FIRST COMMENT LETS GOOOOOOO The wait is over. Goodwin AOT reactions no longer experiencing technical difficulties. Fix time: 6 months. System fully restored. Now wait a week like the rest of us had too 6 months ago😈

Alexis

Omgggg your aot reactions are back. I missed your amazing commentary for this show 😭

Megan

Let’s goooooo!! Yes there’s nothing like waiting months for Attack on Titan to come back only to be greeted by Zeke’s bare butt cheeks in the first 5 minutes of the episode.

Vali

Finally back!! Cant wait to watch

Megan

I’m a huge fan of the opening and ending. I think the ending might be my favorite so far. As for the opening, nothing can top Red Swan for me but it’s still amazing and fits the tone of the show right now really well. There’s lots of symbolism in both but I won’t get to into it in fear of spoilers.

Aura Y

Wow, didn't expect this yet, but excited for more AOT reactions! The hope for Levi's safety and health was all of us, that man has been through enough already. But definitely looking forward to what is to come

iaani

Floch's doing a really poor Erwin impression here, should've just stayed in Marley and got some acting lessons from Willy... wait

John Carrizales

Dude more Goodwin AOT Philosophy classes sign me up!!! Let's go boys!!!!

I do want to post the lyric of the ending in English here since your version doesn't have them in the subtitles and I think they're really beautiful. The title translates to "A Child of Evil" An iron bullet is proof of justice. Whenever I shot I became closer to the hero. If you close your eyes and touch it, The evil who has the same body and the same temperature. Am I not good enough and is he better for you? There was just a wall. Don’t cry about the destiny we were born with. Cause we are all free. If we have wings like birds, We could go anywhere. If we don’t have a place to return to, We might not be able to go anywhere. I don’t want to just live. This world is cruel but I still love you. Even if I sacrifice everything, I will protect you. Even if this is a mistake, I don’t doubt it. What is right is believing in myself strongly.

Charlie Collings

Considering pacing and rumours/leaks the season might not be covering the entire manga, only going to chapter 131 instead of 139 (look up 139 and 140 meaning at the end of the show) I think this season will cover everything but it’s something to keep in the back of everyone mind. I’m sure you’ve heard similar considering how controversial AOT has been with consistent realises, but I thought I should mention it.

Charlie Collings

Maybe not but a Movie is a common theory but I hope not. But I do have faith that if people are right about it not ending yet, they will add some anime only scenes, that fix the later half pacing, the Author often asks for small changes.

Khalid

ahhh I really missed Goodwin AOT thoughts ,its gonna be a great season

Geneva The Weeba

I can finally watch along with everyone instead of playing catch-up!! Let's gooo boys!!

Nick

LETS GOOO

Sumiya Mayna

Neat detail is Magath telling Gabi "why did you go behind enemy lines?" with concern in his voice, after our first meeting of his character was him ordering her to go behind enemy lines Also the opening's lyrics are fully english, and they do have a lot to say about Eren's character. The ending too but the lyrics aren't english, you'd have to find a translation

Geneva The Weeba

"I did not want Zeke ass" "Birds. Still hate them" "This show is like going to war. And this is my last one" "They could have had someone playing the triangle. And I would have been pumped anyway" "It is time for Eren and Reiner to settle this the only way Eren and Reiner know how: naked wrestling" "I trust in my comrades. And their blimps" "There she is. In all her duck glory. I'll be back with accessories" "Have you tried hugging?" "It's bizarre to think that people created their own hell through beautiful dreams" "There's that Reiner/Eren hugging action we've all been waiting for for years" "He's in a dome, then he's not in a dome" "There's two things I'm confident in in this show: that it's a time cycle, and that the Female Titan is Mikasa" "It's A and B. It's this against this. But in reality, there's C through Z" "Levi. Who's not in great shape, right now. He could perhaps use a hand. There's a parallel with Erwin" Subbing to Patreon was so freaking worth it. Thank you YT algorithm for putting one Goodwin video on my home page in May 2020, I have since become obsessed

Just ask Galliard he can give Levi a spare hand. LMAOOOO Edit: Also yeah Goodwin TV videos are a treasure trove of jokes that keep growing as it continues I love it. We're gonna get Akito glasslighting crossovers with attack on titan, i can see it already

I looked up the opening lyrics and read the ending lyrics here in the comments :) I do have some ideas but I want to wait and see where this season goes a bit.

