Gaban actually had quite a decent amount of screen time in Oden's flashback (where also his name was first mentioned) and he briefly appeared in God Valley flashback. In the manga Rayleigh and Gaban made first appearance in chapter 19 (Shanks and Buggy flashback), but anime sadly combined them into one person, which had Rayleigh's beard and Gaban's eye glasses and black hair lol. Happy that you finally got introduced to him! I love his jazz theme, it's so classy and a nice parallel to Sanji's one.

Wotan was in long ring long land (big pan who is half fishman half giant), and long limb necks were in whole cake island fighting luffy as members of the enraged army. Oda explained dosunduda in sbs, it’s not in the main series. The only named dosundada is charlotte normande and their hybrid race is human/dwarf(chapter 845/episode 809) The world government could be hunting them down. Or it could be because of discriminatory people like rodo, who told zoro that even someone like hajrudin’s blood is tainted, with his reasoning being because his mother isn’t from elbaf. Btw the anime has a weird translation for that episode, in the manga it said king harald himself was an ancient giant (oars bloodline), so by extension loki is aswell. These racial additions are a key world building element. Rodo feels like hajrudin, who is a full giant, is lesser. So imagine what giants like rodo think of a half human like colun. Not only is his father gaban not from elbaf, but human aswell, who rodo sees as inferior too. Ex: “Hajrudin wanted us new giant warrior pirates to serve you!!! Elbaf’s strongest warriors don’t follow puny humans, hasn’t he got a shred of pride?! Just look at your small, frail body…”-Rodo 😂but he can’t do anything, because gaban would kill him.

There was an episode from Oden’s flashback that highlighted Gaban a bit. I believe it was Episode 966. I saw your episode reaction so I’m sure you watched it. Remember when Oden went to steal food to make “Oden”(the hot pot) for Roger’s crew? The meal when Nekomamushi can’t stop burning his tongue? Gaban scolded Oden not to steal from civilians but then was ambushed by bad guys. Gaban, Shanks and Buggy were all there fighting alongside Oden. For a moment they thought Oden was dead but he came back fine. Gaban Shanks and Buggy laughed sooo hard. It was a wholesome bonding moment. Sadly it’s not canon just anime original.

Devi is cooking with the theory of ex-Roger's pirates being stationed at certain locations waiting for the next Joyboy, even if it wasn't fully planned collectively, but was just fate at play. It just makes so much sense, Crocus at Twin Capes - the start of Grand Line, Rayleigh at Sabaody - entrance to the New World, then Gaban at Elbaf - the final stretch of the whole Grand Line. It might not be true but it's just been a personal theory I've liked for a long time.
