Symbolic Remnant

I love how this show has Mass-Destruction Cultists as villains but the villains the audience hates most are just the relatively realistic shitty/abusive people. Edit 2: It was a braid of the long-ass variety... he just happens to have a matching Scorpion Tail he hid until now Final Edit: "Damn" has been said in RWBY before, but "Bitch" is definitely an escalation. Edit: Also girl, what are you doing showing your foot on camera, don't you know what kind of place the internet is!?

Alyx V

YAY! Can't wait to see your reaction to all of this!

Donovan "Ravenhull"

Weiss’s singing voice is Casey Lee Williams, the main singer for the soundtrack.

Octavia

Im so looking forward to the day when we get two rwby reactions a week. We are coming up and so much good stuff soon

Andy

If you like Henry Marigold's design but maybe not so much his attitude, you're gonna LOVE his cousin

Jason S

Casey has done some incredible songs. Many of which are still to come. But 'This Life is Mine' is by far my favourite of the entire series.

Jason S

22:55 I never noticed before, and I don't know if it's deliberate or a mistake, but Oscar's reflection is moving in the opposite way it's supposed to move.

FullmetalNinja25

Keep in mind Ruby and co. were trained to fight Grimm, not humans or faunus. Tyrian is a seasoned fighter and Ruby, Jaune, Ren and Nora are not lol.

LikeCat

I missed THE line in a later volume the first time I watched it... Since then I learnt it.

Verdant Crown

Qrow and team RNJR vs Tyrian is a really cool fight. Something about Qrow losing his weapon and just shrugging and sucker-punching Tyrian instead is so funny. If you rewatch the fight after you learn more about a matter that concerns a certain character, you'll have a new understanding for the things Qrow says during the battle and some of the stuff that happens while they fight.

NatMcK7

I hate Weiss's dad so much >:(

Sam Macias

[MOD] Hello there @kiesen in your comment you do talk about future events that happen in the series which are considers spoilers to Elijah. It would be appreciated if you can edit or delete your post to exclude anything that talks about what will be coming up down the road. Thank you

S.K. Kramer

As far are the timeline, Team RNJR left Ruby's home sometime in the winter, in December or early January and volume 4 takes place during the Spring. So it's been a few months. Their journey involved leaving Patch, in the kingdom of Vale, and having to sail to another continent, the continent of Anima, where the kingdom of Mistral is located. And now they're walking across a giant continent. Also, I love how good RWBY is at establishing how you should feel about characters very quickly. Jacques has really only been in 3 scenes up to this point, and I already can't stand the motherfucker. Adam has had one real scene that involves him, and in that one scene they made me despise the man.

bloodyshadow1

i think yang would be mosco's favorite character. A tall muscular superstrong blonde woman who sometimes wears a ponytail and boots, something tells me yang would appeal to her

Verdant Crown

I would honestly be surprised if there's a single person that likes Jacques Schnee. I do feel a bit bad for Whitley though, even if he acts like a slimy little jerk. He's the youngest sibling who saw what happened to his "rebellious" older sisters, so he decided to align himself with the abuser who holds the power in their family so that he wouldn't face the same fate as them. Jacques isn't exactly the best role model and so far in the show their mother has only ever been mentioned or appeared in pictures.

Rachel Mae

Henry Marigold aka Discount Neptune! And god the lady talking about Vale being arrogant for not having “proper kingdom defense” is even more stupid when you consider that half of Atlas’ military was in Vale and was made to look like complete fools by Salem’s team. There’s a dude in the background behind Weiss who makes a hilarious face when she’s yelling though. He’s just hiding behind his drink with his eyes like 😳 The way they hinted at Oz’s situation all the way back in volume 1 chapter 3: Ruby: what’s it about? Your book does it have a name? Blake: well it’s about a man with two souls each fighting for control over his body And it certainly gives a new perspective to their plan to shunt Amber’s soul into Pyrrha and why Oz seemed especially guilt ridden about it As much as it sucks that team rwby is separated the experience of going “oh hai!! I missed you!!! 🥰🥰” every time it switches to someone else’s perspective never gets old Jacques… when I catch you Jacques🔪🔪🔪

Flufux

The conversation with Ren about the unfinished town was kinda strangely worded, but basically what it meant was that it wasn't the Grimm as a whole that destroyed the town, it was A Grimm...as in a single Grimm, one in particular that is way more scary than the rest.

Phoenix_mercury

yeah, people seem to not reasilse that once weiss left it was literally just Whiltley, his rarely seen mother and his actively abusive father(and staff but....)

