(I promise I’ll get off my train of thought next episode. But this run of episodes has a lot of Kirishima/Bakugo moments and I’m sorry but nothing is so cute as a grumpy boy falling for a sunshine boy.)

This season is too good man. This show has some wild up and downs for me, with some arcs being geniunely bad to than this arc being one of my favorites in all of anime. Also, any inside info or hints you can give as to which show your leaning to watching next?

All for One and All Might both know the other is incredibly damaged. Which means neither are really at their full power. So that fight they had 5 years prior happened in a place that is probably not there anymore. If you can imagine both is these dudes at their full strength. It's as if the whole superhero story of the show happened years prior and we're just seeing the end of two massive titan's careers. Both Deku and Shigaraki are the new blood and they still have a long way to go. We're sort of in an intermediary time as far as the story goes. Also the last line of the episode was meant to raise an ear, we've heard that surname before. Oh also I love every reactor's journey with Best Jeanist: "HA! That dude has jean crotch face! ... Aw, shit JEANIST is the BEST! ...Wait... what happened to Jeanist? Stop the episode and answer my question, where is he and is he okay??"

I really love the parallels they set up in the show. Even unknowingly or subtly, they've shown both the UA students growing as a hero, and Shigaraki and crew growing as villains. I think the hero-villain dynamic in MHA's society is super complex. I think it's right to say that there will be more grey area than true villainy or heroism, should be interesting to explore. Can't wait for the next episode!

It's super insane how like... Both All For One and All Might are so much weaker due to near fatal injuries they gave eachother in their last fight, and they're still vastly stronger than anyone else. Makes you wonder what that first fight was like and how All Might ever managed to keep it a secret lmao

In all seriousness though, I love the saving Bakugou scene and how it brings light to the relationship he and Kirishima developed since school. There's so much complexity that goes into a society built on heros and villains so it's cool to see you analyze the show from this deeper aspect when the show doesn't expand on that blatantly until later. Great episode overall and I'm excited for next episode on Monday!

Not sure if you've realized, but All for One doesn't have eyes or a nose. He only has his mouth.

One really interesting thing about the character development in this show is that you don't see the results as soon as it happens. It's very realistic in that way. The characters absorb information from all these different sources and process it slowly or incompletely at first, test out the results of that processing, correct, etc. Obviously you see it most with Deku, but also Bakugo, Todoroki, Ida, Uraraka....they may have experiences in one season that shape their actions two seasons later.

I find it fascinating how much insight you have on Bakugou, I didn't really start to get him (or like him, for that matter) until the end of this season. On rewatch I did finally see the nuances and subtleties of his character, but props to you for seeing it from the start!

AFO is on his last legs too, his body is ruined and the portfolio of stolen quirks he once had has been greatly diminished, this is a greatly nerfed version of what their fist fight was probably like. That last hit hurt and damaged his mask, but it wasn't enough to take him down.

That’s 100% absolutely AFO there, his head was basically destroyed in his last fight with All Might 5 years ago though. so after regeneration and healing, the top of his head is just skin now basically. No defining features or eyes or hair or anything like that

I remember watching this the first time. First Best Jeanist is my favorite pro hero so that hurt. But Bakugo taking Kirishima's hand and that payoff to the close friendship the two built is one of my favorite scenes in the show.

This had better not be a Slade-bot that almost defeated All Might. Also, I totally underestimated where this show would go in terms of the gray areas of this world. If we get a 1 episode special on the nitty gritty of being a Cat Police Officer in an ever changing modern world, I might Hall of Fame this show.

What other romance/slice of life anime have you seen? I can personally guarantee you will love Fruits Basket if you enjoy fleshed out romantic dynamics and just overall really emotional source material. FB will literally make you a better person just by watching it.

Toradora is a classic, one of the best romcom's for sure. If you liked Toradora, you will absoutely enjoy the hell out of Fruits Basket.
