Jade

Watching this series again and mans got the plot immediately lol "He's bottling things up? Is that what that is?"

benj

GET READY, WAKE YOUR PSYCHE UP MOB

benj

Wake up babe, new Goodwin reaction series just dropped.

Nick

Mob Psycho 100 is great because it finally asks the question "Why do adults insult and beat up middle schoolers in shonen?" It's also the only anime I know of to use a kazoo for multiple songs in the soundtrack and make it sound good

Gonna have a lot to say for this series!!! It's in my top 3 anime and means a lot to me because my brother introduced me to it

KD

Mob is by the same writer as one punch man, not sure if u knew

Slothy

Glad you mentioned it, Reigen's design is inspired by Onizuka. Look out for the infamous over the top Onizuka reaction faces :)

Jake White

Yessss finally! So excited to watch this in a little bit lol. Already know you’re gonna adore this series because of its emotion and character depth

KuroOberon

didnt realise this was coming today, cant wait to get stuck in!!

Nick Heiney

One of the dubs that is good.

KuroOberon

also this dub is great! every character is voiced so well in english, couldnt ask for more!

Lysieblu

Ah pocket salt... I love this series let's go!

benj

The series intro to this show is such an incredible tone setter. Does a great job at showing off just what you are in store for in the future of this series, literal GOD TIER 2D animation and fight scenes that rival the best of the best anime has to offer. This is a true passion project from studio Bones, same studio who made FMAB and MHA, and based on your total love for those two shows I am gonna go out on a limb and say this series will make it a hat trick!

meg

ahhh I love this show sm!!! It's so cute and wholesome

Brimmy

I think the reason i never started this myself is cuz i don't like the art style XD we'll see how far my attention span will let me keep watching

Nick
>>78875994

Not to mention the themes it dives into while balancing great humor and action is like a golden trio combination. It really does it all. Rare gem

benj
>>78876264

yea the artstyle was the only thing keeping me from starting the show a long time ago, but when it won the poll I just had to watch it. I still don't really like the backrounds or character designs, but the Action makes up for it. Some of the best animated fight scenes I have ever seen.

Nick

I'll always love the fact that they use the narrator for serious exposition like at the beginning talking about spirits. Then they use the same narrator for all of Reigen's special moves as if he's unleashing a truly powerful attack

Kotryna

YES! So excited for this one! This series has a lot of heart and there will be lots to talk about. I also loved the animation right off the bat, I think it's so fun and dynamic. And yes that was One Punch Man on Reigen's phone :)

Kei

Actually i just started watching this show last month, and i haven't seen any reactions from other channel, so this is my first time watching the dub with Goodwin. And damn, Reigen's voice in the dub is really good! Especially since he's one of my fav, so this is even better

benj
>>78877437

I'm in the exact same camp except I only watched it a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the dub isn't too much worse than the sub, but honestly other than Reigen the original japanese voice acting wasn't particularly memorable.

ErrantSara

I hope i can get used to the art style, i've heard a lot of good stuff about it, just i cant with the style (yet?)

Andre Tan

Btw there are some episodes with post credit scenes although I can’t remember which ones, but maybe you’ll catch them if u stick around after the credits

Geneva The Weeba

I know, I know it's really long, BUT I'M SO EXCITED "Really colorful, really unique. Sorta psychedelic," "I just know that the opening is hype," (DARN RIGHT) "They're fighting LSD demons in some kind of cosmic battle for the universe," "He's got a menu. Very professional," (God, I can't wait for Goodwin/Reigen interactions) "I really like this guy. [...] our first example is this like Onizuka looking-used car salesman feeling-dingy, office having-blond guy who just blasts all over that guy's ego insulting his girlfriend's face," (The legend of the Goodwin Series Blond Boy shall live on again, in the slim chance there was any doubt about Reigen's claim to the title) "You're one misstep away from the depths," "Don't you hate that feeling when you're trying to, like, hustle people for money and someone's gotta apply common sense?" "That is, admittedly, a butt on his face," "It's the ghost that exists in you," "Made you more delicious," "NICE HAIRCUT! I like it," "The student who VASTLY surpassed the master. Immediately," "Who knew that counting numbers consecutively could get me so pumped?" "Never change, Reigen," (FIRST EPISODE AND WE'RE THERE IN THE REIGEN FAN CLUB AS IT SHOULD BE) "Ugh, *bloggers*," "Whatever happens, we will throw salt at it. It'll be fine," "Internships be like:" "Bananas man, how many lives have they claimed?" "He just does it all, this kid," "Another thing he brings to the table is salt. A lot of salt. He seems to always have that in hand,"

