season's 2 and 3 of Invincible have already been confirmed as well so this will return to the channel in the future

Zach F

The klondike bar debt has been pardoned for choosing this

Ashley A.

Wow, had no idea this was coming!!!

malikparah

Oh yay JK Simmons in another father figure/mentor role after Tenzin in Korra for Wan from Korra this is going to be so wholesome-OH NO

MikeWest
>>63855148

Woah. That's around a 4 bar bailout. What *wouldn't* you do for a klondike bar?

Norrin Radd

Great voice acting on this show!

R'Mani Leavell
>>63855466

For like the first 2 episodes every time Omni man spoke, all I could hear was Tenzin lol

R'Mani Leavell

Just an FYI, every episode has a post credit scene. But it isn't hard to tell because most of the time they talk over the first few credits

Nathan

Did you notice Mark is voiced by the same person who voiced Mako and his dad is voiced by J.K. Simmons (AKA Tenzin)?

Skyler Anderson

Hahaha when I first watched Invincible I was like, "Okay this is some run of the mill Justice League type cartoon I doubt I'll get into this" and then right after the end of the first episode I was like "Nvm I'm in"

Francesca White

me when Omni Man punched Mark: WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! HE'S JUST A KID AND YOU'RE SO STRONG, THAT'S HORRIBLE--- Alex: tough love :D

malikparah
>>63856018

It's not Mako's VA Mako was voiced by David Faustino and Mark is voiced by Steven Yeun but he did voice Wan

Aura Y

Did people tell you this show was light-hearted? Oh man, what a twist haha! It'll be a fun few weeks with Invincible. I'll be interested to hear the commentary on a lot of aspects of the show. Also any "favorite character" just from the first episode?

Hack

The mauler twins are my fave characters of the show

Simon Varvaressos

Pretty hyped about that show! Invincible is great! The end credit scene is pretty amazing as a 1st episode and really change the tone drastically =P

Kamolak

When you said if your dreams aren't giving you fear and making you sweat, you're probably playing it too safe, do you mean that for everyone? Whats wrong with playing it safe?

themightyabe

"Is it just me, or is there something weird lurking beneath the surface?" I love how simultaneously paranoid you've become after AoT and perceptive you are to the show's game.

bl0odm1st

Episode 2 of this show is my favorite of the season. Pumped for that!

Alexander Juárez

Alex, your expression was priceless when the savagery started! You caught the oddity with Nolan pretty early on. I wish I could have seen this series without this unexpected ending. What got me to watch the show was precisely this last scene. I didn’t know that the show existed when I watched this. Looking forward to the rest.

hays collins

"He'll be right back" HAHAHA

Kamolak
>>63858077

I knew when he said "well maybe the dad is actually nice" his reaction to the ending would be amazing lol.

Jupiterninja

I love your various names for the Mauler Twins

Emma Root

This was my first time watching something for the first time along with you, super fun! Although luckily I did hear there was some "super big plot twist at the end" so I was somewhat prepared.

Aura Y
>>63859136

Got to brace yourself for the carnage haha Hope you enjoy the show :)

I don't think there's anything wrong with playing it safe, and dreams are sort of beside the point if you're NOT safe or not taken care of, if that makes sense. But I think as long as our basic needs are met and we're dreaming, might as well dream bigger.

secretsecret

Reminder that as Red Rush was getting his head crushed, he was processing everything at super speed. That lasted hours for him.

Sage

Watching this one along side you. I wasn't expecting that level of brutality from this show. It really throws you off with how kid show looking the animation style is.

Coco XLarge

Gurren Lagann is perfectly in line with your ideals if you haven't seen it. A layered coming of age story that teaches about life. Legendary story on par with FMAB.

