Can cyberpsychosis happen to anyone? Yes, as long as you have an upgrade. Here's an interesting lore bit though. Apparently, women are less susceptible to it. The source material creator, Mike Pondsmith, also likened it to roid rage. Not all steroid users will have it, but others will. It's kind of a tolerance thing. Others can drink more before getting drunk, others get drunk with just a few shots of liquor. From your discussion I think you also hit on a good point. It happens so fast. Almost randomly. So I think it can also be likened to a sickness. Like us modern day people, we might feel fine with years of consuming unhealthy drinks and snacks, but one day we can just wake up feeling the effects of it. A lot of symptoms don't happen gradually. They can suddenly appear.

You're doing really well following the story, so don't worry much. I get that a lot of things are confusing because of the unfamiliar terms especially and things happen fast, but you're actually doing better than many reactors when it comes to understanding what's happening.