"If I lose it all" part is phenomenal dude I can't stop replaying the opening and ending. It's such an aggressive opening but it has so much to say about Eren and many characters. In terms of visuals it's probably my favorite opening. Red Swan is my favorite for the music, close second for visuals. And for my favorite ending, it's a tie between season 4 part 1 and this one

Lysieblu

People creating their own hell. ... "the road to hell is paved with good intentions. " I'm seeing this in a new light.

Nick

Don't forget, we also got the Levi Splintered Eviscerated Face Special! With the combo Zeke Caked Up Sunday Supreme! All in the first 5 minutes, truly getting spoiled

They could alternatively go the Fate franchise route and adapt two different paths (pun intended) or endings for two movies. Very unlikely but cool to think about

Brimmy

Love the OP, didn't wanna watch it tho so i went to a diff tab the ED tho O.O there's...a lot going on...so much blood not much to say for me on the first ep tho

Steve.

What an absolute banger episode. This feels more grand and epic in scale than anything I've seen in television, but it also applies to real life in very important ways as you've discussed. I also agree with you that using the Rumbling would not be a victory, but instead a terrifying and frankly sad act of violence. And yeah I think the ending is representing Eren's "freedom fantasy", imagining a world where the walls are torn down and Paradis is abandoned because it's not needed anymore. So pumped to see you back on AoT and to hear your analysis as always.

Kotryna

I think many societies create hells for themselves, some more, some less. Ultimately (and I was just watching a video essay on Futurama about this lol) the majority of it levels out on the "hedonic treadmill," at least for the average citizen. I guess it's something that happens over time, as people get used to their reality. Though I could see someone could easily argue against all that as well. Because there are always going to be people who are not content with the current reality (Eren for example). And in this show, there's way too much turmoil going on at the moment for anyone to get used to anything. I'm reading the manga now and Erwin says something like "there will never be peace until there is one or fewer humans alive." Maybe. I mean it's hard when there's so much diversity of thought. You used North Korea as an example of hell, and I really can't comment on that as I don't know what life is like there. But my parents grew up in the USSR, which some others would argue was hell, and they still look back on those days with fondness for reasons other than just nostalgia. On the other hand, when it was just starting out, my grandfather suffered in a gulag for a decade of his young life. I'm not really sure where I'm going with all this, but I find it interesting anyway. Overwhelming actually. And what are these ruins portrayed in the ED supposed to mean? Why is Eren so happy about it? Why does it look so beautiful? We know the world is both cruel and beautiful at least.

benj

10/10 episode. Literally couldn't ask for more. Connie scene takes the cake for me easily for best moment, shit had me crying. Dude has been betrayed over and over again and actually doesn't deserve any of it, his VA performed that scene so well. The animation has gotten a MASSIVE upgrade from S4 PT1, the titan CGI looks WAY better and they are flexing way more 2-D animation which means MAPPA ain't fucking around.

MikeWest

This show is shaving years off of my life, and I love it.

Sh3nx

Glad to see you back with AoT now that the last batch of episodes are airing. I had a blast watching the series with you back in 2020.

benj

Now that I have had a day to relisten to the OP a couple more times...YEP this is the second best opening in all of AOT. I think its virtually impossible to beat Red Swan, which is my favorite OP of any show ever, but this new opening takes the second place spot for me. "COMING FOR YOU!!!" We already know Eren sheesh. That metal screamo voice sends me to another world, I feel like running through a brick wall after listening to it.

Chestnutkun

I missed your AoT reactions! Back to Patreon, and now $4 cheaper!

hays collins

Ok the OP is kinda wierd because I do not like that kinda music but I LOVE the opening

Bhupinder brar

so hyped and sad this is near the end. so disappointed in flish flosh for trash talking levi after saving him in s3.

Ijuko

Here you are, reminding me why you’re my favorite reactioner

Sumiya Mayna
