hi elijah! been a fan of yours since owl house 😊 also ure the reason why i started watching arcane and rwby and oh boy i did not regret it!! I ALWAYS ADORE YOUR REACTIONS, THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME LAUGH ❤️

Ryan

It's so cool seeing Ella Purnell return to this role after her star has risen so much in the intervening three years. As the saying goes, it's like she's slipping on a pair of comfortable old shoes.

Andy

I think it's important to distinguish: Vi and Cait aren't killing anybody (as far as we know). Everybody they've gone after, even with the smoke, has just been arrested or left on the ground unable to fight but still alive and coughing Still dark! I mean, yikes. But not quite so dark as straight up murder

Liam Gradwell

I swear, Ella Purnell just owns the role of Jinx. Every line is like Oscar level of performance. I met her at London Comic Con and she was so lovely. It’s really fascinating how she sounds completely different, not just in terms of accent, but also having the certain dark and withered mentality for the voice. Jinx’s character is just peak cinema. 👏💜 I like how Elijah, as well as Mosco, have picked on Caitlin having picked up traits that Jinx had in the first season. And I did pick them out after watching it. While I do love it because I think it’s such quality writing, but I’m also terrified. It’s almost like using a double edged sword. In her pursuit of revenge, Caitlin risks becoming the one person she hates in order to kill her. We’ll just have to see how this plays out. 💙

The Akimbo Knight

Gonna be real right now, my hearts kinda skipped a beat when cait shot that target with all that rage. You could tell things were really stirring in her character

Annieme

Elijah, your attention to detail is immaculate 💜

Sushi's Snakes

The captions in the show says the name of the kid is Isha, which means one who protects

DarkGodHao

I'm so glad you made my favorite cute moment your thumbnail for this ep

Ryan

And then you watch something like Yellowjackets, Star Trek Prodigy, or Fallout, and see how well she can play a character nothing like Jinx. Her new show Sweetpea actually seems like the closest we’ll get to her playing the role in live action.

Jittercritter

The song choices in this season are SO sick, I rewatched Sucker so many times already

Ryan

Fidgey survived this episode. Fidgey will not survive episode three. And to be honest, I'm worried for chair. It is still under warranty, right? "...it was something I could fix." That line hits me way too hard...

DarkGodHao

Ok so for context, the "Grey" is the natural thick smoke that everyone in the undercity were stuck breathing for all those years, basically the smoke that Silco used in S1 to choke/threaten all the syndicate leaders during that meeting. That Smoke "demon" you were seeing is the just the nightmarish portrail of how the gas looks to someone who has been choked by that gas before but with Enforcers behind it with their glowing goggles

Jittercritter

I love how now that they have the setting and all of its basic rules established, they can go even more nuts with the stylization! Lots of awesome imagery and music sequences

Maddie G

I didn't realise why Viktor just DIPPED until I rewatched and noticed he saw Jayce's weapon blueprints next to Sky's journal. It's such a subtle detail

Luke Teasdale

lets appreciate jinx's little dance, before she goes and rips out our hearts again. also jinx's "it was something I could fix" line hurts in every way 1. because she is the reason sevika needs the arm in the first place and 2. jinx thinks she breaks everything close to her and is accepting that reality, she is becoming more confident in who she is and that is terrifying.

Kaitlyn Stewart

The opener actually changes and morphs with each episode. In this one there are 2 changes from the first. the next one there is 3

Phoenix_mercury

for all we know the smoke is slowly killing them

Brett

I have mixed feelings about the kid having Jinx as a mother figure. At least the kid will have Vi as an aunt.

og.monstr

Oh good, now we're getting the chemical warfare. Yay...

Marc Beijleveld

It definitely feels like the Arcane is using the image of Sky to make Viktor their puppet in a greater plan. But in the end Viktor is still fulfulling his dreams of saving the people of the undercity, so thats awesome to see. And watching Cait slowly turning into Jinx is pretty heartbreaking from both her own and Vi's POV. Vi could not save Powder from becoming Jinx and now she has to watch her gf and closest person to her go through the same again..

Hyrule Postman

Viktor is finally here. It's time for the glorious evolution... or, whatever they are gonna call his thing now. And yes, i also love how they keep Singed update as kind of epilogue for each episode. Really keep you on the edge of your seat and it's going to be a big thing when it comes into play

Sekiro

Mel's taken, girl. So, calm down, eat a moonpie and move on with your life. 😁

Mindflip

so ready for episode 3!!!!

.

I think the little girl's name who follows Jinx is called Isha (or well, that is what's in the subtitles when it comes to her)

.

'The one who protects' that's a great meaningful name. I like it

Jo

I wanted to point out in the opening music sequence with Jinx there's a line that says "Dirty little animals, You cannibals eat your supper" when Caitlyn called them animals in the previous episode after the attack on the memorial.

