HE'S SO YOUNG!!! Granted this came out only 3 years before Top Gun, but his character is in high school. HIGH SCHOOL!! Never would I have thought to see Tom Cruise playing a highschooler 🤣

There are so many fun things about this movie, and what a joy to see that the dancing in his underwear scene is from this!!

Some people just have a knack for business 😅

We can thank Brad for the reactr request!!

If you want to make your own request, visit reactr! For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here!!

You need your own copy of the media to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

Thanks for your reaction, Vero. I'm glad you recognized (sort of) Joe Pantoliano pretty quickly - agreed, his voice is the giveaway. Tom Cruise did a fantastic job portraying Joel. I found him pretty convincing as a naive high schooler who got in over his head. I only remember Rebecca De Mornay from two other films - "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle" (1992), a pretty good thriller, and I think a gritty drama on a train with co-star either Jon Voight or Eric Roberts (I may be confusing two different films but I'm too lazy to look it up). I haven't watched this version of "Risky Business" in several years but recognized Shera Danese as Lana's friend, Vicki, because she was Peter Falk's real life wife and appeared in several "Columbo" episodes, along with other actors who made recurring appearances in that series - father and son actors, Bruce and Bruno Kirby (young Clemenza, in "The Godfather Part II"), and Vito Scotti (Nazorine, the baker who employed young Enzo, in "The Godfather"). I used to watch the entire "Columbo" catalog in release order with my folks in their later years.

I’m so glad you got to react to and enjoy this iconic movie! The take away line we all need… “Sometimes you just have to say, 'What the f*ck?’”

Oh great movie, I saw it when it first came out, for kids watching that movie back then, OMG it was like the greatest movie ever for us. Boys in my school back then were just like that, some of them very obnoxious, LMAO, but living in a middle class suburb, that was my freakin high school, except my parents didn't let me go to crazy parties. Oh another great movie, his 2nd when he was 18 or 19 is called TAPS, 1981. It is the movie that got him noticed in Hollywood. OH TAPS is also Sean Penn's first movie and jeeze, you saw a star already in Sean Penn's performance in his first movie WOW. So , If you want to see Tom Cruise and Sean Penn in basically their first major movie, you won't be disappointed. The big leading stars in that movie is George C. Scott of Patton fame and a great young star who already had an Oscar and the lead actor in TAPS is Timothy Hutton he was 21 and already had an Oscar for Ordinary People when he was 19 or 20.