Nick

Look guys I think we all knew that keeping with the trend of one dark show and one uplifting show was a good recipe, and so we have arrived at Invincible alongside MHA. Both about heroes, in very different ways lmao Edit: AOT took a rest on the bench for a bit and Invincible tagged in

Nick Nangle

Immortal the leader of the guardians is an analog for Superman but Omni man is also a Superman analog just 10x more brutal and just more powerful than the immortal thought that was kinda funny

Itachi The Rouge

This is my first time watching this show and I’m gonna watch it through with you. I have heard a lot about it and I knew it was supposed to be gruesome but I wasn’t quite ready for that.. Holy hell. I don’t want to wait til Saturday but I’m going to. What a great choice for a AoT replacement. Happy Tree Friends next? Lmao.

Nick
>>63861556

Update: "No. Don't kill him. Don't kill him. Matt's graduation!" "Oh I see her powers are drugs." Firstly love your hope for that random cop at the start of the show, and his sons graduation lmao. Thank God he wasn't included in the end credits scene at least. I like how the show opens with a conversation about a father and his son, and the show continues further into that from a different lens. Mark's dad is both seemingly proud and anxious about his son's powers. Nice parallel to the start. Oh and I included your drugs comment because it made me laugh my ass off, there are no extra layers to that one for me to comment on. You know what else is a drug? This commentary

Nick
>>63864205

You just unlocked a hidden vault of memories from middle school by mentioning happy tree friends.

Ben Book
>>63860019

That’s part of the genius of the show really. It looks so much like old Batman or Spider-Man cartoons and you just aren’t used to seeing this kind of brutality in a show that looks and feels like that. I love it

Alex Begley

Red Rush was immediately my favorite character too lol 100% had to be intentional to try and build him up the most so that when he died first the stakes would immediately be set for the show. He was the one who gave the group their best chance at survival by helping them dodge Omni-Man’s attacks so once he was gone we don’t really see a way out for them. Brilliant story design

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

It was so hard to wait for the twist, you should expect the same level of violence from now on xD

Santos Luna Ramirez

“He seems like such a gentle and reasonable guy.” 💀

Dempsy

Man I love this show, the first episode is only the beginning tho. I hope you're ready.

veryohno

recently ive become addicted to reading the comics of this show and i love it so much

Anonymous

Love ur reactions ur the best!

Avincent

Omni man and tenzin form LOK have the same voice actor

Aidan Pullen

So, I'm watching this for the first time along with you. I knew ahead of time that it was real gruesome/ graphic, but holy shit I didn't really expect Castlevania level violence. This was such a great intro episode. I love the juxtaposition they made between Omni-man's seemingly wholesome parenting so far (I have a feeling it will change), and his completely unhinged bloody conquest. Really interesting. Can't wait to see more!

Jack Cas

this show is a roller coaster. and you might think this episode was intense but you are still just standing in line.

jdthebud

One thing I thought about afterwards was during the opening scene, they didn't even show the eye shot by the guard, and that was really the only blood shown. Compared with the gory ending, it's a real contrast.

7thdilemma

This is my first time watching as well, and the thought that came to me when you talked about how the show set itself up for the ending, was how the Dad telling Mark that there would be things that he'd have to do that he doesn't want to do might suggest thematically that his dad is now in that situation. Then again, maybe the setup being so clear is meant to look that way to be intended as a red herring. I might be overthinking it though. I think I might relate to you somewhat. Now that I'm thinking about it more, not necessarily a good idea, I do see how this would seem to naturally lead to conflict. It could even make friction between Mark and his dad an inevitability, and his dad's awareness of that could explain his apparent displeasure at Mark getting his powers.

agoodwintv
>>63928993

Good point, there is nothing throughout to suggest something like this will happen, except for I guess weird hints of darkness in the characters.

agoodwintv
>>63932011

Yes! I had these same thoughts and it does seem like there's the outward and obvious face to that conversation, which is Omniman advising Mark, and then the inward and darker face of Omniman maybe prepping himself...

Joey

All those conversations with his son were just a Reiner shoulder pat

T-mo

You totally trusted him because he has Tenzin's voice and an awesome mustache.
