Was not expecting this reaction so soon, but hell yeah I'm excited for it! Looking forward to the next episode's reaction too. Having seen the episode and your post about it, I know that one will be a ton of fun too Edit: RIP your chair... a moment of silence for it...

Rainbow Moth

Love Lucifer lots already!!!!! I see why he's Viv's favorite next to Alastor.

Vince

the way I jumped the fuck on this 😂 i’m so here for it

Rainbow Moth

The man in the picture with Lucifer is Frederick von Eldritch. The father of Seviathan von Eldritch, Charlie's ex-boyfriend.

Ryan

If you didn't have daddy issues before watching this episode, some will be assigned to you, like listening to Cat's In The Cradle on repeat for hours (or Tangled Up Puppet if you prefer). "Oh, you like girls! So do I! We have so much in common!" "I hate when guys do that!" Guilty... I used to joke my first girlfriend broke up with me because we had "too much in common." "Is this true or is he doing it to piss off Lucifer for some reason?" Why not both? Alastor's ...dramatic reaction to Husker's verbal jab definitely means there's someone pulling his strings. The most obvious answer is Lilith, but that begs the question... why? How did he fall under her sway? And his rivalry with Lucifer suggests that Lilith has ... plans for Hell. Contradictions? In religion? Never! You're reacting to episode six right now and all I can say is ... Revelation 2:10 - "Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer."

Wolfwarrior219

Plz upload your reaction to episode 6 right away I can't wait for it

Thunter

Awesome reaction as always! Just wanted to let you know that there’s a song that recently released on YouTube called Thank You and Goodnight that’s sung by the original cast of Hazbin! Not sure if it’ll be good reaction content or not since it’s just lyrics at the moment, but I recommend at least checking it out on your own!

Ryan

"Sweetie, are you okay? You don't look okay." Meanwhile Mosco just got done saying that while you were trying to see who's in the picture.

Robbie Thornton

I’m so looking forward to watching this!

Peluche

Omg one detail I loved was when Charlie has her little demon form moment when she’s stressed, the ground shakes a bit before that!!! Charlie is so so powerful and I’m so excited to hopefully see it soon. Also I’ve also been a Exterminator Vaggie truther forever now so I feel you 😭😭 it’s just been such a good angsty sapphic theory. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the next ep !!

GEM

Strong Step-dad vs Actual Dad energy going on in this episode.

CrimsonKing420

fun fact: mimzie is voiced by spinel

K_Dilly

After watching this episode, I fully believe that Lilith might be inside the radio. Something weird is going on. Also, Lucifer might be obsessed with ducks because that's the last thing he showed Charlie before she was taken from him.

BigPoppaJohn89

I have some theories 1. I believe that Alaster is a Wendigo 2. I think Niffty is a Overlord like Husk

Sekiro

In which we FINALLY meet the Devil Daddy of hell himself.

BigPoppaJohn89

your reaction to the "Hey, Bitch" and the "HA HAAAH Fuck You!" were priceless

Flufux

Theory: Lucifer only agreed to allowing the exterminations because sparing Charlie or Lilith was part of the deal. Lute mentioned in episode 1 that Charlie and Lucifer were pardoned from an exorcist blade, and there's probably a reason for that.

The Akimbo Knight

Ok out of curiosity did anyone else here get bad ptsd/flashbacks when they saw husk chained up and cowering. Felt so damn bad for the dude 😓

Devi Kasen

oh i did i just stopped watching for a good five minutes and just silently screamed

ELS_Art

Alastor while arguable a super cool designed character is a Horrible fucking person and seeing how he treats Husk honestly makes him one of my most hated characters next to Val. I mean it’s amazing how many people forget he is a serial killer, cannibal. Until it is proven one way or another I will die on the hill that he is just being a manipulative SOB. I trust Vaggie.

Phoenix_mercury

Al's no where near as bad as Val, tf. No one's forgetting he's a serial killer 🤦, we have no evidence that he's doing this because Lilith owns his soul that's just one of many theories, we already know he can be manipulate AF so that's just beating a dead horse

Athena

Tbh, I'm at such a toss up with believing if Alastor is actually "so sweet" like Mimzy says, or if he's got ulterior motives. He showed some loyalty to the hotel at the end when he told her off, but what if he just did that because he's meant to protect the hotel, for some reason? (Then again, what if he's doing it for an actually good reason?) That being said- tbh, his treatment of Husk is what's preventing me from being at all trustworthy of his motives. Who knows how often he treats him like that, and based on Husks reaction, he's dealt with that treatment before. Perhaps by helping Angel, Husk thought he could start to stand up to Alastor. Big mistake, our poor boy nearly got cooked <//3 I don't see Alastors treatment of husk as that much better than Vals towards Angel, and while I don't think they're comparable (yet), I don't enjoy the take that Alastor was in his right to threaten Husk like that. Valentino might be horribly treating Angel, but Alastor is threatening to cause eternal suffering towards Husk, if the screams on the radio are anything to go by. (Since I assume he doesn't flat out kill them, considering only blessed weapons can kill them) and that is horrifying! I don't think I will ever trust Al or think of him as being at all 'wholesome' or 'sweet' until he stops abusing Husk. (and, y'know, even then. He...IS a serial killer cannibal SKDJSK. So I honestly didn't expect the show to at all try to redeem him, but we'll see)

