The winner of the 1980s poll over on YouTube!

I really do love buddy cop movies, they are just so much fun! Though this one has a really dark edge to it, which I appreciated.

Danny Glover plays the straight cop very well. I'd love to see him in a different role at some point.

Mel Gibson was way more wild than I'm used to, so it was a pleasant surprise. He plays the reckless character well, but he really shines in the serious, heartbreaking moments.

Very much an 80s movie 🤩

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here and watching along with me!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | Lethal Weapon (1987) [2025]

Reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to watch along with me since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

No spoilers.. but they go from "very much an 80's movie" to "very much a 90's action film".. they're brilliant films!

I thought the 'lethal weapon' would be something inanimate. The first one is my favorite for reactions because everything is new to the reactor. It's fun to watch as you discover what the series is - who's who and what's what - that kind of thing. Thank you. Watching on my own, I prefer 3 and 4. This series is fun and worth the time in my opinion.

Glad you’re finally being introduced to this franchise. But you should have saved it for Christmas 🎄 😉. LoL

Ugh I can’t believe this beat my Robocop suggestion! There’s nincompoopery and chicanery afoot! I do, however love it when you dance to the music captain Vero! 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 Have you ever noticed that cops in cop movies never dress like cops? Like how the hell are people supposed to know you’re a cop if you don’t look like a cop? Seems like a cop out and excuse to make actors look unique instead of coppy.

Lethal Weapon is a great franchise with 3 sequels and another in development. I'm not surprised it was a close race between this and Robocop lol

All of the "Lethal Weapon" sequels are worth your time to watch. This is the only Christmas themed one. There is also a comedy spoof "Loaded Weapon 1" (1993) starring Samuel L. Jackson & Emilio Estavez (son of Martin Sheen & brother of Charlie Sheen). This can be watched anytime _after_ "Lethal Weapon 3"

More good Shane Black movies: "The Last Boy Scout" (1991) - Bruce Willis, Damon Wayans, Halle Berry, Bruce McGill "The Long Kiss Good Night" (1996) - Samuel L. Jackson, Geena Davis

The saxophone jazz was Murtaugh's theme music. Riggs had electric guitar rock as background music. Composer Michael Kaman did a lot of movie soundtracks. He was also conductor of the San Francisco Philharmonic in the 1990's & 2000's. He wrote and conducted the symphonic accompaniment for the Metalica live album "S & M" (Symphony and Metallica) which was recorded during 2 live performances at the SF Philharmonic. The concerts were included as part of that year's season ticket package, so the audience was a real mixed bag of regular season ticket holders and younger Metallica fans who got tickets from relatives who didn't want to use their season tickets for those shows.

Murtaugh says that Hunsacker saved his life in the Ia Drang Valley in 1965. That is the battle Mel Gibson portrayed in "We Were Soldiers".

Some more Mel Gibson that you might like: "Maverick" (1994) - western comedy "Ransom" (1996) "Bird on a Wire" (1990) "Tequila Sunrise" (1988)

The fight coordinator for Mel Gibson's fights was Grandmaster Rorion Gracie, who had started the first Brazilian Jiujitsu school in the US, and later founded the UFC and introduced the US to MMA. This was the first time that Brazilian Jiujitsu was shown in an American movie.
