This is my favorite episode of the whole show. Just a perfect distillation of everything great about it, including the exact right balance between standalone fun and mytharc advancement.

I just paused watching another reactor's reaction to the Giffany episode as soon as I saw this. This is one of my favorite episodes ngl.

I'm sorry Elijah, but you constantly referring to a single die as "A Dice" was driving me insane. 😂

I'm not sure why it's un unwritten rule that every great cartoon needs a DnD episode, but I'm all for it. I've never played DnD myself, but I think I'd enjoy it, and the episodes parodying it are always a lot of fun. I think the She-Ra one is my favourite of this type, but this episode is great too. We get to see more of Ford, it has really funny jokes like most episodes, and we get some more bonding from the main cast. Also I hope you're having a great time at Moscoe's! Edit: Oh yeah I should play more Baldur's Gate 3. I played a bit but need to get back into it. My character is a tiefling bard and she's adorable 🥰

15:30 I’m sorry, Elijah, but I really don’t think that’s fair. I completely agree that Mabel was rude and a bit inconsiderate, but “bully” is a strong word. She’s not a bully, she’s just an annoying sibling trying to poke fun at her brother, and going a little bit overboard. I have one of my own who picks on me and we get into squabbles like this all the time. But we still love each other and try to be there for each other, just like Dipper and Mabel. Besides, if you rewatch the show you’ll see that Dipper pokes fun at her from time to time as well. It’s just how siblings are. Mabel does try to do the right thing, but she’s still learning to grow up. I’m sorry if I come off as over defensive. It’s probably the older brother in me talking. I’m not saying you have to like Mabel, I’m not trying to change anyone’s opinion. Just cut her a little slack is all I’m asking. Because there are more people who relate to her than you might think. She’s a fan-favorite for a reason Other than that, fantastic reaction as always. Can’t wait to see more👍🏻

You are TOO adorable sometimes with certain moments in these shows. Have a wonderful time with Mosco. Glad you got to visit her after talking about how much you missed her in your Hazbin reactions

Watching GF while your visiting your GF

I still really think you should react to the Gravity Falls shorts and the behind the scenes special Between The Pines before reacting to the finale

You’ll be glad to know that Mabel doesn’t really have another random crush for the rest of the series.

The "Contraversial 1991-1992 edition" the Impossibeast was in would have been from the era where the game developers tried to make the game cooler, so thats probably another reason its contraversial.

I've played Dungeons and Dragons for 20 years, starting when I was in me teens. It's how me and my lifelong friends have stayed in touch for so long. The first edition I played was 3.5 (so damn math and rules heavy) played 4th ed for like a year before venturing off to other TTRPGs then we've been playing 5th ed since 2015. Also fun fact: The creator of Gravity Falls, Alex Hirsch has never played D&D in his life and has no idea how it's played. The fact that he and the crew got it so right in this episode is despite that is what makes it so hilarious.

The Infinity Die doesn't remind me of Jumani so much as it reminds me of this other movie called Zathura: A Space Adventure. Like Jumani, the game becomes real, but like the Infinity Die, rolling/moving spaces and picking up cards alters reality in almost infinite, unpredictable ways and can have potentially deadly or catastrophic consequences for the players. It's been a while since I watched it, but I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Jumanji/Jumanji-esq movies. 👍🏻

Marisa Maribel

It helps that Jumanji and Zathura are sister series, to the point where Jumanji boards had a Zathura board on the other side when you flipped it over. And this was in the 90s, years before the movie adaptation of Zathura came out. So it makes sense that both movies have similar vibes.

I'll have you know, there's no such thing as a 38-sided die! (Of course, that just adds to the joke.) I do own a 24-sided die and a 30-sided die, though...

Ford is easily the dumbest smart person alive. You'll find out in a later episode just how foolish he can be. Poor containment for omnipotent dice is just the tip of the iceberg. And for all his idiocy, an argument can be made that Stanley is the smarter twin. He did rebuild the portal singlehandedly after all despite having absolutely no schooling on the subject.

Joey Quixote

Yup. That was the 90s. If they couldn't sell it, they made it rap. Kids love the rap! D&D player here! On and off since my highschool days. More off than on, but fairly consistently in recent years. Currently playing a Westward Marches Campaign as a Githzarai Warlock. Prior to that, a Dwarven Cleric who was keeping our band of idiots alive (sort of, the 2 character deaths were beyond my control). And for a one-shot Halloween campaign I played an overly cheerful Death Cleric who has become part of our table's lore. Every now and then I randomize Race and Class and roll up a character if the combination looks fun. Keeps the game fresh.
