Sometimes I wonder how people can notice a film's influences, but for this one, it feels so obvious!

I finally know the origin of 1 of the famous movie killers!! I'm really curious to see Halloween though since that will help me be able to differentiate between the two movies.

They did a good job making every damn scene so tense 🤣

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here and watching along with me!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | Friday the 13th (1980) [2025]

You need your own copy of the movie to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

Makes you glad to see Saturday the 14th!

This is my fifth favorite horror film next to "Halloween"! With this, the atmosphere is genuinely creepy. For a movie often derided for being a clone of "Halloween", it creates its own uniquely menacing atmosphere, and the final jump scare is still one of the best, a zombified Jason leaping from the water, sets the stage for all sequels to come.

Thanks, Vero! 🩸 This franchise takes a few installments before its main iconography develops. I love this one and the first sequel the most. Huge kudos to the late Betsy Palmer.

I was afraid of Freddy and Jason as a child just by their look alone. I started watching Friday the 13th just a few years ago and they have become some of my favorites along with "Halloween." Still can't get into A Nightmare on Elm Street lol

I had to laugh when you kept trying to peek around the shower curtain to see what was back there. I like that this movie plays with the tension and not too much into the gore. It made 78 million off a 600,000 budget.

Kudos to you for opening the door to this franchise. I personally have a love/hate for these movies. The first 8, are of the Paramount region before New Line bought the rights to it. I’m not a fan of 1-5, but I see why people enjoy them. 6-8 are my personal favorites. Don’t ask me why, but I get a kick out of those. It’s just stupid fun 🤩. Anyway if you can make to all 8, I’ll commend you.

I’ve now finally seen the OG Friday The 13th movie, yay, and it was better than I expected. With Scream being my favourite scary movie franchise, I had a lot of fun picking up all of the references and nods they put into the first Scream movie. It did mean I already knew who the killer was as it was part of Drew Barrymore’s survival quiz, which she failed. Speaking of which, I now see how subverting expectations early on was also probably taken from this movie with the lovely, perky Annie being the first victim, I really wasn’t expecting that. I liked her. Then there is the survivor girl (not the first I know), “I’ll be right back”, and of course…nipples 😁. I’m sure there’s others I either missed or forgot about. Vero a few minutes in: “Time to kill everyone” - seems a bit harsh, I didn’t think their singing was that bad 😁

Yay!!! Better than expected is always a treat lol And being able to see where your favourite scary movie got some of its references and nods is so much fun. Evil Vero comes out more quickly when I'm watching a horror movie 😇

All praise to the masterful special effects and gore effects by Tom Savini. He used prosthetics to create kills we see on screen. He had just done work on George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead (1978), another movie you should watch, but it is rather difficult to find. The snake was completely real and was unfortunately killed during filming of this movie.

Special effects is always fascinating to see. I had a zombie bite on me for a short film and seeing someone make it look so realistic is such a treat!!
