Never before have I been more frustrated with a character being oblivious someone likes them like I have with with Jean 😂

Andrew Pineda

[Mod] Hey yall, it's come to our attention that people have now been posting SPOILERS and HEAVY HINTING/ALLUDING TO THINGS in the comments on both Patreon and Vimeo. Due to this, Elijah doesn't look at the RWBY comments anywhere anymore, so please behave moving forward. Otherwise Elijah may not want to continue interacting with the fandom.

Ray Knight

i hope you're feeling better by now!!! thank you for all your hard work pushing through the sickness to give us content! hopefully you've been able to get some rest by now though!

Klice

Hope you can recover and rest as much as you need <3

Octavia

Nice that u caught the Greek influence in pyrhhas design. The members of team jnpr are inspired by mythological figures who cross dressed in their myths. Pyrhha is Achilles, jaune is Joan of arc, Ren is Mulan, and Nora is thor.

NERD!

Yeah the rwby fandom is pretty bad about that, I'll do my best to be mum about this.

Octavia

LikeCat

Blake following the laser-pointer... Her cat insticts turning to 11.

Phineas97024

It might be better that she doesn’t search for it. Who knows what spoilers she could stumble upon.

BrightHeart

Yep, the biggest downside of the FNDM. If only patreon and vimeo comments could be moderated or Comments stickied.

Nugby

Ah, I've been looking forward to these episodes, I had a feeling you'd enjoy them, especially with that Blake and Yang convo! And sorry to hear you were sick when you recorded, I hope you're feeling better!

BrightHeart

Yeah, I wouldn't I just searched it to check and the first line of google images are all future volume related.

Rachel Mae

God the energy in the JNPR must’ve been wild. You’ve got 4 17 year olds with whatever is going on between Ren and Nora, a completely and painfully oblivious Jaune, and Pyrrha who’s too nice to be honest with her feelings for Jaune. Being 17 with a crush and trying to work out how to navigate that is already hard enough now stick them all in a room together while you go to school to learn how to fight incredibly dangerous monsters 😂😭😂

Nightowl

I will never understand this, perhaps some drive-by spoilers on YouTube (bad as they are)—but on Patreon, by people who assumedly like Elijah and her reactions? WTF are they thinking when they literally spoil both her fun watching the show and the viewers’ watching the reactions?

Andrew Pineda

[Mod] I literally JUST made a comment about how people are basically posting spoilers in the comments. Please do NOT bring up stuff like this. Thanks

bloodyshadow1

to be fair to Jaune, he does like and care about Pyrha, she's his best friend, he thinks the world of her. he just views her as a friend, there isnt' anything wrong with that evne if it's sad for Pyrha.

Philip Dunn

I can't wait till she gets to future episodes, characters, events and stories. Won't say when they happen or what they are, for obvious reasons. But still can't wait.

Martin E Melcher

Almost humanly and realistically (well as real as Remnant allows anyway)

AJ

Just stop. Some of you are determined to ruin a good thing.

Curtis Murphy

They also have 2 other connections. They all gender swapped and each of the people they are based off of has a story where they dressed up as the opposite gender for some reasons.

Andrew Pineda

[Mod] Hey @Dafydd Mac an Leigh, please do not post spoilers or heavy hints towards future things. There are spoilers being posted on Patreon AND Vimeo so please do not post stuff like this, thanks!!

Curtis Murphy

You're not subtle. You're never subtle

James Parry

HAHAH definitely not just projecting

Jason S

Vibes be vibing.

Octavia

That's... What I said isn't it?

Luke Teasdale

I forgot how much I appreciate Ruby being an awkward introvert in the second part of these 2 chapters, she is my spirit animal and I love her for it "get me out of these things and into my hood" same ruby.

yearn xiao longing

burning the candle means a lot to me, so i'm just happy you've gotten to one of the best parts of early rwby!!! hope you're feelin better not elijah <3

Ko Villa

*Sighs* My temple..... My temple dedicated to not spoil or allude to future events is crumbling with each new reaction you post. I absolutely love hearing your theories and hearing you analyze every detail no matter how small and form a theory around it. Keep up the great work Elijah!!!

