Alex....that’s Shiguraki in the beginning. Long pale hair, big open grin and laughter in the midst of destruction, his decay power was what destroyed everything, etc. lol

benj

This is overall one of the funniest episodes in the entire show. Eri saying Trick or Treat, the principal sitting on Aizawa for warmth, Iida getting literal bars of gold as a present, Mineta just getting a picture of Aoyama. Whole episode is packed with laughs.

This is where the messy side of season 5’s production truly began… and the arc swap became apparent.

Sage

I love how we have the Christmas episode so close to Christmas

Emma Root

Denki got his own gift which was why he was disappointed, because in the dorm episode he has a basketball in his room. Also the idea that Iida just gave one of his own pairs of glasses as a gift is funny to me (remember he had a wall of glasses so he must have just grabbed one off his shelf)

When this came out though it was literally the middle of summer so it was super weird but fun at the same time lmao

That’s a bit negative, all of the people I know that are anime-only loved the second half of this season, and the arc swap didn’t seem like an issue at all. I think it’s mostly to do with incredibly high expectations from manga readers. Not to say the second half is perfect whatsoever, but it isn’t nearly as ‘bad’ as people make it out to be.

DVK

I love how it’s relatively subtle, but it’s obvious that the workstudy with best jeanist meant something to Bakugo, even though he never really showed he enjoyed it. That just feels so Bakugo-esque.

Nathan

I think it's super cute that Todoroki was such a loner at the beginning, but he's actually a soft boy who wants to spend time with his friends. On a sightly darker note, Midoriya is sort of a grounding force for him when it comes to his father, so he probably wants him around as some level of protection against the perceived threat of being "corrupted" to be like his father.

Geneva The Weeba

love how goodwin felt the need to apologize for swearing lolll

Geneva The Weeba

Just how many blond men does Goodwin simp for at this point? ERWIN SMITH (of course) Alex Louis Armstrong Mirio Togata Best Jeanist Momiji Soma edit: Soren!! How could i forget I know I missed a few. if you want, go ahead and tell me lol

Muchymozzarella

You can identify Shigaraki by his lip scar and teeth 😂 but I get it, he strongly resembles first OFA user in that shot. Can't wait for you to see the Endeavor work study bit!

Skyler Anderson

That's the first half of the season done! Are we getting the movie for the next MHA upload or are we gonna finish the season before the movie? Also Deku with the rest of them being with the number 1 hero is awesome and It's so good. The top heros need to be with the best of the best if they're gonna get stronger so it makes sense.

My excitement for the upcoming movie reaction cannot be contained.

BRus019

Heroes Rising movie up next??

Athena

aaaaaaand we're back at it with calling it "finger blasting"😂

Athena

I can't tell you how proud and excited I was when Deku showed off that small little Black Whip. I felt like a mom praising my child😂

Athena

Deku: At the time, not knowing what the future held, all I could think was, "I hope we could have a fun Christmas party next year, too." I wished that from the bottom of my heart. The first time I watched this episode: There will be no next Christmas party because you'll all be dead lol I'm always glad when they give us fun, wholesome episodes, but this type of atmosphere and Deku's phrasing truly made me fear for the worst.

Nick

Very behind on videos due to the holidays. Hope to get caught up after all the relatives leave, so... you probably won't see comments of mine for a bit peace

Revin MacGrath

Even though I admit finding it really funny myself, its really...weird how 'acceptable' it is that two grown women can consistently go on about being attracted to 15/16 year old boys. You know damn well if Vlad or Aizawa said anything that Midnight and Mt. Lady say to the class, everyone would find that awful. *To clarify I mean IRL. Most people find it funny watching them coo over teen boys. But the genders swapped would not be found funny at all.

BotheredAsh

Eri out here packing a buster sword🤣

Tiphaine Le Roux

Every day brings up closer and closer to episode 19... That's the one episode I can't wait to see you react to, it's just... so good! (it's also the episode where having read a few chapters (chapters 59-65) in the Vigilante manga could be very useful, and make the whole experience even better!

MikeWest

Re-adjusting to a non-barracks lifestyle was one of the most surprisingly difficult things I ever experienced. I think it causes a lot of people a lot of problems because they're not expecting it to be such a shock. Not having the (gender nonspecific) boys there at breakfast was/is gutting. On a lighter note, I think this Endeavor intern team might be able to end crime permanently? Imagine stealing a purse when you know that the aggregate power of 5 suns is likely to descend upon you for doing so.

ComicalSkate

Aww what great timing for this episode! I watched this when the dub originally came out back in like August and it felt weird when it was suddenly Christmas, but this was perfect!

CJ

Now you are able to watch the second movie

kingafreund

Omg, can we please make fabric puns the new running gag? Like, one pun for every episode Best Jeanist isn't in, or something? I especially loved how straight faced you were during the first one!

Shark-ira

I'm finally caught up! Now I have to catch up to the rest of the season before you end up passing me. This is such fun episode and I agree we should have gotten a whole episode of the students just celebrating. I'm really liking the growing friendship between Todoroki and Bakugou and it was also nice to see some mention of our man Best Jeanist.

Sparky Sponge

I just want to say that this arc actually happens out of order in the anime, the next two arcs were switched (you’ll know the other arc when you see it) so this happens before it did in the manga. So the reason Shigaraki has white hair and is destroying a city, the truth of what happened at deika city, why jeanist is missing, in the manga this next arc was written assuming you know all of that but the anime changes nothing so without context it can be confusing, you’ll defo just be stuck guessing a lot of the time. Hopefully after you get answers you will be able to look back and go “ohhh so that actually meant that, or that foreshadowed that, or that was a misdirection for this”

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

The endeavor family stuff is my favorite sub arc this season! Can’t wait

Fabric puns would go a long way in tying the videos together, plus it would sew shut the gap in our hearts in Jeanist's absence
