On the whole MT pronouns thing, the creator of the show said they’re a trans person but cartoon network wasn’t super chill with that since the network already didn’t like the show. So most fans use either they or she since that’s what the show does.

Ryan

Not only does this setup mean we hang on to Ashley Johnson in a lead role, but we also get a lot more of Bradley Whitford and Ben Mendelsohn, and just in the first episode they already add a ton, giving the sense that these guys have some kind of life outside the job of tracking down "slivers" even if we never see it. It's also a hoot to hear Johnson get to play the annoyed straight man to Jesse's enthusiasm, a stark contrast to her playing Tulip and actually a lot closer to her most famous role as Ellie in The Last of Us.

MT is considered Trans according to Series Creator Owen Dennis.

David Johnson

It could be they/them, I'm honestly unsure myself. But remember, these Mirror Cops only see MT as a *reflection* of Tulip, not their own person, no matter what the gender. "MT" = "Mirror Tulip."

Ashley Silver

MT is intended as a trans allegory and uses She/They pronouns

xattygt

Mt was meant to be trans but cartoon network wasn't ok with is so he went with she/they

Appletree

For the longest time I thought Mosco was the name of your dog until I realised it was another person

Miss_Miranda_S

If you miss one-one in this season as much as I do, there’s a whole bunch of infinity train shorts with him that you can watch! Some are on YouTube still :)

So their pronouns were SUPPOSED to be they/them, but network interference. You'll continue to notice them avoid and dislike being called a girl through the series, and the only ones that really continuously use she/her pronouns for them are the villains that don't think they're a person.

super excited to get started on season 2! and omg I love that unicorn blanket (snuggy?) it's super adorable and looks really comfy! where did you get it? I need one too... this episode really highlights how most of us would take reflections for granted. they really are just everywhere. nightmare inducing stuff for MT. also I love that deer so much. the animators definitely had fun with him. jesse is a pretty good character as well. I don't have a ton to say about him right now, but he's a pretty good character. I'm excited to see your reactions to this season. I've only watched the first 2 seasons myself, but I've seen the first few of Moscoe's reactions to season 3.

Just don't question the Deer, it just does what it does

og.monstr

Gettin' the impression that SusDeer's a glitch...

Feels like "MT" being phonetically similar to "empty" feels thematically relevant, like to their journey and search for identity and all that, but at the same time I could just be reading too much into that particular detail.

Terrell

that's actually a really clever way they went about it

DarkGodHao

There's no real serious mysteries left for this show, Tulip in S1 basically revealed pretty much the entire functionality of the Infinity Train, now each season basically falls to what personal issues each passenger is facing is what brought them onto the train

MT is a trans allegory. Most of the fans refer to them as they/them. They are very much written to be nonbinary and/or transmasc. Notice how OTHER people refer to MT as a girl, but not MT themself. Other people are forcing MT into a box that they don't want to be in and through this season, they will become their own person instead of the person everyone else wants them to be. The creator said he wanted to write a trans character, but wasn't allowed to, so he got creative in making a really deep trans allegory that would be able to get past executives, but pretty much any trans person watching it picks up on the allegory, myself included.
