaking through his creations perhaps gave him the impression that Zaraki cant be beaten BUT Gremmy cleared it up that I didn't lose cuz I imagined you as a monster. It was my body's durability that fell short in the end.

I just find that he underused his ability immensely to the point that he convinced himself that the only way to beat kenny was to obtain his strength and power essentially, im just saying he isn’t the brightest

He didn’t even try to imagine him having bones made out of cookies bro, he did that to yachiru not kenny and there’s much more that could’ve taken kenny out, let’s not be obtuse here

I mean... I said he couldn't do that to Zaraki. Cookie thing. I don't know, it's due to a stupid limitation he put on himself. He blocked Yachiru's punch and then twisted it while imagining it's made of cookies to start the cookie attack. He stayed adamant on not lifting a finger on Zaraki and using only his brain. So... He couldnt defeat Zaraki cuz he chose to fight him only using external things to kill him. Out of new ego feeling he had facing him. Assumably, he couldn't use the cookie attack on him cuz that requires concentration and some weird potential restrictions. He could imagine Kensei and Rose dead but they were easy to kill in their condition. There are limitations on his abilities left vague.

Yeah, I was gonna write a few things as well, but thankfully Castiel was already on it. Also just to point out that everything surrounding Kenpachi and Unohana is about Purity and the loss of inocence. In all of his fights, tend to get pretty hot and heavy, but they always revolve around s3x in a way. Even when Unohana says her sin is that she robbed him of his innocence and will to fight.

Accidentally pressed enter, oops. Kenpachi is stuck in a boy-ish state forever and his power-up is due to him finally overcoming trauma, killing "the culprit", while cleansing both souls. That's why I find it even more fitting that his release command is "Drink", other than "Cut" or "Slash". As this is a sign of him reaching maturity! Meanwhile Yachiru....
