Remember when you guys said "well what is goku gonna do for the rest of the show if him and master roshi are the only strong people", This is another case showing you that alot of people in the dragon ball world either were busy or consider themslves above the tournament, Like blue would of been good in the tournament, clearly tao would of been as well. One thing about the master roshi fight is technically its not like roshi was fighting to kill goku he was just fighting to teach him and make him grow stronger. So even if lets say Roshi is hypothetically the strongest man under the sun, The gap between him and goku at this point is much larger than their tournament match makes it seem imo

If not for the moon feat I would have Tao at this point in the series stronger than Roshi. I legitimately believe Goku and Roshi were evenly matched at the tournament and Roshi wasn't holding back and starting to panic near the end. Just my impression 😂

My memory of this fight for some reason was Tao poked through Blue's temple with his finger, I forgot it was his tongue wth 😂

I mean but fighting to win a tournament vs your pupil vs fighting to kill is different things, if Roshi was fighting to kill he would of went about it different. It only looked even because Roshi is a good guy. Roshis buff mode full power kamahamaha would of incinerated goku

I love Tao as a villain. He’s the first real threat Goku faces and he introduces a lot of things that pay off big down the line. Still one of my favourite OG antagonists. Also RIP Blue. Died as he lived. With another man tonguing him

Not only that, there are a couple other things to consider with that fight. Roshi only needed to go max power kamehameha because Goku inadvertently went ape. Roshi was also pretty clearly underestimating Goku all throughout the fight, which did him no favours. I agree there was still a pretty big gap between Roshi and Goku in the 21st, especially since Roshi has a much better showing against a stronger opponent down the line

also roshi put like all his power into the kamehameha wave to destroy the moon then it became a "equal" fight and roshi still won.

Yup people think Roshi taking it easy on Goku and then using all his energy to blow up the moon means Goku and him were equal , they weren’t. If Roshi went into the fight saying “I’m going to kill Goku” it would of went differently
