Karma is pretty bold to take on an adult in hand to hand combat I keep forgetting these kids are only in middle school.

The dating world is neat game theory all around. Speaking about spiritual fulfillment it's probably better to reject someone right away than to prolong an interaction out of guilt or fear. But at the same time it stings for the other person to not even give them a chance. Which is probably why a lot of people divert the interaction with lies like "I already have a boyfriend" or the Yakuza excuse here. It's less confrontational.

It's a rich, multilayered topic. I think there's a frame of mind where an honest rejection is a good thing. If it's something like... - what's best is to be with someone who wants to be with me authentically for who I really am and what my trajectory looks like - a rejection is likely to be a reflection of the other person's tastes which are a perfectly acceptable thing to have and not necessarily about me - you can't trick someone about who you are forever (and why would you want to) - someone having to TRY and WORK to like you is fighting a pointless uphill battle and going against the grain. You want someone to like you for who you are - and if a rejection actually points to something you're not, that's probably worth thinking about because - ultimately it's about being who you really want to be and then finding someone who appreciates the things that you also appreciate - so the goal hasn't changed anyway. It's not about snagging the right partner it's about being your best self Then an honest rejection is really helpful and good for you to experience. But of course that's difficult πŸ˜‚ And yeah because we fear negative reactions and it's not realistic to expect that really ANYONE is in that state of mind (if they were we probably wouldn't be so quick to reject) we lie about already being in relationships etc haha

I've fallen behind on your reactions, so I apologize if this was mentioned already, but has anyone told you about the "Extracurricular Lesson" episodes? They're anime shorts that adapt manga chapters skipped by the anime. I think you're supposed to watch them during Season 2, but I don't remember the specific watch order. Hopefully, someone else can provide better instructions. Some reactors watch, some skip (usually because they were unaware). In case this is the first time you're hearing about it, I've included the playlist. There are 8 shorts covering three stories (1 - 2, 3 - 4, and 5 - 8). https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPUyVpkkpnlsox9C6vD7fFv32IBNg-JgF
