Kione participates in a rebel rescue mission that sees her seperated from Sartha - and forced to confront both Handler's newest horrors, and her own worst impulses...

Let me just get this out of the way: this chapter is a big one. 14k words (my longest release yet), and it's all mecha action, sci-fi horror, plus a good measure of worldbuilding. I... may have gotten carried away! This - plus the holidays - are the reason it's been a little while since the last story update. As you can hopefully see, I haven't been idle! And this chapter sets the stage for all kinds of things that will prove important as Kione and Sartha hurtle towards Rescue Hound's climax...

this is so good im writing this whilst still at the beginning because i just *have* to comment on kione being conpared to a childs rag doll. insane, im feral. Anyway this was insane. so so good but oh my god. the neural link was as bad as i expected from the preview you posted. Big question to come: will kione have it in her to become a handler or is she really just a dog? Cant wait to see what happens next!

My fucking God, this was horrifying and wonderful in equal measure. I have so many thoughts. Of course this was the next step, and Kione is playing right into Handler's hands with how much she's trying to split herself in 3 different ways. The girl is screwed and she doesn't even know it. This is some of the best I've ever read. When I got to the end I was screaming. Thank you Kallie! ❤️

I always love how strongly your work grounds the reader in your characters' perspective, especially in this series. This chapter in particular is amazing at it: Kione's perspective, and Handler's too. It's sickening, reading every line and hearing how Kione feels and seeing the horrible, twisted logic of it. It's easy to see exactly what Kione's feeling and why, all the while knowing that if I were to feel the same, it would ruin everything good about me. It's a nauseatingly compelling way to write a corruption arc. Kione's conversation with Handler is amazing, too. She speaks a truth about the world in your story here, sure, but every line says so much about her and how she sees things, too. "Steal the mandate of heaven," indeed.

Phew, that was crazy! You delivered big time on the action, that maneuver was euphoric to read. I also yelled when she's in the Mutt cockpit and realizes it's still alive. Just the way you stacked those appalling revelations! Can't wait for the moment when Handler has finished the net she weaves around Kione and pulls it taut.

Feel like handler try to create a second in command and crack patcher in one . Tbh im surprise handler didnt use sexual drive but use hunger instead ,dark and isolated cockpit of a mech is the good environment to do sensory deprivation bs . Leave pilot in there for a week with basic requirement (but no sensory input at all but basic tactile sensation) once the brain is tendered and touch starved ,reintroduce sexual pleasure and connect it to the kill. It would be less fuck up and being more efficient . But i guess the fuck up is the point and i read too much into her MO

Incredible action incredible psychology. Still rooting for Kione Good Ending, even if Kione Good Ending is actually proving herself to Handler, unlike the post-Warhound side story about the other imperial officer lady who tried and failed. Unfortunately I don’t think Handler is the type to just give Sartha away as a prize to a stranger, but I hope they can bond and even learn to respect each other. But i already see the path where Kione falsely equating her feeling of superiority to actually being superior instead of her stumbling upon a gifted secret granted to her by somebody else is something that Handler is looking forward to using against her. :(

Wonderful chapter. Something I haven't mentioned already, the setting feels very well thought out and researched. Or, at least, gives the illusion that it is. The ways Kione's plan worked out, the exact makeups of the hound mechs, Handler revealing her hand a little, all impressive work.

Found this through the Queerotica Itch Bundle and I am thrilled that I did. Absolutely phenomenal work, with the descriptions and the way you weave the narrative so delicately around and through so many points without becoming snarled or hitting a snag. I'm curious as to the Handler's true goal with Kione, because I keep thinking that it is not her looking for another Equal but rather that step above Hound as a Hound is above Mutts. A working partner, who understands enough. I keep circling back to this idea of a Pack Leader, especially with how carefully Kione is being prepared to see the other dogs as LESS and the Mutts as purely unfortunates. To guide the pack, the hunt, even from afar given Kione's own self-admitted tactical acumen. Having read now the Warhound stories as well, and seeing how the Handler keeps commenting with pride about how far her Hounds are able to be from her I think she realizes that she cannot rely entirely on being the one in charge of them all. Combined with the nature of the Empire as we've heard, they want "mass production". But really, that's a loaded term. They don't want endless tides of templates, so much as they want predictable results from an expenditure. If the Handler can turn Kione into an extension of her training and methods, it means others can too in time. Making the process scalable even if slowly and carefully but it means it's not bespoke it's REPLICABLE. I'm also constantly left salivating over the idea of the like, Empress or High Princess or some such that greenlit the Handler's program and whether or not they have their own dedicated Guard Dog now.
