When you had your realization during "Free", I will say you're not the only one. I also somehow didn't expect it to be a musical but was struck midway through that, Oh Shit, it absolutely is.

Is it weird I didn't like Takedown until it was reflected back at Rumi?

JoeJoeBinks97

I went to the Sing-A-Long version in theaters back in August with some friends, and it was so much fun! All the audiences was singing and quoting lines from the film in sync, it was amazing.

Spot on that this is just a musical and your reaction was exactly mine when I first watched it. Definitely not too old for this!

Alex

I'm so happy you watched this and enjoyed it!

Zac

Absolutely love this movie. When I first decided to watch it, I was just planning on keeping it on my second monitor while doing other stuff. Once that first song hit though? Main monitor, nothing else going on, completely fixated throughout. My brother and I, on a later watch-through, also ended up with a Shrek comparison (inspired by this one music-focused YouTuber called Sideways). Was in no way expecting to hear someone else do the same.

THANK YOU! I couldn't remember why that "OOO AH!" was triggering my nostalgia. Carmen Sandiago... Good god that wasn't just a different time, that was a different reality entirely.

Kaitirex

I love that you watched the whole thing!! Thank you! What a delight to revisit this with my favourite YouTuber. Also, thank you for making this series so I can keep up with the youths.

This was amazing seeing Jeese's reaction. I've been waiting for him to review this! I totally agree with all of the things he has said about the entire movie and it's great that it's for everyone and not just for kids. It hit every generation that everyone can relate to with so many themes!

FFXIV people have been making FF characters dancing to the Saja Boys songs. They’re so good.

Trimae Telic

"You would think the person from Burbank would be the demon." I stopped watching just because that made this ex-SoCal gal nearly hurt herself laughing.

Ky McKenna

I'm a millennial too (technically at the cut off) and I adore this movie. You're not too old Jesse! Glad you enjoyed and reacted to this :3

Mack

I'm sure someone mentioned this in the YouTube comments but fun lil tidbit! For most of the movie, most of the characters are animated at 12 FPS, on the "on" frames, akin to Spiderverse. However, the Saja Boys are animated at the full 24, indicating their more inhuman nature. During Free, Rumi's animation switches to 24 FPS as well, and I believe remains that way for the rest of the film.
