My 2000s movie pick and a Coen Brothers film to boot!

Movie length: 2h02m27s

Javier Bardem was... perfect. 😨

Honestly, the lack of music is so poignant and fits so well. I am very impressed by this brother duo. They can go from comedic hilarity (Fargo) to this?!

I'm looking forward to more Coen Brothers movies!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the movie.  You can set picture in picture by right clicking twice on the video and selecting "Picture in picture". The right clicking twice is a bit tricky, because you have to right click, then move your cursor so it's not on the menu, then right click again. You can also hold " ctrl + shift + ] " or control then shift then the ] key on your keyboard when you have a video window active and it will open the pop out

Thank you so much for being here!!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | No Country for Old Men (2007) [2026]

You need your own copy of the media to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

One of my all-time fave movies. What makes it stand out is that, at its heart, it presents more themes than "plot" compared to your regular movies. And, anyone can feel free to correct me on this, but my thoughts are: - One of the themes is, of course, societal violence, and how it's inherent to humankind. In one of the final scenes with Sheriff Tom Bell, his relative recounts to him how heartless the world was even 'back in the days', and how it's nothing new, no matter how it might feel like it's 'getting worse' with time. - Anton Chigurh is a walking, talking incarnation of 'inevitable and sudden death'. Even his coin flips manifest the randomness of one's demise, and it's of course ironic how he himself suffers a completely random car accident in the end. - Llewelyn was unfortunately always bound to fail, because he was blind to how deadly the world really is, despite his experience with war. Society may seem civilized, but there's a hidden brutality that most of us never witness.
