This was SO FUN!!!

So many comebacks, and funny lines, I live for this kind of comedy 😁

I do feel that a lot of these movies/stories are very similar, the different take that the actor brings is what sets them apart.

Recently, it feels like there are SO many movies about "ex-military" or "retired law enforcement" or "retired hitman" type of stories. I go into those movies with the hope to have fun, and not think much during them 😅

I gotta say, Tom Cruise is a great actor. He excels at action movies/roles.For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | Jack Reacher (2012) [2026]

You need your own copy of the media to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

The Prime Video "Reacher" series is AWESOME!!!

I was trying to decide what movie to watch this evening and then you posted this - absolute no-brainer, I love this movie. First off, the amount you talked about Jack Ryan in your intro (even after you realised this was a different character) was hilarious 🤣. Having not read any of the books, I saw this without any preconceptions and loved it for what it was. Once I learned about the character I could appreciate why so many fans were not happy with Tom Cruise’s casting. Despite his physique, I thought Tom did a great job in the roll. There were a couple of moments that simply didn’t work with Tom however, namely the way it was shot with Reacher walking through the crowd in the bar and the hotel/motel receptionist picking him as a guest when asked who may be capable of killing someone with a single punch. It felt like something lifted straight out of the book, but genuinely makes no sense post Cruise’s casting. Odd they decided to go with it. As much as I absolutely love this movie, I didn’t think much of the sequel at all. I’ve only seen the first season of the TV show so can only speak to that, but for me it was simply superb. From memory I think the tone is a little bit more serious but close enough that I have no doubt you’d really like it too. Having just been reminded of Tom Cruise’s on screen chemistry with Robert Duvall I really want to rewatch Days Of Thunder now.

I've also read a couple of both Tom Clancy's and Lee Child's books though I don't remember a ton about them mainly because I have a bad memory but also because I've read so many books by other authors in that action thriller genre, here is what I can recall: - Tom Clancy's books, I've read maybe 3 or 4 of his books (years ago), to me were very technical and detailed and felt like he'd "been there done that". - Lee Child's books I've only ready 1 or 2 of his books and honestly they weren't very memorable to me though I do recall most of book #1 but that is because of the "Reacher" series. FYI, a big difference between the "Reacher" movies and the Prime series is that the movie starts with like book 9 in the series while the series starts of with book 1 and follows it pretty closely. As for books(novels) by other authors that I've read, if interested I HIGHLY recommend these 6 authors, in order of my favorite to almost favorite: 1. Jack Carr - Has two Prime Series based on his work (w/more scheduled): "The Terminal List"(based on book #1) & "The Terminal List: Dark Wolf"(is a prequel and not based on a specific book, if I recall correctly). 2. Brad Thor - There has been talks of a movie but nothing official yet, I think. 3. Brad Taylor - No movie/series talks yet as far as I know. 4. W.E.B. Griffin - Mainly his Semper Fidelis series. No movies as far as I know. 5. Stephen Hunter - At least one movie "The Shooter". 6. Robert Ludlum - The "Bourne" movies, if not more. There are many other authors of fiction and nonfiction (Marcus Luttrell "Love Survivor") that I like and could recommend so if interested, I can provide a list.. LOL

No spoilers: - Author Lee Child had a cameo as the police desk sergeant when Reacher was being released from being arrested. - The series "Reacher" is excellent, more mystery than action, and well worth your time. Each season is one story which is resolved by the end of the season, with no cliffhanger endings between seasons. So if you want you can do 1 season (8 eps), then something else, then come back to season 2, etc. The story of the first season is from the first books, so is very good at introduction and backstory. The movie "Jack Reacher" takes place between season 1 and season 2. - Physically, Alan Ritchson is closer to Reacher as described in the books. The snappy dialogue is from the books, so also appears in the series. - Personally, I would like to see V do "Reacher" season 1 after she finishes "The Mandalorian" before any other series.

Some other "don't mess with the unassuming guy" that you might like: "Man On Fire" (2004 remake) "Nobody" (2021) "The November Man" (2014) "Harry Brown" (2009) "The Accountant" (2016) "Wrath of Man" (2022) "Payback" (1999) "Parker" (2013) same character as "Payback", different actor "Play Dirty" (2025) same character as "Payback" and "Parker", different actor

For characters not named "Jack", try: "Bosch" series, free on Prime/FreeVee. Based on books by Michael Connolly "Southland" series, recently added to Netflix (US)

I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one who noticed her larger boobs 😂.

Forgot to mention; did you notice that there was no music during the car chase?

Carol Rocha

This is the real Jack Reacher. 😊

You would love DEJAVU. Denzel Washington movie. Fire! 🔥

The Reacher series is pretty good. The actual charater is more in line with how he is described in the books ( he's a big dude in the books). Having read the books I didn't give this movie the benefit of the doubt. I thought to myself " What? Tom Cruise? he's a little small to play Jack Reacher." So I put off watching it for a long time. Then one night I said to hell with it and watched it and was pleasantly surprised. Glad you enjoyed it!

Tim Heron

If the Zec looks familiar, Werner Herzog was in "The Mandalorian". His character, known only as "the Client," is the one who, in the first episode, hires Mando to collect and bring Grogu to him.

Chris Gronau

I wasn't that impressed with this movie when it first came out, but that was largely because I couldn't see Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. In the books, Reacher is 6' 5", 250 lbs. Tom Cruise isn't. I had difficulty getting past the miscasting, which didn't help my appreciation of the movie. The "Reacher" series on Amazon Prime is pretty good, and the first season is excellent. The "Jack Ryan" series on Amazon is also quite good, although the "Jack Ryan" series has almost nothing in common with the Jack Ryan books. I'd like to see reactions to both of them.

This was probabaly one of the most fun intros you've done and I think one of the more fun reactions. I love thrillers over the flashy pure action movies, layers and suspense, and mystery just have something CGI will never bring. Def do the sequal movie and the series. I think you will like. I was hesitant on series and didnt like at first because I had never heard of the books and in my ignorance, I preferred the smal unasuming cruise to the obvious giant but, it didnt take long for the story to grow on me. Of the list of alternate Reachers, i think Stephen Lang would have been spectacular. He can bulk to be a beast but also be very unassuming, he might have been the perfect blend

Hey V! This is one of my favorite Cruise movies and since you liked it so much, I had to watch your entire reaction. 🥰
