Thank you Brad for this reactr request!!!

This movie is best to not even look at the poster before watching. The discovery of what the heck it's all about is so much fun, and I LOVE the concept!!

They did a fantastic job with it, and I would love to see more movies like this (though I don't want to know that's what the movies are about, so please don't suggest movies like this in the comments 😅)

Definitely worth a watch, imo!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again

Thank you so much for being here!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | The Final Countdown (1980) [2025]

You need your own copy of the media to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

I know what I'm watching tonight! 👍

When they slow-pan the carrier; it reminds me of ‘Space-balls’ or ‘Battlestar Galactica’

RegalEagle

On a carrier , the ‘CAG’ (Commander Owen) is equal in rank to the Captain, so it makes sense that his cabin would be spacious.

RegalEagle

The guy writing on the plexiglass.. is actually standing on the opposite side from the officers.. and writing everything ‘backwards’ so it can be read correctly on the other side..

RegalEagle

All US Navy ships entering and exiting from Pearl Harbour ‘render honours’ (wear dress uniforms and ‘hand salute’) the USS Arizona hull (with the entombed shipmates) and the memorial that is built on top of it..

RegalEagle

Martin Sheen is also father to Emilio Esteves ‘Breakfast Club’.. the Jock..

Lana Gorgeous

Interesting movie, but like all of these time travel movies, they ask more questions than can be answered. The helicopter crew and the Marines detaining the Japanese soldier all died, so what affect would that happen on the ripples of time? Also that Commander Owen who came back as Richard Tideman, head of Tideman Industries., is so mysterious but obviously very powerful and wealthy. You wonder how did he use his knowledge of the future to manipulate stocks, influence history for his own financial gain.

Thanks, Véro! ⏳ I saw this one in the cinema. Temporal mechanics have always fascinated me. 🔸 Be sure to see Katharine Ross in the psychological-drama/science-fiction/thriller/mystery THE STEPFORD WIVES (1975).

Not sure where Vero was looking, but Available to stream for free on Tubi, Pluto, Roku, and Sling and on Amazon Prime w/ subscription

Kirk Douglas recommendations: "In Harm's Way" (1965) - I think Vero got this in one of her early unboxings, but never watched it "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" (1954) - his 2nd most famous role. Based on the book by Jules Verne "Paths of Glory" (1957) - mostly drama not action "Spartacus" (1960) - His most famous role, but maybe not to Vero's taste

Ian Cano

For a different take on this concept, I recommend Somewhere in Time (1980).

I like the two comedy Japanese carrier names "The So Are You" and "The Here Are You"

Man or Woman, Items of mechanical engineering are always sexy.. But ain’t nuthin’ as sexy as an item of mechanical engineering that on the outer edge, displaces 102,000 tons!

Just got word.. the retirement of CV-68 USS Nimitz has been delayed until at least 2027 so that the US can maintain 11 carriers in the fleet… we are awaiting the launching of the new USS John F Kennedy.. side note.. I served on the original USS JFK; CV-67..
