I see RWBY I click

James Long

Yes, been really looking forward to this one.

Kitsune Kokoro

I've really been looking forward to seeing what you think of v1c8 :)

Kitsune Kokoro

I'd rather let her watch and form her own opinions, we can always discuss the episodes and her thoughts on them after the fact

FullmetalNinja25

The song "Red Like Roses Part 2" which plays when Team RWBY fights the Nevermore was sung by Casey and her Mother.

Jittercritter

The Nevermore fight is a HUGE selling point for this series! Not everyone gets sucked in immediately like you did, but seeing that tips most hesitant reactors in favor of continuing the show.

jessie H

I’m surprised you didn’t pause to look at the names of the Grimm types on the board!

DanFDTR

Surprised you didn't go back to hear JNPR's full names too. I know you know Jaune Arc but the others are Nora Valkrie, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren.

BrightHeart

The Achieve Men poster is based on the Achievement Hunters which was a part of Rooster Teeth.

Sunset

You are definitely right about color being super important in terms of symbolism in RWBY. Each member of Team RWBY has a little color on them representative of their assigned partner and even their other teammates! (Ruby has white crosses and the black outfit, as you mentioned Weiss has the red on her collar but also a splash of black, Blake has the yellow in her eyes and white to go with the black in her outfit, whereas Yang has purple eyes, and a bandana wrapped around her leg that is also purple). I won't say too much about why, but you are definitely right! Color has a lot of different meanings in this show and is super important. Weiss Schnee = white snow in german Yang Xiao Long = sunny little dragon or yellow little dragon Blake Belladonna = old english for black and belladonna (also known as the deadly nightshade) is a dark purple plant/flower Looking forward to seeing you watch the rest of the show! Weiss definitely grows the most this volume, but I look forward to seeing how you'll react to everyone else's future development as well! (also, I'm with you, Blake Belladonna had a grip on me pretty hard early on as well!)

Martin E Melcher

Love that you're continuing this series! I found it fun to watch the VA's, animation, and over all storytelling elements improve as times goes on. Also, I see you more as a Yang character. Mosco is more the Blake. And Morgan is her own character and fanart as yall as characters needs to be made

kywolf55

I cannot wait for more, rwby is one of my favorite series

Kitsune Kokoro

There are a lot of little nods like that to other RT properties

LikeCat

I thought she would but alass.

Miholiday

The colors in this show are very much intentional

Tone87

“Schnee Weiss” translate to Snow White in German. I’m just saying::::

Rachel Mae

Red Like Roses pt 2 is one of the best rwby soundtrack songs to this day imo and the lyrics really expand on Ruby’s character. Weiss is right Ruby IS still very childish these first few episodes in particular but then you go and take a look at the lyrics to rlr2 and it’s like oh. Oooh. There’s so much more going on here

PraisetheFool

Yeah I love the music in this show, but sadly they got rid of their soundtrack on Spotify

demonic-myst

since when i been in this comunity since rwby started come out and never seen any conssensus on them being the worst or even bad

Kisuke01

I was so sad when RWBY Playlist got wiped 😭

Rachel Mae

But they’ll be back eventually! I’ve survived rwby hiatuses I can survive this lol also the combo pt 1 and 2 version of red like roses is on YouTube and the transition between the two slaps

Joe

It's been a long time since Ive seen a rector come up with theory's Cant wait for more. Gotta love Season 1 Weiss.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Ruby's eyes are silver, specifically; Ozpin, if you will recall, commented on this as soon as he met her in ep. 1. Blake, meanwhile, was at one point intended to have heterochromia, and while this idea was clearly abandoned, some concept art of it still exists, I believe.

Terrafan

Great reaction and very insightful. There were a few comments you said that made me just laugh out loud, sometimes for how prophetic they may be or...well... i'll not say more for spoiler reasons.

KroganHorse

Im so glad you're continuing this series, it's my favorite show! Also, I would love to see you react to the soundtrack for each volume after the end of the Volume, its always my favorite part of new rwby reactors! Even if you don't react to it you should definitely still listen to it as the songs give a lot of insight into how characters are thinking and feeling

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Also, Professor Port is based on Peter (from Peter and the Wolf), all grown up and with a Most Magnificent Moustache (TM). If you listen to the snippets we get of the story he's telling in class, he is indeed telling a Remnant-appropriate version of Prokofiev's tale.

pneuma163

Yeah, RWBY has a way of sticking to you. Also I chuckled at your humored "it's so unserious!" because absolutely but also so, so much more. I appreciate that you got distracted by Blake and Yang and sorta missed the little moment of Ruby standing all leader-like on the rock which was what Yang was focused on in that moment. "I get attached easily and quickly." I know this from watching many of your reactions in the past and I am so excited for how you're gonna experience the many stories of RWBY in the future because of this.

Arashi

Nice catch on the eye/design matching. You're mostly right, though there is some fandom (or FNDM) bias on matches/pairings. Out of curiosity, do you think you will/would react to the soundtrack (vocal songs at least) on a by volume basis? The full versions of the songs have a tendency to slightly spoil some background bits so it's not advised to do them before a volume concludes. A YT content creator FlyntofRWBY made lyric videos of each of them up to volume 7, volume 8 and 9 have some but by that point he was pulling back from it.

RibKoboldScout

I could definitely see Mosco as a highland cow faunus!