Bryan Forquer

This is the episode out of all of volume 2 that I was most eager to see you react to! The Hug between Blake and Yang is definitely my favorite part of this volume!! Also I love how everyone is surprised by how strong Yang is, she is definitely the tank of the team. So glad that you got a Blake Funko pop figure also. Hope you're feeling better by now! ❤️

luutokki

Hope you feel better Elijah!

Hollyhock

This was definitely worth subscribing for, i couldn't wait any longer for the Burning the Candle reaction, it's one of my favorite episodes precisely because of how intimate that Blake and Yang scene feels, i love their connection 🥺 Thank you and get well soon!

Hollyhock

On behalf of the RWBY fandom, sorry. I think people just get so excited they lose their inhibition. Not an excuse, but an explanation. I understand if Elijah can't interact with the fans, but let's hope it doesn't have to come to that

Kitsune Kokoro

Can we not do the heavy hinting at future events please?

Kitsune Kokoro

Dafydd, Elijah isn't stupid. She is, in fact, extremely smart and perceptive. Just look at how she immediately saw that the symbol on the crates in the Black trailer matched Weiss's glyphs in the White trailer. Elijah knows that there are quite a few more volumes of RWBY that have been released. She was very fixated on that hug and its significance. And then you comment about the creator talking about doing more with that in the future. What conclusion do you expect her to draw? And do note the contextual difference between a creator talking about (at the time of recorecording) hypothetical future events, and a fan who *knows* future events drawing attention to those comments.

Athena

This is also my first time watching the show, and I can definitely tell you you aren't projecting with that gay ass wink LOL. (unless I'm also projecting...whoops) It is a CRIME we didn't get a catra/adora amity/luz esc dance scene with them tbh. Idk if the show is planning anything for them or if that moment was meant to be straight as a ruler, but either way, that was very gay of Yang haha.

bloodyshadow1

"I wouldnt' do that in a straight way," do you do anything in a straight way?

supersoaker

Use wcostream.tv if you want RWBY with the intros

AJ

I really LOVE this show. But sometimes this fandoms lack of self awareness and and entitlement makes it all too clear where it's reputation for being "Difficult" comes from.

RenaissanceM

First off! I’m sorry you’re sick, and I hope you feel better soon!❤️ Second off! Yes, the level of obliviousness we see from Jaune in these early volumes is pretty migraine inducing, so you’re dead on. 🤣👍 Third, and most importantly! Yes…you are projecting onto Yang & Blake…..but you wanna know a secret? That makes you just like all of us when we first watched these volumes. 🥰🖤💛 #Bumblebee4ever Love these reactions, Elijah! Keep it up! It’s just starting to get good. 😁👍

Liam Gradwell

Bravo Elijah for getting through this reaction with a cold. Especially since every scene with Cinder in it makes weak enough as it is. 🤣 Also, yes I loved the scene with Blake and Yang. It’s just so cute and emotional on both sides. 🥹 Ps, I would swoon if any person would winked and promised me a first dance. Yang flirts better than I do and she wasn’t even technically “trying”. 😍❤️

Jittercritter

Burning the Candle is an absolute CLASSIC, super iconic episode! RWBY may be mostly known for its awesome fight scenes and baller soundtrack but the small moments between the characters are fantastic as well, super great characterizations in these ones.

Andrew Pineda

[Mod] @Dafydd, please do not be rude to others in the chat. On behalf of Elijah and the mod team we are politely requesting that you remove your comments and stop spoiling/heavily hinting/alluding to future events. We do NOT want to spoil Elijah's experience with the show, AND if you are the reason that Elijah drops the show, then that's on you, buddy. Quit being an asshole, or we will get Elijah to block you from Patreon and revoke your access. Being here is a privilege. Do not waste it.

