I decided to skip around 3x1 since it's a lot of recap and double-up episodes! Didn't want to skip the pool day entirely haha

Sage

I really like how consistent the friend groups are. Like I feel like at this point I could draw a web of the friendship circles within class 1A

John Carrizales

To answer your question he started using "Full Cowling" Back in Season 2 when he learned he had too start thinking of One for All on his entire Body rather then a single part of his body. I am not sure if this is true or not as im not a manga reader but him saying "Full Cowling" is his own internal way of quickly imagining his quirk on his entire body like a Super Heros Cowl.

Vinicius Colucci

Today is monday and we are already at episode 3x2. This week gonna be good.

Warmlights

Thank you for the double drop! It was a nice surprise to get two episodes today! I’m excited to see you get deeper into this season.

Emma Root

I have the same issue when kids appear I'm first kinda annoyed but now I love them so at least in my experience they do grow on you! Just for me its usually the second watch so I guess your job is to have them grow on you sooner haha

chi hong

This opening is still the best. I remember I got in the anime right after s2 ended then to the beginning of S3 and this song got me hype a bit.

Valeri

Your excitement about the beach is contagious. I forgot about the beach scene in episode 1 and had just about the same reaction as you did to it. 😂

themightyabe

Full Cowling is the new technique where he spreads One for All through his full body instead of in a single location.

Aura Y

Onto the summer camp arc, one of my favorites! Once again, Aizawa is showing how observant he usually is. He understands that a lot of the students have grown, but there's still plenty to improve upon. Probably a few too many Mineta moments for my liking to start the season. It's a shame when characters are limited to such a gimmick, but I guess there are different cultural sensibilities

Nick

This is sort of unrelated to MHA but I've been reading Chainsaw Man (manga) recently, and now whenever I see pro heros I can only think of devil hunters and the regulations/politics of that world as well. On a side note, I highly highly recommend that manga. I'm on chapter 54 right now and it is just stellar. Plus it's getting an anime adaptation. This is honestly just directed at anyone reading lol I have been unable to shut up about this manga okay now I will watch this and give my update

AstroSeedP

Hey so it looks like you're watching the simulcast version (what it looked like when it first aired). The Uncut/Blu-ray version doesn't have those name cards pop up and doesn't have the brightness dimmed in areas with flashing lights. The name cards were actually in S2 but you never saw them since you were watching the Uncut version. If you're watching on Funimation, there should be an option to switch it, you know you did it right when the OP and ED have English credits.

Margaret

I love your constant hope in a beach training scene, makes me laugh every time

agoodwintv
>>64090764

Thanks! I think the problem is I don't know what cowling means haha. I just looked it up and it's an aircraft covering?

agoodwintv
>>64092223

Ah I see. So I do have Funimation just to have access to the show in a legit way, but I prefer to film from a download cause it streamlines a lot of problems that come with watching on an internet connection. I will see if I can find a different version

Destini

“What’s his name? Taco?” WHEN I SAY I SCREAMED

Brimmy

"is it me or is he growing?" YES he used to be a skinny tiny lil babeh why is ep 1 my fav ep? it just makes me so happy even if its a recap fdkjgndlfkgn Oh i just realized why its my favorite because its a Mini Free! episode XD wanna deep dive into the brain of someone who gets horny over water? pilot the first ep of Free! Iwatobi Swim Club XD might be an explanation to full cowling??? https://anime.stackexchange.com/questions/47882/what-does-full-cowling-mean Ah yes hello season 3 and the every episode telling us on screen the name and quirk of EVERY. SINGLE. CHARACTER I forgot Kota get's introduced in this ep he's such a good boi i love him

MikeWest

Good call. And yeah, I thought the slice of life stuff would really pale in comparison to the big action setpiece episodes, but tbh, now, I just wanna tour Venice with Momo's fam. Edit: I feel like I just got put on a watchlist.

Absolutely, chainsaw man is definitely one of my favorite mangas! It’s able to mix the darkness, complex themes, and complete chaos in an amazing way. You are going to be in for the ride of your life as the rest of the story is a goddamn masterpiece. You should also read fire punch, it has the same author and it’s amazing in its own right.

Kamolak

do we get a beach episode of goodwin when u go?!

NitrousOxide19

one of the most frustrating things about this anime is the recap episodes. the true first episode of this season already does a great job recapping all of class 1a's quirks through that forest scene. i think they have to make 1 every season because of production obligations and its a shame. regardless, this season is probably my fave and that OP always gets me hyped. cant wait for future eps

benj

This is definitely my favorite OP of the show. Song is a total banger and the visuals match it so well.

