It's Thursday!! And that means a full length reaction is available: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

Another intense movie where I keep thinking everyone will die at any point.

I hope you enjoy the reaction, and just a reminder that you need your own copy of the movie to follow along (unless you want to figure out what the movie is about based on my reaction which might be pretty difficult).

Have a great rest of your week!

FULL LENGTH REACTION | The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 [2022]

Good day everyone! Mockingjay Part 1 full length reaction is here!! You DO need your own copy of the movie to watch along with me though since this is solely my reaction. I did use the extended edition, but I won't be doing extended editions in the future, I don't think. The video is there so you can have an idea when the scene changes in case you need to sync up, but it is HEAVILY blurred so I don't have any copyright issues. Enjoy!!

I commented on the YouTube vid for Catching Fire earlier but wanted an excuse to watch the full mocking jay movies again, so here I am, hah. I’ve never been a fan of shaky cam in general (only movie I ever walked out of was a Bourne movie since it just got too much). But I really like what these movies end up being… about severe trauma, the power (even potentially for good) of propaganda to make an argument, and the danger that a revolution only replaces one dictator with another. Surprisingly mature exploration of some difficult themes. And yes Effie is great, Elizabeth Banks plays it perfect. Love the character arc she pulls and she has to have had fun with the role!

Also great to hear you’re a fan of Expanse too! If you haven’t watched Andor yet, between liking Expanse and Hunger Games I think you’d love it. By far the best done Star Wars in a long time, far more complex than usual look at the banality of fascism and oppression and the cost of the rebellion for normal people.

Could not agree more!! These movies end up being way better and way more than what I expected. I just thought it would be a teenage story that ends up being a love triangle with not many meaningful themes BUT, was I ever wrong!! Effie throughout the movies has such great character development and we really see her for who she is, which is so different from what I assumed in the first movie
