Hello all! We're here at the finish line, and I've got two potential covers for you all to help me decide on!Take a look, let me know! Both are amazing pieces, and I'd be happy either way.

The El Bandito

2 is a better image, but I think 1 is a better book cover.

Drendude

I love the meteors in version 2

Lacika02

I vote Lun’kat. Both are nice

Kadi

1 seems more... "Asserting dominance"

Bubbles The Amoeba

Version 1 SCREAMS "Dragoneye Moons" Version 2 just goes hard as hell

Moses

2222222

I think for the book cover version 1 is better. It has greater detail, and i like the eyes are symmetrical, like someone staring down.

LuciferLilac

Version 1 is more 'majestic', but Version 2 is more dynamic and imposing. I feel it does a much better job showing the threat

SwitchBlaze

Both are good, but Version 1 feels more regal and almost disinterested while Version 2 feels more feral and aggressive.

Sparifankerl

Where's the little pyromaniac? She should be having a field day with all that dragon fire... ;-)

Cormac

Ooh, it's tight in the voting.

Niko

Version 2 looks more polished

ElecHertz

Both are good but ver2 looks better (to me)

While I think 1 demonstrates the "moons" better (they are what the book's title refers to after all), and the second perhaps shows off Lunkat's "ferocity" better, I feel like my honest answer is.... neither? For the entire novel, the people of the world have feared dragons to the point of not wanting to even speak their name, and those eyes are a constant reminder of their presence. I feel like a better association between the 2 dragoneye moons being Lunkat's, staring down with malice at what's to come, is important for this final book. Right now it feels more like "there's a dragon, there's the 2 dragoneye moons" and I don't really feel the "connection" between them, if that makes sense. That's about the most honest feedback I can provide, and ofc others may entirely disagree. Edit: To try put my opinion across more clearly: In each previous cover, it was an image of someone/something quite literally "beneath the dragoneye moons", as the novel implies. For this final cover, we just see a dragon under them. I feel as though this cover needs to show that he's not "beneath" them, but in fact, HE is the one behind their ominous presence, a demonstration of his power, that he's not just another small creature underneath them.

Dang realizing this is approaching the end...going to miss it when it's over.

Daniel Plomp

Both are good, but they each give a different impression. The first gives the impression Lun'kat is waiting to be confronted, dignified and utterly self-assured. The second gives the impression that Lun'kat is attempting to achieve a goal and needs to be stopped. I think the second version makes for the better story, which is why I prefer that one over the first.

Jonah Frazier

Version 2 just seems too spikey for me, I think version 1 shows a better regal illusionist dragon that believes all is beneath her, 2 is more wild but not as representative of what Lun'kat is.

Archer

I like the pose in 1 but the detail in 2.

Stropeyer

Very useful results so far for Selkie

Fulgurata

I think if I found them sitting on a wall somewhere, 2 would be my favorite, but something about 1 feels like it fits the books better.

Shafaragorn

I like the moon placement and the dragon itself better in version 1, but the dragon's pose looks off to me. I prefer version 2 overall I think, though I'm on the fence.

Callum Friend

1 is more behold me whereas 2 is more cataclysmic

Khal Lee

Nice covers both. . . I liked version with the whole dragon and curling tail as opposed to version 2 with the tail "off screen". But really, I feel a legion 6 and Elaine flying over in a witchy outfit with Iona hugging her from behind on a broomstick, Auri, and Fenrir would of been more of a match or that the next book?! Heh. I may have gotten my books mixed up, sorry. But anyways, a Legion 6 cover art!!! Gogogo! Obviously just my two cents. Finals are upto you but thanks for involving us!

PrometheusDarkflame

I like the tail from version 1 better but over all I prefer version 2.

Katja Doebelin

I like the tail from 1 and the lighting from 2. It makes it feel like her wings are lit by the moons she covers in illusion.

Keleros

Version 2 is the cooler one but I feel like the backdrop of the two moons from Version one works better, almost like she can see through the moons.

Malphir

I like version 2 as an art piece, but not as a cover. I feel like the more focused style of version 1 fits much better as a cover art. 2 has eye catching parts that drag the gaze around, but 1 has a more cohesive style that leads you to appreciate the image as a whole more. If it's an option, I would suggest having 1 as the cover and 2 as an art insert at the relevant point in the story. If you want to avoid doing something like that this late into the series when you haven't before, you could have the art displayed after the epilogue.

Markus

How involved will we be with the dragon in the final book. Will she actually take them serious? I could see a really epic image being if the dragon is facing directly against the reader. Flying between/ beneath the dragon eyes moons.

Markus

Currently the image looks like Lun'Kat is simply raiding a random place. If you take the first picture and have her face the reader it would look like she is actively targeting us. But that depends on what feeling you want the cover to have.