ComicalSkate

Yes! Best Opening is here! One of my favourite anime openings period, I think. It just gets you so hyped. The song is an absolute banger and goes with the visuals so well. And it teases just enough without revealing too much. So good!

Nick Nangle

Bakugo literally won’t accept anyone except kirishima as his friend 😂

Erodoehtthewanderer

Hey! So i know you have a lot going on but if you are looking for another anime to watch at some point I would like to recommend one called RWBY (pronounced ruby) it has many themes and ideas that I think would be interesting for you to dive into, the action is great and while the first few seasons are a bit rough (it was made by a very small group) animation, visuals, and other aspects get better and better with each season. Also what is unique about this show is the music is HUGE in regards to plot, characters and passing info on. If I may suggest start with the character color trailers (these are concept/introduction trailers for the show) here is a link to all of them. I really hope you check it out at some point I think the messages and themes of the show would be right up your lane. RWBY all character trailers https://youtu.be/51c7jtgfPe8

ComicalSkate

While it is a bit weird that they gave us the fanservice immediately after making fun of Mineta for doing such a thing, it still gave us some golden moments. Such as the fact that Hagakure is just an invisible outline in the water and the moment exactly proceeding it where if you pause you can see Kota make the funniest face.

ComicalSkate
>>64096198

An Kirishima is tough enough to endure any insults from Bakugo. Almost as if he was tough skinned lol

Revin MacGrath

Nothing like a grown ass woman telling a group of 16 year old boys she wants to groom them. Her and Midnight would get along. I get it's a cat pun but... Idk that scene was cringy af

SirLagginton

So something that gets to me. Can someone explain how Deku lost to invisible girl at the fitness test? Like... she's invisible, at least Deku threw his ball super far.

Skyler Anderson

Wow! A double feature. Huge surprise and I enjoyed it a ton. A quick explanation to what Full Cowling is, is that he just means he's putting one for all throughout his entire body. He made it when he learned it at Gran Torino's place.

agoodwintv
>>64093849

After thinking about it some more I think the confusion is just the word "cowling." But after reading the forum I see I'm not the only one haha And the pool day is small but enjoyable. It made the episode impossible to skip.

agoodwintv
>>64095206

Lol yeah you hit on a big part of the frustration for me. I understand recap episodes but then they recap AGAIN in the next episode anyway.

agoodwintv
>>64096505

I would love to watch RWBY! I think Monty Oum was involved right? I've been aware of him for a very very long time

agoodwintv
>>64098974

lmao that's a good point. I can't tell in these episodes if they're subtly making fun of her or not... In episode 2 everyone is doing all these kick ass things while she's the distraction

Tyler Owens

I think you're going to love the direction MHA takes from here

Chill Potato

At this point, it’s just classic GoowinTV to make the recap episode essential viewing by paralleling our inner-psyche to Minuto, thus helping us understand ourselves on a deeper level.

iaani

This was my favorite OP, until I heard the next one.

Bloodchronism

Mineta's finally getting too much? Welcome to the club

Karsten Hase

...im like ... Ida get a shirt! .... i cant think straight... BadummTss

Aidan Pullen

Hooray! My favorite OP! It's so funny to me how attached you've been to the beach training stuff. I also think it's interesting that you've taken so much time to support and wish the best for Mineta. So many people (me included) just sorta let the tropes happen but you started deconstructing him from the beginning.

Aidan Pullen

Monoma says anything: "dude let it go!" yeah..... good luck with that one.

Sam B
>>64098114

There is quite a bit of cringe going on, especially with fan service of teenagers... it's an amazing show but certainly has some questionable content.

Nick
>>64111280

I'm learning to appreciate Monoma's pure spite and hatred towards Class A lmao

Jacob Keyser

as far has i can rememer that is as bad as Mineta gets

agoodwintv
>>64101089

Haha you never know... you never know... The Korra recap episode was one of the most memorable episodes of the show for me

Jev Cor
>>64160914

Yeah I think around this point in the manga is when season 2 was blowing up to be massively popular, more eyes to the manga probably brought some pressure to clean up for mainstream.

Jax

"Full Cowling" is when Izuku uses OFA over his whole body simultaneously at 5%. It's what he learned when he trained with Gran Torino.

Fredo_Credo

After Selim I can't trust the appearance of any kid like that lol

tanasia

this opening, the second, and season 4s first are the best openings imo
