I’m just imagining the Nightmare showing up in Weiss’ head and being giddy because there is so much messed up stuff to play around with in there. Can’t even imagine if it had gotten hold of Blake like frick me. As expected of a dream world there’s a lot of symbolism going on. Jacques sees all and looms over everything, an oppressive figure. Willow is a shadow, a spectator in her own family, no better than the common strangers in the town… and that’s being generous. Whitley is a spy, someone that Weiss does not necessarily trust. And Winter is literally The Book. She is what Weiss aspires to be, to impress, the rule book with which she wishes to follow. Then Nicholas is basically someone to worship. Their version of Hail Hydra I guess, and twisted away from what the original intent was given what little we know about Nick from the WORs and main show. And what a clever way to reference the Shadow People of V1 by the way. Also I think Ruby's design in the Dream World looks so cozy. I remember seeing a theory/headcanon when this was airing. Weiss is wearing aviators, and we've only ever seen one other person wear aviators in this series. So the headcanon I saw was that Weiss secretly admires Yang and wishes her own sister treated her a little more like how Yang treats Ruby, and so this is her incorporating a bit of Yang into her presentation. Again, just a headcanon/theory but.... I'm all for it. I assure you, most comments about Klein when he showed up back in V4 were about the Seven Dwarfs thing.

This was one of the reasons I didn't care much for this show to an extent, she was way more childlike in this series than the way she is portrayed in actual show, yes she still had her moments but it felt way more in Ice Queendom, the way she used the coins left and right, while if it were the Ruby from the actual show, she would have used them more sparingly at least that is how I see the differences between the two series, but that just my opinion. I have to say though that the animation style is perfect, I loved the look of each character.

You only just got that Klein is based off of the 7 dwarfs....I am dying....they even showed us all 7 personalities in an episode of Chibi....awesome...it is good that you got to find out yourself to be honest idk if I got it on my own or saw it in the comments of a reaction

If it makes you feel better, it took me a long time to realise the fairy tale motifs were a thing. It took the introduction of Robyn Hill and the Happy Huntresses for me to get suspicious and Cinder’s wicked step-family for me to fully catch on.

Elijah (despondent): (sad lesbian silence) The conceit of exploring the trauma of the character through their nightmares would honestly work for any one of the main cast, but it works so well with Weiss. I'm sure there are fan-fics for the rest...

Snowboarder Ruby has actually been a fandom belief, along with skateboarder Ruby, due to the food fight scene in Volume 2! During the fight, we see Ruby use a food tray to skate atop the tables, so even Monty hinted that she would be a boarder of some kind. Now we just need to see Ruby surfing.

Jacques is a French name, not German, it's a major hint that he doesn't belong as the head of the Schnee family. Interestingly, Willow, Whitley, and Winter are all names of English origin, while Weiss is German, and Nickolas is actually Greek in origin, but he was clearly named after the German legend of Saint Nickolas, aka Santa Claus, so that was the logic of Weiss's name being German, and a hint that she is the rightful heir to the Schnee family.

We don't actually know this is true since we've never seen Ruby handle any kind of monetary transactions in Volumes 1-3. Not even in later volumes. The only transaction we see Ruby making is giving away her Mother's emblem to the Teapot lady. She used her keepsake as currency.

Does this mean you haven't been watching Mosco's reacts to the show? She has spoken about Klein being the 7 Dwarfs multiple times in them. lol Also Winter is based off the Snow Queen which is what fairytale Frozen is based off of however the original story is very different from the Disney movie. In the original tale, it was about two orphan children and one of them is a boy named Kai who gets placed under a spell to turn against the other and work for the enemy. Whitley is based off Kai. Also should be noted that I am pretty sure the way Kai is placed under the spell is by getting a mirror shard in his eye which ties back into Weiss's theme having to do with mirrors a lot.

kudos to you for figuring out details so quickly! definitely quicker than I did on the first viewing or two lol LMAOOOO DID YOU LITERALLY JUST FIGURE OUT THAT KLEIN IS ALL THE SEVEN DWARFS?? that is hilarious. I mean, hopefully you knew that Weiss is Snow White (which kinda matters here)... also LOL thank you Mosco for pointing out how the Schnees are all trauma responses to Jacques' abuse! but seriously, don't take it too hard. I've watched RWBY many times by now and I'm still finding out new things or new ways to understand the characters or the narrative. it's such a narrative rich story and thus so much fun to constantly mine. one thing I do love about IQ is how it highlights what Nicholas Schnee means to Weiss, because yes, he is mentioned only briefly in the main show and it's a real shame. we only have a meager idea as to what he was like and how Weiss feels about her grandfather, so it is good that IQ went a bit farther in exploring that part of her family tree. kinda valid to be annoyed with Ruby for burning through her dream tokens, but hey, she IS still a kid and this is just an exploratory trip inside Weiss's dreamscape. she's just doing a preliminary search to get a lay of the land before they send the whole team in. Team CRDL being in the Sillies Jail is an amusing side detail, even though yes, they should be in asshole prison XD yeahhhh... what Shion said about dreams? keep that in mind. it matters a lot for this story. and admittedly, it might take a couple viewings to remember what is Real here... oh. you should have been around to see the fandom reacting to "Dictator Weiss"... it was something else lmao

Yeah, as someone whose best girl has been Weiss since the White Trailer, this anime was made for me with how deep it gets into her. heck, her appearance even states so much. She doesn't have her scar, and her hair is tied back instead of off to the side. It shows how she is "perfect" and unmarred, as well as someone who is in line with her father's desires who doesn't go against him.
