Some recently finished commission pieces! I enjoyed tweaking with style here and there, from playing more with a "clay" shading for hair vs using a lot of added effects like stars and twinkles.

Above: OC piece. The reference was a picture of a pony-town character, so I had the challenge of translating a pixel horse into this style. The wingtips, hooves, and collar all had a crazy metallic sheen to them, and the grey mane/tail tips looked like they had been dipped in molten silver!

Made a custom design for a Golden Ticket winner from EverfreeNW. Played around with bolder lines and shading, and used the watercolor brush to create an almost "clay" look for the mane/tail. And man, yellow/oranges look insane with clay effects<3

A past due art trade! I had this piece lined for ages, and only recently got around to the coloring/shading process. I was a little intimidated by how to color everything, but in the end using similar tones for the shading helped tremendously; I stuck to orange tones to shade most of the piece, which was a great compromise between the brown of the fur and the yellow/blue of the dress.

A YCH! I used slightly wavering line thicknesses for more of a comic-y/lighthearted feel, and really went crazy with the different hair colors. Simpler shading techniques where, instead of going over to shade every strand, I just play around with transparency/blur. And then a ton of star effects over top!
