MajinVegeta420

Meant to say this last movie but your end discussion was so entertaining as always. Your discussions and theories and questions about Gollum and Bilbo was so good and made/makes me need you to see the hobbit movies so badly lol. Cant wait to get home from work and watch this been waiting/looking forward to this.

Astor Lefflinker

Just by their reaction to seeing Gollum I already know that the rest of the reaction is gonna be great lol

Patch

You guys just made my day let’s goooooo

PG Modehouse

yessss! been eagerly waiting for this

Ken Lang

There are plenty behind the scenes videos on youtube for all 3 movies. I wouldn't watch them until you see the last movie.

CaptainCameron

Aragorn and Arwen are like the OG Himmel and Frieren

Sam's speech is so briming with hope and positivity. You rarely get monologues like that in modern movies, unfortunately. So sincere, it resonates with your soul and truly makes you believe in the future of humanity and the world. That and Gandalf's charge down the mountain, with that enchanted soundtrack, always get me emotionally.

BreadCEO

just finished my Exams for this Semester, lovely timing

Astor Lefflinker

Devi crying at the scene where the Rohirrim is charging and then during Sam's speech. I already know the reaction to the 3rd movie will be so good. Also yes, Gandalf brings in hope which shows amazing directing because the audience just feels it like you said and the movie didnt have to spell it out. Because in the lore, Gandalf has the ring called Narya which is the ring of fire and it inspires hope and courage to people around him.

Astor Lefflinker

Btw the actor playing Smeagol - Andy Serkis, also did the motion capture. And I think one of the reasons why you like Smeagol so much is because Andy Serkis based Smeagol's voice on his pet cat. Possibly some of the character's behavior or mannerisms too.

WanderingBecauseLostLol

Wait so Sarumon scolded Gandalf last movie over his weed smoking and now Merry and Pippin find multiple barrels of it in Saru's pantry? 🤣🤣

dWr

ye man, i will never get over the speech by sam

dWr

already looking forward to the drop of the return of the king :)

Arhanel

Simply epic

KittensandMotorcycles

Imagine being one of the random people overhearing Legolas and Aragorn talking heatedly and Aragorn yells "THEN I SHALL DIE AS ONE OF THEM!!" 💀😭🤣

Mad Man Moon

I was gonna wait and watch this on the weekend after rewatching the 1st reaction....but screw it, I'm gonna watch it now. I'll rewatch both this weekend lol!

Mad Man Moon

Fun fact: when Aragorn kicked the helmet (36:30-ish), Viggo actually broke his toe, so the scream was entirely genuine, and they kept it in the final cut lol. (Sorry if anyone else mentioned this. I skimmed comments but didn't see it yet.)

Mad Man Moon

Frodo: "I have to believe he can come back" - that line always hits me...Frodo knows what the ring is doing to him, so that line is his own hope for himself. He doesn't want to write Gollum (or rather Smeagol) off as a lost cause, when he knows the ring is doing the same thing to him the longer he keeps it.

choom

If you want a little more insight into Smeagol's story, the first song that plays in the end credits is about him and the tragedy of his life. It's not explicit, but it gives a lot of context to his behaviour. it's called Gollum's Song - Emilíana Torrini

Sorenman1

Never actually thought about it lol

PG Modehouse

16:05 it looks like they're drinking Jägermeister 🤣

PG Modehouse

Remember what Gandalf said to Frodo about Bilbo sparing Gollum, "Do not be so quick to deal out death and judgement, for even the very wise cannot see all ends." The same applies to Grima, someone whose will has been twisted under Saruman's influence.

PG Modehouse

i always crack up when Saruman goes: Gaandalf the HWITE? Gaandalf the PHOOL!

ViceKnightTA

Omg i cant wait to watchhhhhh....this weekend gonna be epic

Mahti

Mandatory comment about how when Aragorn kicks the helmet and screams when they think Merry and Pippin were burned in the pile of orcs. The actor broke his big toe kicking that helmet and they kept it in. Also have to comment on how god like LOTR music is, the best music in any movie ever. I could just listen to the soundtracks and tear up with goosebumps

Mad Man Moon

*to be clear, it's not Sauron's Lettuce/Shire Spinach/Merriadoc Jane - Pipeweed is tobacco (or a tobacco analog). Tolkien has said it is "a variety probably of Nicotiana". We also apparently hear a lot about pipeweed lore - Merry eventually wrote an entire treatise on pipeweed and the Hobbits' smoking culture. But aside from the nitty-gritty, you are 100% correct - Saruman was a nasty hypocrite: confirmed!

TaLy___

I cannot see that scene in different way xD

Bleach10

I’m itching for the return of the king guys

Marcos

The main reason that Smeagol gets treated so badly is because he's made a reputation as Gollum. He's lived a long time, and because the ring's corruption is purely evil from Sauron's essence, he's a dark and dangerous creature. So people who are in the know are aware that he's become this little rogue monster that's been consumed by evil. He just isn't interested in world domination like Sauron is.