Kiesen

Burning The Candle is definitely one of the best episodes of the Poser Pro era of RWBY tbh. It's a classic for a reason. I wish we could've gotten the dresses Ein Lee designed for it though. And as usual, trust me Elijah we all understand why you're conflicted over Cinder. You are not alone. She's unfairly attractive and god her voice is so nice.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

@Spywi, I have been religiously careful about not posting spoilers in comments since the RWBY reactions began — far more careful than many of the folks here. If you want me to remove my comment above of course I will comply, but I take exception to being called an asshole and "rude to others in the chat" when they're the ones jumping down my throat with insults and accusations as though I'm some troll "determined to ruin a good thing" when I work so hard specifically against that. I love this show and I love seeing Elijah react to it, so I want her experience with it to be the best it can be too. But I don't react well to bullies. So if it is in your power to delete this entire thread after I've struck the parent comment, letting us all go along like it never happened, you would have my thanks.

Nektis Noir

Gotta admit it's kinda weird how Yang finally reveals she has a different mom than Ruby and that that's the reason they have different last names and drastically different appearances and Elijah kinda barely reacted despite her having that question since the Yellow Trailer lmao. Oh well, she was probably just low energy from the sickness. Hope she's feeling better ^^

Kitsune Kokoro

In fairness, there's a lot of stuff going on in that conversation

Uncle Urdnot

Please take care and get well soon

man-of-bvz1n3ss

So about that "she reminds me of a Greek or Roman warrior" thing: almost every character is inspired from some kind of mythical or folkloric figure. Pyrrha is based on Achilles, so you're right on the money.

Kitsune Kokoro

While the Burning the Candle conversation was definitely one of the highlights of this video (and rightly so), I do still want to give a shoutout to the Pyrrha vs CRDL fight. It's still one of my favorites in the series. It's not high-stakes or a pivotal moment for a person or group or anything, but it's just *fun*. I'll never get tired of seeing bullies come face to face with someone they don't pose even the slightest threat to. Also, given that Mercury was offered his pick of opponents, I would assume Pyrrha was as well. I have a feeling their treatment of Jaune was on her mind when she said something to the effect of "I'd like to go up against Team CRDL. All of them. At once." And of course proceeded to flatten them in front of their entire class.

ELS_Art

Aww sorry you’re sick! Yeah this is where RWBY really starts to hit its stride IMO. Also I will not be spoiling any ships for you but oh Boy is this gonna be a journey! I really can’t wait for you to get into the RWBY FNDM’s shipping underbelly and see how passionate people are about their pairings.🤭

Arashi

Hope you (are/will) feel(ing) better soon. If you are projecting, you are /far/ from the only one about that scene when it first came out. Still used as evidence to this day. While Blake/Yang is a favored pairing, mine is Ruby/Weiss. Although that's pretty unlikely as Weiss has shown no interest in girls and Ruby no interest anything not a weapon. :p

Beowolf Chow

Just so you are aware, the shorts on RoosterTeeth's page got new thumbnails a few years ago, and the new ones can be spoilery depending how far along in the series one is.

Tigerhawk

About your placements of the Funkos. I feel it would fit betting if Yang was on top. LOL

Jittercritter

I can’t wait for Mosco’s reaction to this episode, I want to see how similar her’s is to Elijah’s

Christopher Groenewald

I like that they didn't rush Yang and Blake's romantic subplot. They let the relationship develop naturally over the course of 9 volumes. By the later volumes it becomes pretty obvious and several characters even point it out, but Yang and Blake don't actually acknowledge their feelings for eachother until half way through volume 9. By that point they had already reached a point where they're inseparable and can't live without each other, it was just a matter of finally confronting the reason why?

Rain

I'm still not over the betrayal of not seeing the dance...give us a flashback to it in a later season at least, come on!
