Heads up, the streamable link doesn't seem to have sound, YT works fine though

malikparah

is it just me or is there no sound or picture reference for the extended version

Nick

Hey Alex are you okay with people theorizing about foreshadowing in the ED or openings here? I've never seen this show but I have commentary on the opening/ending already If you think it might ruin it or something if I guess something right though, that's understandable

Nick Deano

Dude I am FUCKING with the beach training. LFG!!

ArmdVctr

Scenes like Shigure and Kyo are littered in the show from different characters.

Arnav B

To add another layer to the Kyo and Yuki rivalry, Kyo has the same va as principal Nezu in mha. So this is the closest we’ll get to Nezu vs Shigaraki!

Fabiola Macias

Killing it with the commentary! Unbelievably excited to hear your thoughts on this show!

Cassia

THE BEACH TRAINING OMG I LOVE IT!!! BRO LETS GOOO ^^

ArmdVctr

I hope you reach episode 7. That episode cemented the show for me and sets the tone of show.

He's watching the whole show chief, so unless he uhh drowns in another midnight island exploration date we gonna get to episode 7!

I want to start by saying how glad I am you chose this to be your next show, I’m very excited. More characters will get introduced soon, in fact one of my favorite things about this show is the large cast of characters. I love seeing all their unique personalities interact with each other and with Tohru. I’m especially looking forward to seeing your analysis on the family head, Akito, who was briefly introduced in this episode. Kyo’s a character if wasn’t totally sure of in beginning, but he grew on very much. I’m excited for you to see his growth. I already think you nailed his character right on the head. One important thing I want to say before you go on to future episodes is that most of the Soma’s aren’t actually blood related, they’re just a clan. I was veryyyyy confused for a few episodes in the near future cause I didn’t realize that little fact.

I just realized that the English VA for the Rat is also Shigaraki from MHA. Quite the range he has.

Jacob Keyser

I love this show so much. it made me cry happy tears

Brimmy

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I'M SO EXCITED the advice Shigure gave Kyo sounded so much nicer and jovial dubbed than subbed <3 <3

BotheredAsh

Ugh. I'm so overwhelmingly happy that you chose to watch this. You will definitely enjoy all the nuance in this series.

ArmdVctr

By the way Tohru's mom's English VA is the same Ed and Al's

Kiwee

Great reaction as always! I loved Shigure’s talk with Kyo.

Hoo boy am I excited. Don't know why, but I think I assumed Furuba would be last - or at least bottom two - of the shows you watched. I think it's because despite my enormous excitement over this remake series when it premiered, it wasn't really chosen that often by most reactors. It just wasn't a very popular show with them. Because of it being non-action anime, maybe? Anyway, needless to say, very hyped to see you watch one of my favourite stories ever. Still haven't finished watching the anime, but I read the manga all the way through and WHOA NELLY we gonna be going places...

It's 100% because it isn't action. Most reactors can't handle a slow episode of My Hero Academia without having a fit, there is no way they have the attention span for Fruits Basket haha

ArmdVctr

Alex will enjoy Rabbit. The kind of conscientious character he is fond of.

Nathan

EXCUSE? One girl living with 3 or more hot guys who all take a special interest in her is 1000000% a reverse harem. This show is as rich with female-specific fantasies as harem anime are rich with male-specific fantasies, but the thing they all have in common is the universal desire to be special and have people recognize that and show us their vulnerabilities because of that. Competition for romance or sex is merely the most obvious expression of that dynamic. One uniquely female perspective explored by this show is that a lot of women feel conflicting feelings of attraction and being threatened by men, for completely understandable reasons. In this show, the MC can enjoy living with hot guys who are occasionally naked without any fear at all, since as soon as they touch her they turn into cute animals.

Its not a reverse harem tho...you gotta watch more of the show. It comes off that way at first.

The OP's and some of the ED's are very under rated in this show. The visuals are always incredible and unique in each OP, and the music is too good. I remember picking up this show when it was airing its final season just a couple months ago, binging it and thinking to myself "wouldn't it be the greatest thing ever if Goodwin did a full reaction series to this? Too bad it'll literally never happen" andddd here we are! Your analysis on Tohru's dynamic and why they want her around so bad is so good and accurate. LOL your first reaction to Akito's introduction was fucking priceless, "A lot of trauma there, on both sides it seems...." holyyyyy shit dude. You have no idea.

Rachel Keys

Welcome to Fruits Basket also known as Trauma: The Anime lol

I gotta say I was super excited to see you were reacting to this show because I knew you could appreciate the depth that this show has. So many people i know that have watched or tried watching this show just call it hokey inspiration porn anime and abandon it. I mean it can get cheesy at times yes but its such an important anime that helps explore all sorts of mental illness's not only in adults but teenagers too. I love how genuine your interest is and that you actually take this show seriously <3
