Just so much fun, and the editing is sublime! They really make a great pair, and I'm sure they'll have their ups and downs, but I'm here for it.

A quick note, I'm streaming these on BritBox and they have the following breakdown of episodes: S1 - 3 episodesS2 - 3 episodesS3 - 3 episodesSpecial - 1 episodeS4 - 3 episodes

Total = 13 episodes**Quick note for Britbox, the website shows the above breakdown, but the episodes for Special and S4 are called differently. Special is actually S4 and S4 is actually S5. It's a bit weird, but I'm going to be calling "Special" as "Season 4" for ease of keeping track of things. If it's not clear, that's fine, I'll have the episode titles in the title of my posts

I've look on IMDB and this is the breakdown:S1 - 4 episodesS2 - 3 episodesS3 - 4 episodesS4 - 4 episodes

Total = 15 episodes

It seems there are 2 extra on imdb that BritBox doesn't have: S1E0: "Unaired Pilot"S3E0: "Many Happy Returns"

Since those aren't on BritBox, I guess I won't be watching them.

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

You need your own copy of the show to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

This was a pleasant surprise. It was nice to revisit as I haven’t seen the episodes since they first aired. I didn’t remember it was the cabbie before the reveal so that bodes well for future episodes. I have no idea if enough clues are shown to the audience for us to work stuff out going forward, but won’t affect me either way as I’m not bright enough to work it out anyway. We don’t drive on the wrong side, it’s just the opposite side 😊

It was so great to dive back into the world of "Sherlock". I missed the witty writing, the fast pace and the outstanding editing...🤩 If you have only half the fun with this show as I did (and it looks that way), you'll absolutely come to love Inspector Lestrade, Mycroft (the "arch-enemy") and Molly and Mrs. Hudson especially. They are all so well written characters. Especially Molly conquered a special place in my heart right from the beginning...😊 Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch have a great chemistry with each other, they're the perfect duo...😁 And the writers play so clever with elements of the novels, using characters, quotes, plot elements and play with them inside their own story. F.e. the title of SH's first adventure was "A study in scarlet". The two pills, "Rache", the wedding ring, the unhappy marriage, the cabby (originally a coachman) - it is all there and yet completely new. Mrs. Hudson is their landlady AND their housekeeper in the novels and a very passive character. But Una Stubbs only agreed to play Mrs. Hudson if she gets more active, more confident and a modern woman. The first meeting of Holmes and Watson is exactly the same as shown here, down to the dialogue lines between Watson, Stamford and Holmes. They even reflected a mistake of Conan Doyle in the novels. He first described Watson as wounded in the shoulder, in later novels it was his leg that took a bullet. So they gave "our" Watson the real shoulder wound and a psychosomatic leg problem. This show is an absolute fest for Sherlock Holmes easter egg hunters...😃 You can't imagine the hype that evolved around the show. From season 2 on they couldn't shoot on Londons streets anymore, at least not without closing a wide area around the place. They were always besieged by hundreds (mostly) younger women. For the early seasons they filmed near Euston Rd. (as Baker Street), later they rebuild 221b Baker street in a studio lot to avoid big fan crowds. And they shot in Cardiffs streets as replacement for London (initially to save money, but it later came in handy as there weren't such big fan mobs...🙈 I'm so looking forward to you continuing to watch the show...🤗 P.S.: You can proudly consider yourself smarter than Sherlock Holmes, as he thought of someone using the cab to get to his victims, not of the cabby himself, as you clearly did...🧐😉😃

Good job recognizing Mycroft as Sherlock's brother. In the Conan Doyle short stories, Mycroft is described as having an intelligence that rivals, even surpasses, his brother's, but lacks the ambition to put it to any practical use. As a result, on almost any issue, Mycroft would rather be considered wrong than make the effort to prove himself right. And, fun fact, Mycroft is played by Mark Gatiss, one of the show's creators.

FYI the unaired pilot is pretty much just a shorter version of this episode, and Many Happy Returns is a 7 minute short that sets up the season 3 premiere. Neither are necessary to watch, but Many Happy Returns is officially available on YouTube if you did want to react to it as part of the series. Also on another note your hair looks amazing in this video…
