Same Idea, Different Takes (Patreon)

Concept sketches based on one character and one prompt: something adventurous. A few different photographs of locations were provided, but for the most part it was up to me to choose where and how to portray the scene. I love these kinds of projects aaaahhh!
Above: Sketch 3 of the 4. Went for a more intimate adventure feel, the satisfaction of having explored thus far and the anticipation of more to come.
Sketch 1: cool. Based in Egypt, the stones were to have more of a sandstone feel, have small inscriptions and insignias based off of whatever Egyptian architecture I could find most fitting.
Sketch 2: Detail. Horse OC overlooking a ruins cloaked in overgrowth, a lush mix of the old and cracked pillars, the waste left behind by a previous civilization, versus what new land has taken over, perhaps some water trickling down the old bricks and dew sparkling over the grass.
Sketch 4: bold! Using a dusty color palette, colors would be exaggerated, almost like a comic book, with the darks being near pure-black.
Commissioner ended up choosing Sketch 3, the top one! I am excited to play with snow effects for the first time :D (and fire for the second time...wish me luck!)