Phoenix_mercury

reminds me of hazbin and Val vs Al, people hate one and not/more than the other bcz one is realistic and one isnt

Fusssel

Being impressed by the song of Weiß I am again all for you reacting to the RWBY songs. There are quite a few bangers there. Then you can listen to the full version of "This life is mine" (the song from episode 6.

Moonas

I would love to see soundtrack reaction after every Volume, they are copyright free and have a lot of content about world and character's thoughts. Besides FlyntofRWBY have a lot of very good lyrics videos (vol 1-9) with fanarts that telling you who is singing that (or if it is spoiler then it just random art). Highly recommended.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Fun Fact: Oscar's voiced by Aaron Dismuke, who starred with Qrow's VA in the English dub of the original Fullmetal Alchemist (2003). Travis Willingham (Grog Strongjaw) was also in that cast.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

The one that Ren was referring to is a certain Creature of Grim that attacked that unfinished town.

Verdant Crown

We still have a few episodes left until this volume is over, but if there is at least one song in the whole show that I think a lot of us would absolutely love to see a reaction to it's Bmblb. It would be pretty much perfect to do it together with Weiss, Blake and Yangs character shorts right before starting volume 5. The fact that they even released this song, especially with the timing in the show itself and the characters that it's "implied" to be about, felt mind blowing at the time and it would be such an incredible shame for a first time watcher of RWBY to miss out on that experience.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Also, listen to the songs in these episodes again: Weiss is explicitly calling out her father and his BS in front of all of Atlas high society and getting applauded for it; Qrow's song incorporates his leitmotif, which we've been hearing since he was introduced early in volume 3, and gives it some interesting lyrics.

LikeCat

,,Bad Luck Charm" is a banger... Poor Qrow.

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

Also also, I am in total agreement that your girlfriend should watch RWBY. I will go ALL OUT on the fake spoilers for her. >:D

Martin E Melcher

Qrows voice is great but his VA did some gross shit i guess. They do change it after that comes to light and it still fits fairly well, hardly noticeable imo, but we'll get there when we get there

BGTitan

Episode 6: So the timeline after the Fall of Beacon has always been a bit wonky. The writers gave a vague "it takes place between 3 and 6 months after the Fall of Beacon" when asked. Not helped that each character is kind of on their own timeline. Regardless, it's been not too long after the events of V3, with I think Blake's timeline being the closest to that still. The difference between Casey's singing voice and Kara's normal voice for Weiss is so funny. And we heard Weiss sing before in her trailer. Casey Lee Williams, who does most of the singing for the soundtracks along with her father Jeff, is Weiss' official singing voice. I love the art for that painting of Beacon. It's so good. And I love that Weiss saw it and immediately wanted to go look at it because Beacon was probably the happiest she'd ever been and it's where her friends were. And now it's all... gone. So Henry was given the nickname "Shitty Neptune" by the crew during production. I also like Discount Neptune myself as a name for him. First off, meet the NPC known as Trophy WIfe. And yay, we love people just casually saying the people that died in Vale during the Fall deserved it because of a "lack of proper Kingdom defense" and not, you know, realizing that the whole thing was an orchestrated attack by outside forces. I understand that the general public doesn't know the truth of what happened but the ignorance on display here is truly astounding. Absolutely wild. Also, yay! Weiss finally fully summoned something! It was an accident but still let's go! It was also the Boarbatusk Grimm she killed in Professor Port's class back in V1. Another time when she was feeling frustrated and undermined. Huh. A detail I've always liked is that each section of the episode ends with the girls looking up at their respective family member, but while Weiss looks up in fear at Jacques, Ruby looks up at Qrow in relief. Episode 7: Oscar is based on the true name of the Wizard in most media, Oscar Diggs. But yeah, so Cinder actually did kill Oz, but he's now invading the mind of this kid. Poor Oscar. I guess it depends on your definition of the phrase "curse word" but the first curse word we got was "Damn" back in V3 with Qrow and Coco in episodes 3 and 4. And then also again with Jacques earlier this episode. But this is indeed the first use of the word "bitch." I like that Tyrian's eyes turn purple when he's gonna poison someone. "What's your favorite fairytale?" Same thing Oz asked Pyrrha before he gave her the downlow on all the Maiden business. Anyway, geez sorry this comment is so long, I didn't realize I had so much to say about episode 6.

Rachel Mae

They definitely aren’t copyright free??? Elijah has mentioned she’s been listening to the soundtracks on her own time but has no plans to do a reaction to them

.

