Oh, you're in for a ride there!

What an absolute delight of a movie, yeah?

Frances McDormand was a blast, and absolute perfection 🤩 Not knowing anything about it was a bonus, and this made me want to see the TV series even more, just to see Martin Freeman do the accent (I hope!).

I will eventually start recognizing Peter Stormare. I saw him in Armageddon, Constantine, John Wick Chapter 2, Pain & Gain, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and now Fargo. I sometimes say that he looks familiar but can't remember him for some reason 😅

Despite the events of the story, the characters just make it so fun and adorable 😁

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | Fargo (1996) [2026]

You need your own copy of the media to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

Looking forward to your watchalong! Peter Stormare works a lot He was one of the regulars in a short-lived comedy series "LA to Vegas" that centered around a cabin of regular customers (and some gamblers) and the flight crew of a bargain basement airline commuter flight led by Captain Dave (Dylan McDermott). Peter also had a key role in a movie you have not reacted to just yet and I hope you haven't seen it already. I can't recall if you've already posted a Letterboxd link for your movies - I searched your posts but didn't see the title in question. EDIT: Never mind! I found your master list of movies!

I love that he got the one cent stamp!

Thanks, Véro! ❄️🩸🔍

FYI, Argo is completely different from Fargo. Completely.

Actor Steve Buscemi used to do some smaller indie film projects - the sort that actresses Parker Posey and Chloë Sevigny used to appear in back in their younger days. He has appeared as a guest on late night talk shows and says that when he first started out he somehow got it into his head that he needed to learn skills like riding a unicycle and becoming proficient in ventriloquism. At one point, Steve was a New York City firefighter and kept his acting dream a secret from his buddies for fear of being mocked. Years later when the 9/11 attack occurred, Steve went to his old firehouse and volunteered to help. Steve was in the news several years ago when he and actor Vince Vaughn were working together in a movie. They went to a bar after a day's shoot and got into a scuffle with some locals. Who knows - maybe someone told Steve that he was 'funny lookin'...

The Mike story was to establish in Marge's mind that a seemingly true story could be false, so she returns to Jerry Lundegard for further questioning. The TV series is, surprisingly, very, very good. At least the first two seasons. 3 Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is top of the charts. Frances McDormand's second Oscar award. (Fargo was her first.)

❄️❄️❄️ I think the most remarkable thing about "Fargo" is the way it combines a genuinely exciting and ingenious crime plot with such a good-hearted portrait of a plucky policewoman. And the photography makes the weather into a character, too. You can feel the cold. That cold, white, snowy wasteland where cars won't start, and even the cops wear Elmer Fudd hats. Listen to the way the Minnesotans talk, it's Minnesota nice! A crime comedy of good manners! ❄️❄️❄️

They all sound like various members of my dad's family. He was born in Bemidji.

Woo, a perfect movie to watch in the dead of winter! The show is really good and has some connections between the seasons but is largely an anthology as you said.

Brian Littlejohn

I love this movie! It is just an hour and a half long train wreck.

Lana Gorgeous

I know it's not a true story, but when witness kept describing Steve Buscemi's character as funny looking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt5GsfNcDzA ; but he can also be described as a idiot. He does all that crime for money, gets 1 million dollars instead of 80,000 and instead of going to Canada at a time one didn't need a passport, he drives back to the house of his clearly psychotic partner and ends up in the wood chipper. Now no tears for him and his demise, but these were clearly not only the most dangerous criminals depicted in a movie but at the same time the most stupid!

Time to watch 3 Billboards. I'm pretty sure you'll love it.
