its so weird how fast things get accomplished in dragon ball, especially early on. Even tho dragon ball z ushered in the more 90s to 2010s style anime of slower build up and amazing cathartic release. While early dragon ball shit just happens in a ton of other anime getting the final dragon ball would of taken 6 episodes, but goku did it in 1

I like them a lot personally. Helps fill out Goku’s training and adds a lot of that adventure aspect to his life. And having an episode directly inspired by an arc in Journey to the West is a really cool thing for Goku to get

it was stated in the daizenshou the dragon ball (dragon ball data books that are cannon) he was born in the year 715 and the first episode of dragon ball is year 749

i get why you did it because people foolishly say how good they are, but my personal opinion on them are they slow down the pacing of whats supposed to be a timeskip and then introduce characters before they are actually supposed to be introduced which toriyama didnt intend which is why i dislike these certain fillers, it just creates a longer wait for the actually phenomenal stuff which sucks
