I don't even think it's a new source cause the subs were like this several episodes ago when they introduced the quincy girls. it's just garbage localizers being used. it can't be helped cause there's no other paid source for JD to use.

This episode actually showed everyone what Renji was really capable of. In the manga, he only got his fight against James and Mask de Masculine. So we got the big reveal of his true bankai and he only really used one move. This original fight finally showcased his range of abilities which honestly make his bankai WAY cooler than it seemed previously. Even though he takes the L in the end, it doesn’t even feel like a loss on Renji’s part. He fought like a champ.
