Thanks man. This is exactly the kind of distraction I needed from election night.

jassihere

The way I’m so nervous. I really needed this distraction.

Rae W.

Like everyone else, I needed this. So much.

chachin

tomorrow is a sad day bc korra ends :(

Brimmy

I love when Varrick and Zhu li do the thing <3 its the best part of Season 4 <3

Dierane

Oh man, that Hiroshi scene gets me every time. I feel for Asami so much. I can not wait for your reaction tomorrow, props to you having the willpower to limit yourself to one per day. I think I share the opinion of all the Americans watching when I say that this was much needed.

What a great episode! Not too much to say since it was action (and the show ALWAYS delivers on amazing action) but the redemption for Hiroshi and slight redemption for Bataar was really amazing. The Varruck and Zhu Li thing was always just perfect. I'm very sad for tomorrow's reaction and I think something might catch you off guard [no spoilers of course] but maybe you'll put the pieces together! See you tomorrow man! 😢

Great scene(s). Is it weird to say I thought it was really cute when he picked her up at the end?

Elijah baker

“ Assammi gets the short in of the stick “ I think she’s gonna be just fine ...

Paul

I still don't get though why Hiroshi didnt eject himself if the switches to eject both him and Asami were together, unless he believed that killing himself offered him some sort of redemption. But why give himself up when he could have been a part of Asami's life.

hays collins

Thanks for giving me a good half hour of not thinking about the election haha

While Varrick's proposal seems almost rushed and very cringe-worthy, you know it's exactly what Zhu Li wanted. They worked together for years, and no matter how Varrick acted towards her she stayed by his side. She pushed him to be a better person and start seeing her as a valuable part of his life, even if he clung to the idea of her being his assistant a whole longer than he should have. They are my favorite couple. I also really love Hiroshi's redemption. It's so bittersweet. You see this troubled man lay down his life to save the city and the people he loves, and atone for his sins. Also Wu's singing makes me want to just walk out into Kuvira's spirit laser. Can't wait for the big finale!

Chess Red Eagle

F in chat for Hiroshi. Also damn you for putting Secret Tunnel back in my head

newairnation

Not going to lie, the scenes with Wu and Pema made me want to pull my hair out. But the rest of this episode was great. Varrick's proposal to Zhu Li was amazing, the battle against Kuvira's mech was really well-animated, and Hiroshi's redemption is one of the most heartwrenching moments in the series, even if I think that he was a bit underused this season and Asami was just generally underused throughout the entire series (still love her though). Anyway, can't wait for your reaction to the series finale tomorrow!

This was pretty graphic for the show's standards... with the crushed mech. Poor Asami

agoodwintv
>>47075973

Yeah I think by this point many of the themes and arcs have been wrapped up and now it's basically time to defeat Kuvira :D

agoodwintv
>>47076135

Yeah I always prefer characters to live if they can (you don't need to die to be redeemed IMO) but my guess is the implication was that he needed that extra second or so to finish what he was doing.

I feel like the singing in this episode is karma for me saying I don't like musicals a few episodes ago.

KJ Gaona

The singing nomads flashback was very relatable. Aside from Iroh's beautiful pipes, this show has a dodgy record as far as characters singing. I'm also having flashbacks to how it felt to see this for the first time. I know music isn't really a primary focus for you when you're commentating, but for me it's one of the best parts of LoK. Jeremy Zuckerman did an amazing job on this score, and it really comes together in the finale. Anyway, I can't wait to hear what you have to say about the Dragon Prince and Fullmetal Alchemist!

hays collins

To be honest first time watching this episode I thought Hiroshi was gonna turn evil and eject himself and leave Asami haha only for a split second though

myownzinger

I needed this also. Thank you for this. Also, your "I'm offended" after Wu's singing was a mood

KJ Gaona

Yeah, I think the timing on it just makes it seem unnecessary because they were going for dramatic effect. I do wish Asami had the benefit of not watching her dad get crushed by a big metal hand, but they clearly wanted to amp up the emotion and have somebody go down to make the danger of the giant mech a little more believable.

I don't talk about it much but I am very aware of the music while watching. That plus the action is what takes some of these sequences to new heights!

D DuB

Was watching election coverage but this is more important.

Ramon Cintron

Alot of people did not understand why Sato didnt eject himself aswell but he needed every last microsecond possible to finish cutting that hole so if he had ejected there was a chance they would have failed.

I just commented on this so ill cope paste it here. Alot of people did not understand why Sato didnt eject himself aswell but he needed every last microsecond possible to finish cutting that hole so if he had ejected there was a chance they would have failed.

Ramon Cintron

Also I compare the scene where Korra sees the water and realizes what she has to do with Katara doing the same in ATLA finale when she sees the canal water both scenes even have the music die down and you her the exact same tune play in both scenes or atleast a very similar tune

WolfWarrior623

The Legend of Korra, or it's alternative title, Asami Deserved Better. I just want good things for Asami. This is such a fun episode though, there's so many cool bending scenes in it.

agoodwintv
>>47079777

Definitely agree about Asami. She still manages to be great, despite the overall lack of screen time.

DrowsyCody

Korras water bending will never not impress me bending skyscrapers worth of water then freezeing every drop. Zhu li and varricks proposal just amazing Poor asami never catches a break. Bolin scream of pain as he and the beifongs pushed over a skyscraper is always chilling to hear

DrowsyCody
>>47076135

He litteraly wouldn’t have made it asami was on top so she gets ejected first so the time wouldn’t have mattered and he still had like 10% of the hole to cut

Ramon Cintron
>>47081296

Both parents killed by ruthless criminals hell her mom died in a robery... she really is batman

Cody Taylor
>>47076135

The way i saw it was that get them both out alive wouldn't leave enough time to finish the whole. So be ejected her so they wouldn't both die to finish it

Paul
>>47076135

Yeah but Kuvira smacked the hummingbird right as Asami ejected, they could have shown a few seconds where Hiroshi needed to be in there in order to complete the whole, but i guess its the dramatic flair they went for

Nick

Do you have any specific timeframe of when the first FMAB episode is? It’s next week right, not starting this Wednesday?

agoodwintv
>>47085440

Yeah after Korra ends (tomorrow on Patreon) I'm doing the 2 comics and then a Q&A. So FMAB will start Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm flirting with the idea of a day off :)

benj

happy to see a new korra vid as usual from goodwin while the world burns around us. what the fuck is going on right now. gonna watch this to clear my mind so i can sleep, hopefully I don't wake up to an even larger shitstorm than right now.

thevoidbender

“Wei and the other one.” THE DISRESPECT 😂

Therion

"They need a catchier name" .. Airvengers?

Ruma Risto

I love how they made Toph's grandson a (somewhat) redeemable villain.

Purple Dawn

I actually enjoyed Wu's singing. Not because it was good, but because he seemed to enjoy it, and didn't let everyone's sourness dampen his spirit.

Kassandra

Damn, I wasn't expecting that plot twist in the fruit saga
