Cursed Energy: The energy of curses. Ignited through negative emotion. Wielded properly through controlling those emotions. Any Jujutsu Sorcerer can use it to fight with in its raw form. Different people have different amounts. Yuji's insane physical skills cause his cursed energy to lag behind his attacks which results in two impacts. The physical one with a minimal amount of cursed energy, then the rest of it catching up. Cursed techniques: Abilities that can be used by expending cursed energy. These are innate, not something you can learn. You're born with them and can only improve them over time. (Nobara's Resonance, for example). Gojo has said Yuji will eventually get Sakuna's Reverse Cursed Techniques: Mentioned, but not yet explained Innate Domain: Areas of cursed energy created by curses in their image. Domain Expansion: Technique that creates a powerful Innate Domain with special rules. Pact: A binding agreement (with self or other) that either punishes those who break it or reward those who abide by it. Revealing your technique is a universal pact between you and your opponent that makes your technique more effective (Nanami explained this in episode 9, but you missed it). Nanami's overtime is a pact that seals his energy during 8 working hours but makes him extra powerful if he's still working after those hours.

You keep getting surprised by people revealing their techniques to the enemy but Nanami explained before that doing so makes your technique more effective

The detail in Junpei telling his mom that he asked her to quit smoking is always so sad to me, since he had PTSD from getting burned with cigarettes by his bullies, that he asked her to stop

Everyone misses Nanami’s explanation because there’s so much going on during that scene, which is unfortunate cuz revealing your technique is one of my favorite aspects of the fights in this show lmao

F’s in the chat for Mama Yoshino, one of the realest anime single mothers out there. She aint deserve this

This is part of why I like Yuji as a protagonist. While he does have that amazing pure heart like Deku and Tanjiro to a degree, he just kinda feels like a normal teenager. Might have something to do with the fact that the setting is literally modern day Japan, but still. Just his general interactions make me feel this way make me feel this way, though I don’t really like to be that guy that’s like “he’s not like oThEeEeEr shonen protagonists”, but I definitely value these differing traits. Kinda hard to put into words.

No problem. One last thing I think you missed: Except for special grade Sorcerers, Jujutsu Sorcerers are more powerful than the most powerful curse in the grade they're in. Not equal. A grade two Sorcerer is more powerful than the strongest grade 2 curse, for example.

I need the next ep NOW. lol

I KEEP FORGETTTING TO MENTION THAT KENJIRO TSUDA VOICES NANAMI Who voiced Hannes :3 He's got that super distinctive voice a high pitched whiny growl if u will

I think of cursed energy a lot like nen from HxH, everyone has their own specific style/technique that is empowered by the base energy that any curse user has. Also, I'm not sure but I think that cursed techniques become stronger when you explain them to your opponent. Since curse energy is a manifestation of "mental whateverness" if the opponent knows about the technique it adds to its realness in effect.

The saddest thing to think about is that when Junpei found his mother split in two he panicked and stuffed her with ice to try and help her in some way... Also, Sukuna's finger was planted by Mahito and Geto

This power system is definitely more complex then most. A lot of it seems inspired by Hunter x Hunter's power system, which is actually even more complicated, but once you understand it, is actually very simple. JJK is pretty similar, once you have an understanding of the terms and know what they mean, it will make understanding powers introduced in the future much easier to comprehend.

Haha I was wondering if someone mentioned hxh After he mentioned the jjk power system being the most complex so far I immediately thought "he must not have watched hxh yet 😅"

“It’s the hooves for me,” “And Japan canal feeling intensifies,” “CLOSET BADASS,”x2 “Some of the best friendships are media friendships,” “‘Because reasons’. The best explanation, always passes,” “It’s alright. Badasses can cry too,” (*ahem* March Comes in Like a Lion) “Ay, what a-a mom after my own heart,” Junpei’s Mom: Hey! That was super cool if I say so myself. What a brilliant quote. Way to go, me! Goodwin: I’m impressed. I liked it. Even if it’s not the whole truth, at least it’s thinking. (I, being the quote girl, was thoroughly entertained by this exchange lol) “Internal darkness comes not from one big decision, but from a series of tiny ones that cross key lines,” “There are a lot of lines that are hard to uncross,” “It’s not him. He didn’t do the finger,” “There’s nothing cute about Jogo,” “Tears of the beloved: the best spice?”

Some people are born with the ability to see curses. Some people are born with cursed techniques carved into their bodies. Cursed Energy is the manifestation and manipulation of negative emotions. It can be used in its raw from for kinetic based feats like Yuji or Midoriya. Some people are born with techniques, similar to quirks, that allow them to use their cursed energy to fuel these born powers. You can set limiters on your abilities using pacts in order to receive boosts in power if meeting certain conditions. Explaining your technique in detail is a pact, it puts you at a strategic disadvantage but greatly boosts the power of the technique in return. Same with Overtime, he nerfs his power while working in exchange for a big boost in energy if he manages to still be working past the set time limit. Extremely gifted curse manipulators have the ability to form Innate Domains. This is an extremely difficult and rare ability that only some people manifest(examples: Gojo, Volcano head). These Domains buff the user’s abilities and make their techniques always hit. The only reliable way to counter these domain attacks is directly blocking them with lots of cursed energy or enacting your own domain. People like closet badass Manager Ijichi can manifest a weaker and more limited cersion of a domain known as a barrier. They lack advanced techniques but can form a type of shielding/camouflage known as barriers depending on the skill of the user and the type used. Ijichi’s just disguises cursed events from the general populace.
