Amethyst Process (Patreon)

A little dancing Amethyst I had to replicate from the show (if you haven't watched Steven Universe I implore you to, it is incredible<3). Here is a simpler process pack for ya!

Sketch! With the Steven Universe style, I usually try to emulate the same faces and expressions from the show, with slight variations - in this case it would be the extra curls in the hair and wrinkles in the outfit.

Lines! I made some inner lines slightly skinnier, but overall very simple, coloring some of the inner lines to make them stand out less.

Flat color! Made the coat grey instead of black because it's easier to work with and shade.

For the shading here, I hardly added any extra layers, but instead just went over the piece with a watercolor brush, adding in darker black hues to the pants (black/grey colors are fun to shade because they are so simple!!), and adding some fun blends to the hair. I didn't want anything too extreme, to leave the cartoony feel.

And voila! This was finished up for the purpose of a sticker design. I hope to have some more Steven Universe and other non-MLP art out as well - do you guys have any non-MLP content you'd like to see? Favorite shows, series, etc? Let me know!