For context regarding the Grey, it's always existed in League of Legends' lore as a form of severe air pollution in Zaun, especially the lower levels. Not instantly fatal, but very unpleasant, and lengthy exposure can indeed kill people, especially if their immune system is compromised. When Silco talked about the bad air in Season 1, he was referencing the Grey. People were surprised when the Grey didn't show up in the first season because in the short stories, it was pretty much the main sign of oppression of Zaun. In Arcane it's getting more anthropomorphized than normal, but this may just be because Jinx isn't always the most rational of persons. Overall it's dangerous, but something the Undercity has lived with for a while. Because Pilties are assholes.

huefaced

Was wondering if the reason there are so many kids in the undercity now is due to the shimmer factories being so uncontrolled? Since Silco's not there to run the tight ship anymore. Good video so far!

Wibbles

The young child that follows Jinx around has my whole heart ! <3

Saiyasha

My personal theroy is that it's just the Hexcore leading Vicor, but because it has absorbed Sky , it has her image to work with. And that also then comes to your question: What does it _want?_ it wants something, it clearly meant for Victor to come here and probably to heal these people, but _WHY?_

Ulfway

I'm still curious why those thugs were chasing down children in the beginning, including the girl who joins Jinx? i assume it had to do with Jinx as all her wanted posters were also shown in the chaos..

Verdigree

I only played the very start of the card game, Legends of Runeterra, but you start as Jinx and I'm pretty sure that urchin kid is one of her cards. Ambessa was just added to League, and Warwick was just added to the card game. Coincidence? I think NOT

Patrick Munez

Probably to put into child labor

Verdigree

We did get a look inside Sky's notes after she died, there was a drawing of plants, she seemed to have come up with an idea for the problem of the plants withering after the hexcore accelerated their growth

Deerajafra

Isha! Her name means “protector”!!!!

.

I definitely think the Arcane is using Sky to speak to Viktor. In a way, it seems to make him feel better, like he has a purpose. I think the hexcore isn't bad to Viktor, as they are fused, but it is changing him. His grief with Sky is what seems to push him forward. Or, the Arcane IS Sky, since she was the first being the Arcane absorbed. It gave the Arcane a mind and identity.

Suplee215

Heimidinger's flaw is that he didn't pay attention to life outside his science. This isnt to say be isn't to blame for how life in the undercity became corrupted and was ignored. But the only way he's going to make up for it and make sure it doesn't happen again is by experiencing that life. And actively helping too and he seems to have no issue with that.

David Johnson

Talking about Zaun as a poverty area, we still see traces of decoration and architecture that says it was once a lot more like Piltover.

Wibbles

Really?? Omg, I love her 1000x more.

Ross Jennings

After that bit at 10:55 in the video, Jinx now owes Elijah a soda.

silverarrow06

Regarding the smoke, I don't think Cait created it. I think she knows about it, thanks to her mothers legacy, and manipulates the ventilation system to direct it to their advantage. I'm not sure if Caitlyn is aware of it, but I, too, think it is more than just trapped factory smog from the fissures. I think someone (or something) is messing with it. We've seen Singed using a smoke bomb with that green fog to attack the wolves and a green fluid of the same shade is seen all over the underground (in Rennys nose, in powering the Arcade shooting range, powering artificial limbs)...🤔 I guess shimmer and Jinx being used to this kind of smog are the reasons it doesn't affect her as much as it does others. We've seen it causing hallucinations. I knew you would love the arm Jinx made for Sevika...🤩 It is practically Jinx whole personality molded into that arm. Of course it had to have music, fireworks and a built-in slot machine...😂 If Sevika is wearing that thing all the time though, she will walk pretty lopsided soon. It goes almost down to the ground and looks really heavy. P.S.: I'm worried about Jinx' adorable little apprentice too...🙈 P.P.S.: Regarding the attack of the memorial it occured to me just now, that the fake enforcer didn't try to kill Mel Medarda, even though she was unprotected and helpless in that moment. If Ambessa actually is behind the attack it would make sense to take care that her daughter isn't harmed during the fight...🤔

Robin NW

I think that Jinx is feeling a lot better because we can't see her trauma responses of graffiti over the screen or the voices in our head anymore

Robin NW

Love and hate the parallel with Caitlyn and Jinx not wanting to let go of their parents, but have two because they're dead

Bailey

I'm late watching this because I wanted to rewatch season 1 and watch these episodes before your reactions, but goddamn, this episode was incredible. Like season 1 was really good, but ultimately a lot of it was establishing things for the overall story. This episode alone feels like so much more happened than most season 1 episodes. They've also been using more 2D/3D blending in the animation, and I'm always a fan of that. Also Jinx is easily my favourite character in this show. Such a tragic character, twisted by trauma... honestly relatable... Edit: Also omg is that a DVD box set for season 1? It looks so cool! Plus it'd be nice to support the show more. I think Arcane is genuinely in my top 10 fave shows. At least top 15, but probably top 10, I should make an official list at some point...

Eliteguard99

We're getting fucking BIBLICAL with that ending scene.
