Demon Slayer and To Your Eternity also coming gradually as they finish exporting / uploading :)

I love that in Mob Psycho 100, the protagonist doesn't work on his body to get stronger and defeat his enemies, but rather because he wants to be a healthier person overall (and maybe catch the eye of his crush) It's a nice subversion of shounen training montage tropes

MHA: "I want to become the best hero and defend the world with a smile on my face!" Mob Psycho 100: "I'm awful in every class subject, but I like this girl and feel like I'm missing out on life."

Thank you for this bunch of videos, Alex. Have a great day/night!

Mob saying "Can't. I've gotta go pump some iron," reminds me everytime that one of the reasons I love this show so much is that you can always work on what you want to, or your weaknesses, rather than focusing exclusively on pre-existing strengths. (Plus it reminds me of when I ditched an acquaintance's birthday party halfway through bc it was deadlift day and proceeded to hit a PR LMAO)

Chris Sharpe

I might be crazy, but Reigan reminds me of Roy Mustang.

He's got that same laid back attitude but also can be serious when he needs to be

Hey Goodwin, I know Mob Psycho and Demon Slayer are (kind of) short shows, so do you have your eye on anything for after? I know it will probably come down to a vote though. Still, I think you might like Steins Gate (and subsequently Steins Gate 0) and Castlevania, both also shorter shows with a lot of stuff you can dissect. Hunter x Hunter is basically perfect, but it is kind of long and would take about a year to get through, so maybe get a couple smaller shows out of the way first.

Stephen

the subtitle after mob passed out was "Mob's Stamina Level 0%" lmao

"He's doing okay, he's...participating," "Usually people who are trusting are trustworthy," "Yeah, who would want to improve their bodies? Geez," (I'm decently fit, and this made me C A C K L E) "Oh my god he's beautiful AND kind. Who is this specimen of a man?" (The Body Improvement Club is absolutely amazing) "While personally I find track to be the absolute worst, and solo running to be extremely tedious," (ABSOLUTELY. CARDIO CAN SUCK MY A- But no, really, I wholeheartedly agree with your take on fitness. It just feels GOOD to gain the strength to be able to have your body do what you want it to do) "Rather than try to take yourself, take your personality, and wrench it into a pre-existing shape, what if you allowed yourself to take its natural shape and create it and maximize it in such a way that it could seep into other aspects of your life?" "Ask him for girl advice; I feel like Reigen has it! It'll be terrible, but he has some, and I want to hear what it is," "Nothing says popularity like joining a religious cult," "I don't see any Kool-Aid, but I know they've been drinking it," *plays rock paper scissors with the midcard like he said he would but calls it 'rock scissors paper'* "I feel like this could end with Mob becoming a religious leader," (AHAHHAHAHAH) "Oh, he's a demon: he can grow, he can get more veiny. Someone's been watching Demon Slayer. He's having a lot of fun, too," "The key to success as an adolescent is to survive it," (Me, an adolescent: oh. Oh no)

Jake White

“Stomping on the stereotype that this body improvement club are just shallow meatheads” Oh don’t worry my friend, the body improvement club is one of the most wholesome, supportive, absolute BRO groups in all of anime lol

That's dedication! I resumed going to the gym yesterday and like I said immediately regretted ever breaking the habit

I think both shows will end around the same time so that will mean 1 polled show and one that I pick. I'm hoping to do something more in the vein of Fruits Basket this time and I have a few names in mind but haven't dug that deep yet. As for the poll I think HxH has a good shot :)

You're out there achieving goals and living a life, seems like you're doing a lot more than just surviving :D

Reason #75239 why I love MP100: The anime trope of kids looking much older than they are is comically prevalent. The Body Improvement Club are 13-15 years old. I mean, look at them.

benj

Yep, this series is absolutely perfect for your video style. Peak Goodwin Wisdom and life lessons are back. Three episodes in and I can already tell this is overall going to be one of, if not your best reaction series to date; there is just SO much here for you to unpack and think about it. The incredible action scene when Mob goes 100% was, by far, the part of the video you were the most “emotionless” for lack of a better word, which is hilarious when you think about how most other reactors watching this show would get the most hyped during that scene and for the rest of the episode just be like “Yeah this is cool”. Slice of life appears to be the perfect genre of Anime for you to watch, I’m so excited for whatever “Fruits Basket-esque” show you pick next to watch on here, and of course for more Mob Psycho because MP100 is, in fact, a Slice of Life anime.

Keegan Brakhage

even though when i first watched this show i was a few years older than mob, it was the most i’ve ever related to a character. every time i see that scene where everyone is asking why he wasn’t laughing i feel his pain hard

Aidan Pullen

God, mob is so relatable. I have a nasty habit of repressing my emotions a lot, and masking them with others. I've also never been any sort of popular, sort of due to the combination of my antisocial habits and my repressiveness. Seeing Mob's struggles with this stuff really hits home. I love this show because it hits on these issues in such a great, approachable way. Also, despite the fact he's a total hack con-man, Reigen is a good guy. I really like how genuinely supportive and empowering he is of Mob. That's probably why Mob still hangs out around him. Not because he likes the job, but because Reigen supports him and believes in him, and he feels special going to that internship.

Mob Psycho 100 decided to grow up and become a slice of life anime disguised as an episodic action show LMAO

Skyler Anderson

Man one of my favorite quotes in this entire show is the fact that you are the protagonist of your own life. I find a lot of struggles and emptiness in feeling like I don't matter in the grand scheme of things but it's quotes like that that give me a new perspective to find pride in the fact that my life is my story and I'm the protagonist no matter what path or impact I make. Such a great show.

Dorian Manewitz

Super insightful as always. Speaking some Zaheer wisdom near the end. “When you base your expectations only on what you see, you blind yourself to the possibilities of a new reality“

benj
>>79903804

Zaheer is truly the GOAT. Not a Villain in my eyes other than what he did to Tenzin and Korra at the very end of S3. Other than that, dude is just a straight up anti-hero with actually good beliefs.