O5-69

I wouldn't say he's as terrible as Val. Both are horrible people, but Al at least seems to usually go after people he thinks deserve to suffer. Keyword "usually." Plus, he's badass

demonic-myst

Agreed i think the exstermination may been punishment for his attempt at redeeming souls

demonic-myst

Wendioes are ot demons their native american spirit’s and its confirmed he was a sinner literaly in this episode mimzy says when they were alive they ran in same circles

demonic-myst

Charlies phone is filled with powerful demons wow Azzazzel one the generals of the fallen angels gregori from the book of enoch and barbbatos a goecia demon and balphagor the sincof sloth

BlindEyiezz Z

My working theory is that Alastor is under contract with Lilith to keep Charlie safe, which partially explains his sudden appearance at the hotel. He’s either keeping that obligation for so and so reasons or he’s with Charlie in attempts to find a way to break it

Peluche

W*ndigo's are very very culturally specific creatures so it wouldn't be great if he was something like that. I think it'd be better if he's something else.

Megan

I'm leaning towards the latter. No way he's not scheming to be let off the leash.

AnakiK

There is sooooooo much going on in this episode. I appreciate the Dad vs Stepdad dynamic of Lucifer vs Alastor, but there's definitely more to it. Alastor seemed determined to keep Lucifer away from Charlie, (and thanks to Husk's suspicious line) almost like he was ordered to.

Liam Gradwell

Anyone with Daddy Issues, speak up!

og.monstr

Yeah, Elijah, you make THE point: unconditional love, free will and eternal torment doesn't add up. Actually, even if that sort of awful god did exist, why should anyone care if he loves us? That's just messed up! Nobody asked for it.

Narluga

Quick rant, So i think Alastor made deals when he was alive and that's how he got his power in the beginning. Then he fought fox and almost beat him so the rest of the v's stepped in and helped run Alastor out of town. He runs into Lilith and they either fight and he loses to her. It takes seven years to break him enough to force him into selling his soul to her. Then comes to the hotel on her orders to protect Charlie. Or he willing gives his soul to gain more power and his her dog for seven years doing her bidding until she tasks him with protecting Charlie. Then lastly the batshit theory is that he fell for Lilith and they spent seven years together and he willing gave his soul to her and she sends him to protect Charlie and that's why he doesn't seem to like lucy. While husker makes it seem like a bad thing with his leash comment, it could be that alastor is really defensive of her.

BigPoppaJohn89

putting culture specific aside, it would make sense when he's shows he's true self with the long arms long legs long antlers and he makes elk sounds in that form and he's a cannibal he eats demons and deer just like the game Until Dawn and the movie Antlers

GEM

Question: did anyone else notice the golden fiddle from that time Lucifer went down to Georgia?

CarcosanTimeshare

This was fun, by I'm DYING for the episode 6 reaction.

KyleIronheart

You think Al made a deal with Lilith while he was alive? Because if Lilith can empower her people with song then who wouldnt want a demon that can transmit that voice everywhere on his own

Vex Valor

I think Lilith owns Alastor's soul. Possibly he tried to take her down as well and failed. And the reason Alastor is at the hotel is because Lilith sent him with the orders to "protect and help Charlie as if she were his own daughter" thus he is acting to fulfill the role he was given like an actor playing the role of father to an actress in a TV show when they aren't actually father and daughter.

SauceyRed

Oh I thought that was Seviathan lmao Didn't know we knew the name of his father (unless it's misinformation?), I've only ever known of Seviathan.

Matthew Nations

This is the episode that got me on the "Vaggie is a fallen angel" train.

Brett

Me too

Brett

Right away

Eliteguard99

Me a week ago: I don't think there will be a more emotional song than Whatever It Takes in this show. Me listening to More Than Anything: *non-stop river of tears* this is so fucking sweet, OMG I just can't...

ShreddedNinja

I think Alastor is flexing the dad/daughter dynamic with Charlie because usually, Alastor is the most powerful person wherever he goes and is constantly flexing that power to remind people he's better than them. The problem is with Lucifer around; Alastor isn't the strongest there and can't flex his power because it wouldn't intimidate Lucier at all, and he would no longer be the most important person in the room, which is always why he doesn't seem to like Lucifer. To fix that issue, he instead flexes the fact that he's closer to Charlie than Lucifer, so he still has a way to flaunt his power and still make himself the most important person in the room. He did all of it to piss off Lucifer because he's more important and more powerful than Alastor, and that makes him insecure.

Verdigree

The only thing I can speculate Lilith’s whereabouts from is the poster on the pilot’s clock tower that said “Resist: Lilith in Concert”, so she seems to be in the city but not talking to Charlie

Kev Rink

I think the most common theory is that while it is true that Alastor has grown fond of Charlie and cares for the Hotel's residents, he was talking all this father figure stuff just to piss off Lucifer

Kev Rink

So you felt the emotion in Whatever It Takes and More Than Anything? Are you a dad, my dude?

