No "All of the Above" option? But seriously, early (50s and 60s) Science Fiction are a genre everybody should explore. My favorites (in no particular order): "The Day the Earth Stood Still" "Forbidden Planet" "War of the Worlds" "The Thing From Another World" (and no, John Carpenter's 1982 "The Thing" IS NOT a remake of this one - it's a new adaptation of the source material "Who Goes There?" by John W. Campbell, Jr.) "The Time Machine" "Planet of the Apes" "Logan's Run" Some notables you left out: "The Incredible Shrinking Man" (1957) - Science Run Amok "This Island Earth" (1955) - Aliens / Space "Colossus The Forbin Project" (1970) - Computer / Science Run Amok "When Worlds Collide" (1951) - Disaster "Fantastic Voyage" (1966) - Suspense "Rocketship X-M" (1950) - Space "The 27th Day" (1957) - Space / Aliens And many, many more

If you have any affection for 1980s Sci-Fi TV Shows or fan culture in general, then I recommend Cruise of the Gods (2002). It's a Steve Coogan comedy.
