Since JJK season 1 we've been getting some absolute bangers for openings

Matthew Richson

Ah yes, one of the wackiest manga in recent memory.

PKKite

Love DanDaDan. The mangaka worked under the mangaka of Chainsawman and you can see the clear influnce in the manga. Can't wait for more.

Ayan

you've probably already heard this fun fact but the guy who created this manga was an assistant for tatsuki fujimoto, the creator of chainsaw man! two other former fujimoto assistants include tatsuya endo, the creator of spy x family and yuji kaku, the creator of a popular series called hell's paradise. i think fujimoto's actually the youngest and newest to the industry out of all of them but it's nice to see what they may or may not have picked up from one another while working together

Aaron Ong

Woah! The opening is Creepy Nuts! I knew I recognized them. They did the opening (and a few tracks in the show itself) for Yofukashi No Uta! Apparently the mangaka was inspired by their music when he wrote the manga and so he got them to do music for the anime adaptation as well. I've never heard of this show but I am reeeeeally digging the OP

It's kinds crazy how many assistants working with Fujimoto popped out a hit like he was. Must've been a great melting pot of creativity happening since alot of them were digital hits too doing better than the physical manga for jump sales wise.

Oh shit we getting Goodwin Dandadan reactions?!? Lets goooooo. This came out of nowhere. What an amazing first two episodes so far.

Ian

I love dandadan- i found the manga last week and binged the entire thing in a night. I think its the perfect kind of crazy. Can’t wait to see you react to everything here!

RichiPete

I am so excited, I normally don't read manga but after the first episode I binge read the whole thing and I'm really excited for the anime to keep coming out and your reactions to it

Wolfy Fiorini

It's interesting, I can think of at least 4 separate anime that feature a haunted tunnel. I figured it must be a part of Japanese folklore or something, but after a brief google all I could find is that they think tunnels are creepy lol.

Wolfy Fiorini

Hey it's Tanjiro's VA voicing otaku dude!

Aidan Pullen

I was recommended this by a friend but hadn't decided to start it yet. This is a good excuse for me to get into it. Love your takes as always.

Turbo Granny is a "real" urban legend. They have a ton of them like that

Sunny

This is like the fourth time I'm watching this episode I've just never had VAs make me laugh this much in an anime, and I love how expressive the animation is with how the characters move as they talk

Chris Sharpe

that one scene was a little much, but tbh it’s recently pretty common for some manga to go ham on the fanservice early on to keep from getting axed bc most of it in the series is only in the first few dozen chapters. but either way, Dandadan is one of the most unique series I’ve seen and carves out such a unique identity. funnily enough, like the Spy x Family author, the Dandadan author, Yukinobu Tatsu, is also a former assistant of the author of Chainsaw Man. Tatsu is easily one of the best illustrators in the whole magazine, and I’m genuinely very glad the animation does it justice. Some authors need some time to evolve their artstyles, but Tatsu’s art is a feast for the eyes from the first chapter.

Arakis

Ecchi fanservice Edgy humour Unconventional artstyle Avant-garde opening I understand why people hyped it. I hope the story is good too.

Laggy

I recognised Tanjirou's voice a mile away

The writing has been great so far as well. Lot's of really interesting monologues. Budget is crazy on this too. Hopefully the ecchi/edginess continues and isn't just a first episode pilot tactic to get people interested.

Neostromer

Speaking of Mob, Mob Psycho 100 had dash granny in that one tunnel. I wonder if that’s a real Japanese urban legend

Perchik

Creepy Nuts make bangers. I love their first take performances on youtube.

Perchik

wtf I liked this episode so much

edginess? Definitely stays fanservice there is definitely some but nothing like in this first episode, and most of it will just be in this season (for reference there are enough chapters for about 4 similar length seasons so far). personally kinda glad since it was one of my least favorite aspects of this early section.

Emman Reed

Oh man. What a treat to come back to fresh Mr.Goodwin shows. GREAT!

tanasia

OMFG! I WAS PRAYING FOR YOU TO START THIS BUT I WASNT EXPECTING IT SO SOON!

BotheredAsh

No no, the way to a man's heart IS through his stomach. The road just starts a little lower. Honestly I watched the first episode of this and was like "this is really weird but I kinda wanna know where it's going". I can't wait to watch more, the animation is beautiful.

KuroNekoMataXIII

I was also a little on the side of hovering my cursor over the X for that one scene, but I had been hearing a lot of people talking about this series so I hung in there. I'm a veteran anime watcher who got that random VHS from someone who told me nothing about it, but I watched it because it was anime, and then was forever scarred..... in the old days it's amazing what wasn't marked as hentai, but should have been. So I was getting nervous to say the least. But I am excited for this series! And I just enjoy the Japanese VA who is known for voicing Tanjiro. In some Demon Slayer eps where he is really over reacting to the Hashira or his buddies made me really want to hear his voice in a sillier role. So I can't wait to watch this series along with you! Also, Creepy Nuts did the 2nd OP for Mashle which was soo good! It's still on my playlist and I knew it was them the minute I heard one syllable. Even if you don't watch Mashle, I would recommend listing to their song for the OP Bling Bang Bang Born. ( ^ _ ^ )b