About your comment on the lady talking shit, it just goes to show how ignorant and uninformed they all are on what happened to Vale and Beacon. Weiss bursting out only makes more sense.

Liam Gradwell

Yep Elijah. I think we can all agree Weiss’s dad sucks so much! And that Qrow is a badass. 🥳❤️🌹

Phoenix Rising

Hey there friend! I broke down a timeline in another video but in case you need help here you go! Blake’s is the longest starting about a few days to a week after the fall of Beacon. Weiss’ story starts about 2ish months after the fall of Beacon. Ruby’s journey starts at least 3 months after the fall of Beacon because we see an entire season pass since she leaves home. And Yang is about 4 months since the fall given we know Ruby has been gone for a while until she starts training again. In Vol 5 things get even more complicated so I’ll give that timeline then 😁

RenaissanceM

I love Ren’s description of what happened to Oniyuri. Just like Dr. Oobleck’s discussion with Ruby about what happened at Mountain Glen, you really get this sense that Humanity has only managed to survive by the skin of its teeth. Just imagine what growing up in a world filled with literal evil murderous monsters does to your psyche. Yeah, it’s passively accepted, and yes you can train to fight them, but….it’s pretty much a tragedy every day.

LikeCat

The lietmotifs in this show (and the songs in general) are so well crafted... And Casey's voice is so beautifull to add to it.

Rachel Mae

Had the realization that since Erin Winn’s signature is on that painting that means *technically* Erin Winn is not just part of crwby but also a canonical character in the rwby-verse lol

pneuma163

Volume 4 is just. so. good! Yeah, Weiss's singing voice (provided by Casey Lee Williams) deserves that kind of reaction. We appreciate Casey here.

Butterfly Warrior

Fun fact: During the Qrow vs Tyrian fight, a lot of us theorized Tyrian may be partially or completely blind, and sees through vibrations, like an actual scorpion. This may be why he didn’t go straight for Qrow and just stood there while Qrow went to go grab his sword back. Also a little theory I just came up with upon rewatch, if Tyrian is blind, I think he also somehow senses aura. He seems to take special interest in Jaune, who funnily enough, has the most aura in the group. I know I probably don’t have much legs to stand on with this theory, but upon multiple rewatches of this show, it makes sense to me.

BGTitan

I thought that was Erin’s work but I wasn’t sure! Always good to see their work for the show!

Hi-Viz

The map was supposed to be destroyed in the fight but they couldn't work it out so they just had them drop it

Nektis Noir

For a good few chapters when V4 was airing, there was a lot of criticism going around of "The fights are so meh now", "You can really feel Montys absence in the choreography", etc. And yes, the fights weren't as good for a bit there but you can tell they were still adjusting to the new animation software. Then Qrow vs Tyrian happened and all the critics shut up for a good while cause HOT DAMN that fight is good shit lol

Bryan Forquer

Yeah, Qrow is pretty awesome! He's a lot like Dante from the video game Devil May Cry(one of my favorite games). Qrow is definitely one of my favorite characters! Always look forward to your reactions each week! ❤️🤍🖤💛

Nektis Noir

"Qrows voice is so good" While I do agree... there's a small problem in that it's Vic Mignogna, who was exposed to have sexually harassed several fans and colleagues. Thankfully he's recast in a later volume though and his new voice does great as well.

TakeOnLana

Seems pertinent to note that Tyrian's tail couldn't have been cut off earlier in the fight because his aura would have shielded it - when Qrow and Tyrian left the collapsed house, you see their aura flicker, signifying that it is weak and that they are vulnerable. Aura is the reason that blows that would realistically be fatal do not harm characters in RWBY up until that character has already been significantly weakened in fighting.

man-of-bvz1n3ss

Tyrian's basically the Joker if the Joker was a scorpion man. Fun fact: Jacques is wearing a clip-on tie!

man-of-bvz1n3ss

I'm not sure if Elijah remembers Aura from way back when it was explained in V1.

Shiiroo

I'm begging you to react to the v4 ost when you finish watching v4 itself, it will give great insights on the characters thoughts and feelings. The osts develop even further the characters.

pneuma163

I'll mention that you are now caught up enough to watch all but the last World of Remnant shorts (in a week or two you'll be fully caught up for them). The World of Remnant is not a separate story but rather provides useful lore insights and information that are common knowledge in the RWBY universe which means it covers things that the characters know, that they base their decisions, thoughts, and actions off of. It's very helpful context.

pneuma163

Well, he is in fact the scorpion from the frog and the scorpion fable, so it's not a bad comparison.