Kev Rink

Big reveal line: "Big talk from someone who's also on a leash"

Vex Valor

Someone told Lucifer to "get all his ducks in a row" and he said "I'll show you how many ducks I can have!"

Joey Quixote

"A couple fingers of rye" Fingers are an old-timey measurement for liquor. Basically filling up a glass to where that many fingers would be around it. "Make you laugh with an old-timey pun." I guess that means Alastor's got Dad jokes. I didn't know 100% what we were getting with Lucifer, but I was not expecting that singing voice. Breath taking.

Lazy Psyker

Alastor is 100% just trying to get under Lucifer's skin. We see Alastor is so used to having the attention/awe/fear of those around him - we've seen how frequently he uses his powers to intimidate those around him. That just wouldn't work on Lucifer - Alastor is nothing compared to him and he knows it. So instead he attacks him emotionally by amping up the image of how close he is to Charlie to really peeve Lucifer off. My guess is there's not much reason to fear Lucifer despite his power - he's not a demon or sinner, he's a good-hearted former angel and it'd probably take a lot to make him actually attack someone. I'm really curious about the "I've tried this all before" and I'm wondering if the exterminations are in reaction to something Lucifier and/or Lilith tried in the past either to redeem or empower Hell's citizens. Lucifer's fears really do stem from the thought of putting Charlie in Heaven's crosshairs. We don't know exactly how much horrible divine retribution he's seen over his long life but it's likely enough to make him want Charlie to just stay away from it. He's dealt with Heaven enough to know they're not going to listen. In the Hazbin-verse Lucifer was a Seraph (or as the show calls them Seraphim) so why would they listen to his Hellborn daughter. He's just a poor broken man really. Even the silly duck thing is likely just that he has a happy memory of showing the duck magical image to his daughter and it reminds him of her.

Eliteguard99

No, but as I've grown older (and overcome my 2 decade battle with depression a year an a half ago) I've really come to apricate kids and younger people like Charlie for their optimism and that they give a shit. Though a lot of it is me wishing my parents gave me the same sort of love Carmella and Lucifer gave their daughters.

Newage416

Thinking about Lucifer’s dilemma, it makes sense why he felt the way he did. The angels that matched him were archangels: literally the strongest angels under God. All of them plus likely God being against him, spears at the ready too, they could’ve killed him instead of casting him from Heaven. That would definitely fuck with someone’s mind. I wouldn’t be surprised if they threatened Lucifer’s family when he and Lilith had Charlie.

Kev Rink

I think they didn't show Lilith's face simply because the song was focusing on Lucifer and Charlie, not Lilith. And her face in full would distract from them

WHPGeek

To me Jeremy Jordan will always be Winn Schott from supergirl and it’s just so funny hearing him sound like this cause Winn always sounded like the youngest brother 😅

Blankie

The theory with Mimzy's shoulder tattoo is that she's either in favor or "owned" by Mammon. That's his symbol that's seen in Helluva Boss. Love all the tiny easter eggs that show up in both shows, but never see a character mix into both.

Bug Catcher Jacky

The song with Charlie and Lucifer doesn't just make people with daddy issues tear up. I have a great relationship with mine so I picture myself and him there

Anime Lover24

if you notice charlie has liliths nose

Veritsas

That was so rough hearing someone actually fall for alastor’s bs… he saw a being stronger than him and immediately wanted to get under his skin. i can’t believe anyone who’s seen the pilot could genuinely believe that the serial killer is a “sweetie” 😭

Veritsas

he was a serial killer who distinctly said he was at the hotel because he delights in watching failures. he’s definitely not a secret sweetie 😭

Veritsas

A really notable fact that I think was forgotten for this episode was that Adam specifically said that lucifer and charlie (and maybe vaggie) had immunity from the extermination. like adam was taunting that she was lucky that she was exempt. meaning that he didn’t “let the exterminations happen.” he fought to protect charlie, especially because he clearly never had a chance to take on heaven by himself. they would do the exterminations no matter what. this could be seen as him “letting the exterminations happen…” but he never had a choice. he wasn’t fighting because he saw fighting as helpless. why fight against heaven when it would just bring more punishment? there was no winning. but charlie’s showing him that winning is possible. also notably, he’s a dreamer. who nurtured his daughter, who’s also a dreamer. and he wanted to protect her from his pain. and think about it. if lilith was the one who initiated the separation, he was cast aside again by someone he loves. and it probably brought that pain back.

Vegvisir92

Incredibly hypocritical of AL calling Husk his pet looking back at this episode......

Gabe Bellgraph

The gripe with religion is correct. Humans are gifted free will, and there are rules that if not followed, lead to hell. that’s not contradiction; You’re free to choose, but every choice has consequences. Good choices have good consequences, bad choices have bad consequences. and contrary to popular belief, no human alive has the right to decide what is good and what is bad, within reason. Murder is always bad, kindness is always good. it’s humans who warp right and wrong to suit their desires.
