Holy alliteration Batman!

Seeing as the votes ended up having: 1x9 votes3x8 votes4x6 votes

I decided to make 2 polls: One for Patreon and one for YouTube, so make sure to vote in both!

I do love how for this poll each movie is in a different decade! If only Singing in the Rain was 1947 or 1957, then all of them would have released in a year ending in 7 😂

I don't know much about these, aside from Sunshine and Contact being sci-fi.

Reminder that you can vote for more than one movie in this poll!

The poll will be ending on June 10th at 11am EDT/3pm UTC.

In the event of a tie, I will be flipping a coin to see which one wins, since it seems you are all in cahoots! 🤣

"None of the above". Enjoy them, regardless!

Tough choice. I own copies of Contact and Sunshine, but… it’s been years since I’ve seen Raising Arizona. Really liked it. Don’t know why I never bought it. Might need a reaction to give me a shove.

Scott Howard

There was a time that I would’ve picked contact but not anymore. I don’t know what it is, but that film just doesn’t work for me anymore. I saw raising Arizona years ago and really liked it, but I haven’t even thought about it until I saw this. Singing in the rain would be a fun thing to watch.

Rob

Raising Arizona is a classic Coen brothers comedy and one of Nick Cage’s best performances. Contact is a great Sci-fi tale from a sadly rare perspective.

OrangeLion

Wait. Pleasant. Does that mean I don't get a vote this time?

Ian Cano

When will the YouTube poll go up?

Haven’t used Vudu…is that a rental? Currently just using Apple for purchases and those are tied to their hardware/software. [Their prices are $4 rental/$17 purchase for Raising Arizona currently.]

It's always nice to rewatch a movie that you haven't seen in years! Interesting to see if it still holds up and maybe pick up on some things that were missed the first time around

I find it interesting how some movies just stop being of interest to us as time changes, and how for other movies we get a new appreciation for them.

I'm very curious to see Nick Cage in more roles than Face/Off 😁 especially since I learned that he won an oscar for one of his roles.

As you noted above, some movies just don’t age well (I lose interest or have simply watched them to death). I’d include the Matrix films, Star Wars, Gladiator, 🤔 … the list goes on, but suffice it to say that these are not bad films, just not currently interesting. [The MCU and DCU collections are slipping into that category—and I don’t mean the current crop of shite.] I haven’t rewatched Contact in a couple of years and, when compared to Arrival, I don’t feel compelled. YouTube reaction videos are more fun (and take less time) than rewatching the originals 🤭.

Voted for Raising Arizona because my choice on the original post was also a Coen brothers movie and I want more Coen brothers movie reactions.

I was the one that suggested "Contact," and I agree that it isn't a perfect movie. I think it has a lot of great stuff in it, but there are definitely things that could've been done differently. (Obviously, I won't get into specifics until after a reaction.) I do think it's still worth watching though, especially when one keeps in mind that this was "90's Zemeckis." I just find it interesting seeing how similar it is aesthetically to other Zemeckis movies of the time. (Forrest Gump, Castaway.)

Thank you!!! You're the MVP. I just now figured out how to find and link to a post, which is not very obvious :D

Alliterations are awesome. And an amazingly astute audience always agrees.

Thank you, I found it and made my vote. My vote is not winning, but I am not upset because I definitely want Vero to see that too. And... and kind of all of them. Eventually.

Every single Coen movie I've seen, I've loved. And I regret to say none of them have been Raising Arizona. But this would get me to finally check it out because yes, so many people love it. And maybe I wanna be one of them.

Sunshine is fantastic. Honestly I think all of these are must watch films and I hope Vero gets around to all of them eventually.