Liam Gradwell

Elijah loves Blake, calls her “beloved” and she’s already planning to cosplay her. This is the kind of reaction I crave. 😁❤️

Martin E Melcher

Simmilar cut as Blake later and a broken horn on her left side for her ear. Honestly had the same idea

sgtfarron

You're reaction to Blake is SO relatable 😂😂

TheeInnerWill8

Elijah: hears about how Ozpin has made more mistakes than anyone alive and wonders if that's important. The rest of the RWBY fandom hears this and laughs

Jason S

Quick trivia: "Weiss Schnee" is German for "White Snow".

TXOT

I'm really partial to Red Like Roses pt. 3 but that's a LONG way from now. And yeah I was bummed to see the 9 volumes be taken down from Spotify and other platforms but they're working on getting them back up as soon as possible now that RWBY has a new home.

Ko Villa

Ah Episode 8, the one that hooks everybody into the show. Port is treasure trove of wisdom and a great Teacher. I've never noticed the whole eye color thing with the different pairings it honestly makes sense and I thank you sharing your discovery with us. Man there's so much I want so say, but I have to wait until you get further into the show. Glad your enjoying the journey can't for more reactions!!!

Kitsune Kokoro

Pretty sure it's just because of the rights changing hands to Viz, IIRC there were posts from Casey/Jeff saying that they're working to get the licensing sorted out so the OSTs can go back up on streaming services

Octavia

Yay more episodes. The wait between each reaction feels so long. It's one a week right? So the next one will be next Monday?

Bryan Forquer

Episode 8 is the episode where pretty much everyone becomes addicted to RWBY. But I'm so glad that you love it so much already!! I think I can speak for the whole RWBY fandom when I say we would absolutely love to see you cosplay Blake!! As for the argument between Weiss and Ruby, I think Ruby was being childish and immature, she was goofing off in class when she was supposed to be paying attention. Ruby treated her role as leader like it's a joke or a toy, she wasn't taking the responsibility seriously. When Weiss was fighting the boar Grimm, she wanted to do it her own way and Ruby was just getting in the way.

AJ

This is such a perfect show for Elijah. The humor is right up her alley. It gets dramatic in cool ways. There are plenty of allusions to figure out. This is and will continue to be fun.

Rando

I had forgotten about Professor Port and his insight in early eps. A shame his VA turned out to be a monster. But hopefully they'll recast at some point. The wait between eps is gonna be a killer lol

jessie H

I was waiting for it, she’s usually so good at spotting things! Port’s mustache was too magnificent for her to notice anything else

Ryanne

I love that she’s picking up on the eye colors with Blake and Yang, I really hope that once she’s gets into the groove of it she’ll release two episodes a reaction since it’ll be the rough equivalent of a 30 min show

Riley Thatcher

I hope Elijah reacts to the soundtracks after each season

Verdigree

Perhaps you are subconsciously remembering Blake's voice (Arryn Zech) from that Honkai: Star Rail animation of the very intense sapphic dance

Verdigree

I wanna just briefly impart some a couple words, which are WhiteRose and Bumblebee

Jason S

I hope so too. Although that may be more difficult on YT, as a bunch of reactor are getting their videos blocked becuase of the RWBY music.

Natasha Grimm

I think they've already recast him, so we're good on that front

Ferret

Hey now, don't influence her. She'll find her way to the sapphic ships in her own time. Like, it's Elijah, there's 0% chance she won't.

Wixher

It looked like you might have missed it, so just in case we actually got full names for Team JNPR as well! Jaune Arc Nora Valkyrie Pyrrha Nikos Lie Ren (Ren goes by his last name) And I'll include Team RWBY as well, for spelling purposes. Ruby Rose Weiss Schnee Blake Belladonna Yang Xiao Long

Arashi

Partially disagree. Yes, Ruby was treating the role of leader far too casually for the final school before off to real life and not giving attention to classes outside of her interests. That being said, Ruby did know how to fight Grimm (and probably weapon tech) very well. She told Weiss the weak point on the Borbatusk and Weiss did win by hitting there.

James Parry

Ruby/Weiss=partners. Yang/Blake=partners.

LikeCat

Nice profile pic

LikeCat

I mean its a fabulous one don't get me wrong, but I seriously didn't expect her to just jump over the Grimm names so easily

kywolf55

Thanks, I love this like milk drinking gremlin lol, she's been my favorite character since I first found the series way back when there were only 2 volumes

Globe Blotter

The lore that this show has, once you get there….hold on!

jessie H

Right, but her attention to details is one of the things I love watching.

Ray Knight

soundtracks could be a patreon exclusive just to avoid the youtube copyright

DungeonMosh

Weiss has one of my best arcs in this whole show imo. I am very excited to see how you react to it as it unfolds (she remains my favorite character on the show) ALSO! Cool Magnus Archives shirt!!! :D

BrightHeart

Yep, The VA was replaced by Anthony Sardinha and has already voiced Port in a few things like Chibi, Queendom etc.

Annieme

ooooh is that a magnus archives shirt? or just my wishful thinking lol

Austin

Yes however Weiss was also as knowledgeable as Ruby and most likely knew but was being distracted by Ruby mid fight, no one likes backseat commentary especially when they already know what they’re doing

Suplee215

I just began this show. I do see Weiss's point. She appears to be the most academically gifted person in school and got the air of being the one always doing as shes told for school and stuff. And when youre like that you are told you would be the one makijg decisions and stuff or someone better at that than you. Of course thats not how the world works. But a 17 year old perfect student seeing the embodiment of chaos get rewarded makes sense shell feel like a mistake was made.

Kev Rink

"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" That's the kinda energy we're looking for, Yang!
