Drawing shirtless men (Patreon)

As part of a community project, I had the incredible privilege of drawing men without shirts on.

Well, okay, a man, singular, but it was two drawings of him! So that counts twice!

(I love drawing humans, sob)

There's a popular game sequel out that you might have heard of, called Slay the Spire 2, that has been very well-received by its community. It's a stylistic Roguelike card game where you build up a deck into different synergies and fight your way through 3 chapters of monsters.

People are rabidly creating fanart and fan projects around the game and its silly characters. One of those projects is a mod that replaces all existing card artwork entirely with hand-drawn pieces made by members from the community: the artwork even covers up the title and description of the card, so you have to use the artwork and context clues to determine what each card is! People draw silly puns or mis-interpretations of each card; for example, a fighting card called "Strike" might have artwork of that character bowling and hitting a "strike".

A friend helped me grab 2 cards, and I've finished one to show you!

Just don't tell anyone what the pun is, okay? It's a secret! I don't even know when this part of the mod will be released.

The card is called "Burning Pact" -- so the double-pun is "burning + packed" or "burning pecs". My hubby drew the background; there's a sub-theme to the project where we are encouraged to reference indie games, so he's referencing 3 games in the background. Do you recognize them?

The card can be upgraded, and so we went even harder with the second piece of art!

Shoutouts to the old school pony people who remember how desperate I was to draw humans that I started painting the Sistine Chapel artwork with My Little Pony characters.

Anyway, I hope you like this dose of human artwork! I have another piece to complete this weekend, probably with much less exposed skin this time.

And hey, keep an eye out for Rixian's MS Pain Ironclad mod if you want to see these bad boys in action!

I'll see you in the next one!
