Niamh volunteered for a special genetic engineering program. She told them she wanted to be a selkie. Now everyone knows that a selkie is a woman that can get into a seal skin and become a seal for ocean swimming but can shed the skin for walking about on land. The researchers agreed but, when the process was finished, she discovered their idea wasn't quite what she'd envisioned.
