"My friends, you bow to no one" and "i cant carry it for you, but i can carry you" hits hard 😭 This truly was the greatest trilogy ever made.. and will remain so 🙏

Danny Kost

This my all time favorite trilogy so glad you reacted to this!

Ken Lang

To answer your question of how Eowyn was "dead". She suffered injuries from the Witch King's morgul power. Morgul magic when touched, progresses decay, opposite of light. Merry also suffered recoil morgul damage to his hand after stabbing the Witch King. It's the same morgul power that the Witch King pierced Frodo with in the first movie. It never truly healed, that's why he had to leave to Valinor to obtain peace and healing from mental and physical wounds that remained.

I kid you not.. just when the spider scene came, a damn spider ran across my floor. Had to go on a spider hunt myself. Minus a cool sword. 😂

THERE MAY COME A DAY WHEN THE COURAGE OF MAN FAILS, BUT IT IS NOT THIS DAY. THIS DAY WE FIGHT!

loved it 😍

This film is the perfect way to cap off the trilogy. Something amazing or chilling or moving is happening like every three minutes.

Once every year, sometime during the Christmas holidays, my cousins and I get together and watch all three extended edition films back to back. It's become a tradition we've kept for the past 15 years.

There's a theory that Gandalf brought a third eagle, just in case Smeagol had somehow lived. After the destruction of the ring, maybe there could be a way for him to find some peace before age catches up and he dies.

There is a very famous meme that Sam and Aragorn alone are 99% of the fellowship at full strength and now you understand why 😂

I do think the Rohirrim charge is the most epic moment in cinematic history. Goosebumps every time, even my eyes swelter up. Doesn't matter how many times I've seen it.

Mad Man Moon

I loved watching this with you guys! Thanks for watching it, and I'm so glad you loved it. I do a rewatch every year, and this time was fun because it almost felt like the first time I watched it again, with you guys reacting and learning the story!

A fun fact for movie only fans. Essentially In the end of the movie Bilbo and Frodo are invited to join the Elves to Valinor also known as the Undying Lands, they receive this honor as former ring bearers in order to find peace and spiritual healing. Some years later, after his wife passes away, Sam goes to join them and reunite with Frodo as he was shortly but definitely the last of the Ring Bearer's himself while in Mordor. Another wholesome note is that years later when King Aragorn dies, Legolas decides to leave the Middle Earth and move to Valinor , he then makes an unprecedented exception, he brings his closest friend Gimli the dwarf with him, never before or after was a dwarf allowed to enter the Valinor. That rivarly evolved into one of the deepest friendships of the books.

So glad you watched this!!!! and loved that you loved it!

That's awesome! If that's what was written in the books that's really cool. I wish they made an end-credits scene about this. Or retconned it into The Hobbit.

David Romero

Now is time for thr hobbits haha,

David Romero

Now is the time for the hobbits ahah. What a great trilogy

There’s so so much you can say about this movie or the whole journey, especially at the end. All I will say is that yes, this trilogy is easily one of the most rewatchable stories. It truly never gets old.

Some cool tidbits and changes from the books(Simarillion and The Hobbit included), so spoilers ahead for any prospective readers: Sam gets to join Frodo after his wife Rosie passes away, and he too gets to journey to Valinor, the land of the Valar which are effectively upper tier Gods/Archangels to the creator god, who is Eru Iluvatar. Sauron is a maiar, lower tier angels/demi/lower tier-gods, the same as Gandalf, Saruman, the other wizards, and the Balrogs(the fire demon you see in the 1st movie). Sauron isn't actually the biggest bad in the verse. That actually belongs to Melkor, eventually Morgoth, the strongest of the Valar, who eventually shunned eru Iluvatar, corrupted the song of creation of the Ainur, and effectively became this worlds version of Lucifer. But he was defeated at the end of the first age and imprisoned, thrown into the Void of Night, by the Valar and Eru, to possibly return during Dagor Dagurath, this world's version of the End Times (though, that is heavily disputed since Tolkien kind of backtracked on that). Morgoth was the one that corrupted Sauron, the strongest of the Maiar, and created things like Dragons and the Orcs, but he also created werewolves, a vampire, and other creatures that you do not see in the movies. The Elves by this point were fairly weaker than the Elves of the first generation of Arda, while Galadriel is a second generation elf who saw the light of the two trees in the beginning of time, she might be the strongest elf in middle earth at the moment, though Glorfindel, who you do not see in the movies but you do in the books (he's the one that saves Frodo from the Nazgul from weathertop), is also in middle earth and possibly stronger, but he does not join the Fellowship because it is said his soul is so bright that Sauron would be able to see his approach from afar, and that the Nazgul fear him deeply. The end of the Lord of the Rings is also different because Saruman actually attacks the Shire with Grima Wormtongue and this is called the Sundering of the Shire, and the hobbits actually save the shire. Mary and Pippin become very important people, if I remember correctly, one becomes the mayor of the Shire, and the other becomes the Lord of Buckland. Upon both passing away, they get entombed in Minas Tirith alongside King Elessar (This is Aragorn's name upon being crowned king). Aragorn still fights and leads campaigns and helps men expand their dominion, and tries to gain better relations with the Easterlings and men that live much further south during his time as king. Gimli and Legolas do have their own responsibilities, like Gimli retakes Moria and turns it back into a Dwarven Kingdom, but then him and Legolas go on adventures until it is time for Legolas to journey into the west, to Valinor, and Gimli is invited by the Valar to be the only dwarf in the history of middle earth to be invited. Also, you can't just sail west to get to Valinor. At one time you could, but upon corruption of the men of Numenor(Isildur and his men, and Aragorn are Descended from them), Eru Iluvatar floods the island of Numenor, and physically moves Valinor from the physical space of Arda, and makes the world round.

Pls pls pls watch the Hobbit next (prequel and Bilbo's story)

I feel that it is unexpectedly poetic that Gollum was THE one who caused(unintentionally of course) the ring to fall down to the lava. Considering how Gandalf foreshadowed that he felt Gollum would have "some part to play yet, for good or ill, before the end". Even the strongest will of Frodo wavered and actually failed but Golum of all people "saved" mid-earth.

At the end, those kids were Sean Austin(Sams Actor) real kids. It's also neat but Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, and the Balrog were all the same level of spiritual being. They were the maiar, and servants of the Valar. Sauron is the second dark lord, his master, Morgoth, formerly Melkor, was the strongest Valar, and he is effectively this worlds version of Lucifer who betrayed Eru Illuvatar, this lores version of God. Though the thing is, Lord of the rings and the land of Arda is a history that eventually leads to the modern day. Right now Morgoth was defeated at the end of the war of wrath at the end of the first age, thousands of years before this and destroyed a huge part of Arda, and he is currently imprisoned through the door to night into the void and he is supposedly going to return at the end times during Dagor Dagurath and upon his defeat, Eru Illuvatar, the Valar, Maiar, all men both current and past and maybe the elves do the second song of creation and use their living struggles to make an even more vibrant world than before. The ending is also different from the book. Saruman and Grima live until after the destruction of the one ring and the minimalizing of the spirit of Sauron. He goes into the Shire and causes the sundering of the shire, and its up to our hobbits who have braved the world and their journey to culminate with protecting their home, which they do. Aragorn, or King Elessar, lives for something like 140 years after this because his line is part elf and he can decide when to die, and he eventually dies. Mary and Pippin are actually laid to rest in the hall of kings before King Elessar passes away, something like 50-60 years before this. They both did wonderful things for the Shire and other halfling places.