Jake White
>>78875272

Also, yeah Mob isn’t your typical battle shounen series that basically boils down to “story of how protagonist went from weak nobody to strong Chad” lmao. It’s much closer to OPM’s journey of the protagonist just being ridiculously OP from the start and rather than focus on training or strategizing, it can be more about the character’s personal head spaces and motivations/driving factors, etc.

Nick
>>78881137

People have questioned the Reigen Arataka salt splash technique when tested against real life problems, but it actually turns out to be very effective. Throw salt at your late essay assignment, the paper will eventually get worn down and you can say it got destroyed in a freak accident. Throw salt at anyone during a disagreement, it burns their eyes and makes them stop arguing.

Aidan Pullen

This is one of those shows that actually has a really phenomenal dub. Especially Reigen, he's gold.

benj

Ok yeah…first impression on the Dub…Its REALLY good. Still prefer Reigen’s og va but everything sounds great! I’m so HYPED! Mob and Demon Slayer at the same time for a good while now. Two just incredible shows, at the very least both are undeniably entertaining every single episode.

I know your a huge sub supporter, but I’m glad you were able to enjoy the dub! I also generally prefer sub (Mob included) but as far as dubs go, Mob really is top tier and does a good job capturing the feelings the original tries to convey

Keegan Brakhage

this mangaka loves making fun of anime hair lol. his first protagonist is bald in one punch man and then his next has a bowl cut in mob psycho

Will Watches

Justice for pepper girl 😤 I’m sure she has a great personality

Lewis H

Yaaaaas I've been waiting for this. It's such a good show with actual character growth that is a vocal point of the show and helps drive the story.

Kamolak

<3 I'm completely here for this amazing journey.

benj

Aw man, ik this isn't Mob related but you were SO close to 1,500 patrons last month! Pretty sure that was a new high for your channel, although it may have been higher during peak AoT days.

Skyler Anderson

This show is such a good wholesome story. I'm so happy to be here for 2 separate shows that I love. Mob is such a good wholesome story that has some good deep themes that you'll be able to latch onto. In other news, you can find My Hero Academia: World Heros Rising (3rd Movie) on 9anime and some other sites subbed at this point so idk when you plan to watch it but I'm super excited to see your reaction to that movie :)

Nick
>>78923200

In other news though the YT channel has been having some pretty steady growth (at least I think) because of the latest AOT season, and I've noticed new commenters on the other series

Chris Sharpe

As someone who is watching at the same time as Alex, I feel like table salt will be a running gag in these reactions. Also, I’m guessing you’ve seen OPM?

benj
>>78940619

Based on the first episode it would appear the table salt is just a running gag within the show lol

Christo Badenhorst

Hell yah - not only do we get Demon Slayer we get Mob Psycho tooo

benj
>>78973286

Goodwin is truly blessing us with this content.

Musicisum

Gaaah darn it I knew it would be the dub :( still excited to see you react to it though

agoodwintv
>>78936387

I'm trying to decide if I should deal with the initial shock of switching to non-dubbed so that I can scratch that MHA itch... or wait for the dub

VesperQuartz15

Yes I’m so excited for mob psycho. Actually I really enjoy the English dub even the Spanish Latin America it’s really well done