Arius

One of my favorite fights as Qrow is one of my fav characters period. He is such a badass and should be considered one of the best living swordsmen Hunters if he isn't already. I love how he protects Yang and Ruby, puts his life on the line for them. Also... Qrow was AURA FARMING when he walked to get that sword, without saying a word he was like back tf off. Make sure you pay attention to when their auras flicker and fade like you saw when Ruby was slashed and kicked the red flickers over her body. Then Qrow and Tyrian when they left that broken house, until that happens you cant really deliver hits to their actual bodies. Its like a shield, they explained it in earlier volumes you prob just forgot in the heat of the moment. I didnt like Whitley from the beginning either, and her father is a real doorknob.

Arius

When is he recast? I never knew that happened

Arius

Casey does amazing music for the show

Nektis Noir

Starting with Volume 7, he's voiced by Jason Liebrecht

Fusssel

I don’t know about copyright free, there are some people who reacted to them but on the other hand that was before the rights to RWBY got bought/before the RT collapse

Crow

Fuck Jacques Schnee and his clip-on tie!

Cinder's Apologist

*cackles maniacally* yessss let the anger fester. let it grow... but seriously, welcome to RWBY where the plot kicks in, full steam ahead and with much angst and pain! and welcome to the Everybody Hates Jacques Club. it's nice to see you immediately understood why Weiss was the way she was back at the beginning of the show. can't blame you for being in awe of Qrow. they sure made the most out of his Cool Dude vibe in Chibi btw. too bad his VA was a real POS... anyway, looking forward to the next part!

LikeCat

Qrow in Volume 7... Is something else.

Phoenix_mercury

On the Jacque part: clicks on why Weiss was the way she was... Doesn't connect the dots to why Whitley acts as he does🤦🤣

Phoenix_mercury

Also that said blood thirsty murderous monsters are literally attracted to negative emotions... Like yikes

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

I have Qrows chest on the back of my car. The people who know, let me know, and that's how I know they are my people. He is in my top 3 favorite characters from comics, animation or both.

Hollyhock

I assure you, no one blames you for roasting Jacques. In fact feel free to do it more XD

Jittercritter

I love the Tyrian vs Qrow fight because it really shows the difference between the kids’ skill level vs a Huntsman/Huntsman level fighter. Don’t get me wrong, our kids are talented. But they fought Tyrian 4v1 and lost. Qrow is much more efficient with his movements than they are, they tend to overshoot dodges and just generally move to much whereas Qrow and Tyrian, while they do move a lot and very quickly, all of their movements have clear purpose and goals. They seem to regulate their energy a lot more, and they’re smarter with the environment as well. I also have a theory that aura control and regulation has something to do with why the kids get tired faster, but obviously there’s no way to know that since that’s something internal and RWBY doesn’t really do internal dialogue after the first few episodes of season 1 (which I personally think was a mistake, I can think of many moments that would have benefitted from internal debate and deliberation). Also yeah I knew you’d crashout when Jacques hit Weiss. Sir she could kill you. Also the audacity of him to act all obsessive over the family name and legacy when he isn’t even a Schnee by blood himself is unhinged, what a self absorbed POS. Also we get 2 milestones for this episode! We see Ruby being the most violent we’ve ever seen her be, intentionally dismembering someone (even if it was done purely to disable Tyrians most dangerous weapons and not as retaliation for poisoning Qrow, it’s still the biggest injury we’ve seen Ruby give anyone, and she didn’t hesitate or regret it at all! What an icon). AND we get the first (unless you count ‘damn’) swear word.

LikeCat

The amount of crazy stuff that happened (and will happen), there could be times when the fake-spoilers are much lighter in tone than the acual things that happen.

Sarah Nara

Elijah if there's one soundtrack you react to please let it be this season's there are so many bangers on it

Alexis Cardillo

Yes! We got another Qrow fan here! I was hoping you would like him, he's one of my all time favorite characters. If you haven't already on your own now would be the great time for you to watch the World of Remnant videos, gives more insight on the world building, a the video about the kingdoms and the Snchee family history would really give you more insight

Suplee215

The city isnt worth finishing because what is to stop the same thing from happening?

Silverbell_TTV

"Sir, where is your pelvis?" xD Hehe, Elijah you crack me up. ^_^

Charlee's World

The moment he slapped his daughter he needs to die
