In Mob Psycho 1x4 Idiots Only Event, why would Mob want to be a God when he could have muscles?

Video links in the comments now...I see the youtube people who have been cheating the system have finally reached you lol.

God Teru is such an interesting character I can't wait to see how your opinion is formed on him

Reigan also reminds me of King from OPM. Someone with no power who’s main power is the amount of BS they can spontaneously pull out to keep the illusion.

Fun fact, the creator of Mob Psycho 100 made the body improvement club after running into some extremely supportive dudes at the gym. So in this case, it's based on real people which is so damn beautiful (even though it's exaggerated)

Chris Sharpe

I agree with what you say about talent and being special, but I think, to some degree, Mob kind of sees his psychic powers as cheating. He got it through inheritance and, to him, their presence is a cop out and he is not truly special like others. You can tell with how he describes them, seeing them more as a tool than an innate trait. This is why he doesn’t internalize himself as being truly special. That his psychic powers are a tool, or a trait, like hair color as opposed to a talent that makes him special. I think there is logic to this, as shown with Teru here, and who sees himself as infinitely superior because of an ability he was born with. If everyone had psychic powers it might be different. I feel that Mob more so needs to appreciate his personality and other aspects. His good conscience, humbleness, and restraint being some of them. So I kind of agree in the sense that his current behavior is not necessarily healthy. Again, I think the abilities themselves are not what makes him special, if he just used psychic powers for everything, like this guy, I think it has no value. Like how muscles mean nothing unless you take into account the work you took to get it. With the psychic powers, it’s less about the work put into it and more how he chooses to use them. And what I truly admire about Mob is the fact that his psychic powers can immediately make him popular if he wants to, because of how other people would view them, but he chooses not to embellish that. This could be due to naivety or due to his crush’s reactions but I think is at least somewhat the original idea. The only problem being that, in the vacuum of the lack of admiration for his powers, he chooses to value a lot of unimportant things for unimportant reasons (subjectively).

"Tohru? I mean, Tohru will destroy you, that's true. Destroy you with love," "Episode 4: Idiots Only Event. [...] Good to know that I'm invited, at least," "Sailor Moon, Derek Jeter, Bruce Lee," "What's up, best, kindest bro? That we all love and are looking forward to development of," "I perform this kind of exorcism *every day* while making thumbnails. I exorcise my physical imperfections," "He became God. Mob became God," "'Apparently he's fast', 'Has a lot of secret fans'-like me!" (idk, man, I've told pretty much everyone in my life about the wonders of this channel. I'm a fan, sure, but I wouldn't call that 'secret' lmao) "But of course, it's hardest to see your own gifts," "You don't need math. Throw it away. Throw the whole-just drop out. Throw out your notebooks-" "They're good-looking, they're generous, they're conscientious, AND they don't skip leg day? Speaking of becoming Gods," (SO TRUE. The Body Improvement Club is almost everything I aspire to be) *in playing rock-paper-scissors with the midcard* "What the hell was that?! POINT? That's cheating. Was that rock? I win. By disqualification," (Not a quote but I just had to say, I am a girl) "He's got...*ABS*," "This hurts to see. My heroes. Busted out like pieces of paper," "That was an excellent uppercut. Most excellent," "Accomplishment is best enjoyed when it's not luck, it's connected to your thoughts and actions,"

Another show, another classic Goodwin "Just drop out of school" moment lmfao. You're not wrong tho, who needs math when you can literally manipulate physical matter with your mind. You are the math, you can create your own equations and theories.

Imagine being able to bend matter but not knowing what 2 + 2 is

That's a good point. I feel like it's ultimately sort of an empty feeling to try to lean on things one was born with for self identity, since it's all just luck. But maybe one way forward is something like a hybrid of natural talent and hard work, putting one's gifts into something personally selected and hard fought

Onigawara reminds me of that clip of Jeremy Clarkson saying "Sometimes my genius... it's almost frightening".

Geneva The Weeba

I think this deserves its own comment lol I am a girl.

I think some people on patreon have some filler in the body of the posts so it doesnt show through. Im not sure why Patreon has any of it visible anyways. Youd think just the post title would be enough

Love patreon for giving a space to support creators...but holy mother of christ is it just a god awful website. The UI is straight up dogshit, so many issues with it I don't even know where to start lol.

I guess he's already watched that show? I thought it was on the poll.. Oh well. #ruint

Add “Math” to the list of sensitive topics you can’t make jokes about without multiple people getting legitimately upset LOL

Imagine if the Body Improvement club met Armstrong. They’d just be flexing and giving compliments. Btw, love the quotes.

Crystalrose

Kei
