Exclusive: PlatinumGames Project Rumoured To Be Cancelled (Patreon)

Rumours have been flying over the weekend that Scalebound, PlatinumGames' ambitious Xbox One and PC game, is facing severe development issues. I have been monitoring the situation closely and the claims being made from inside sources linked to Platinum and Microsoft are ranging from it being in "deep trouble" to it being outright cancelled.

One source of mine claims that an announcement about the project is expected to be delivered later this week. We will likely learn about its future then.

The project's leads, JP Kellams and Hideki Kamiya have both been curiously absent from Twitter, a site on which they are regularly active, since the game was rumoured to have been shut down at the very end of 2016. Another observation that doesn't particular bode well - the Scalebound social media feeds haven't been updated since September.

The future of Scalebound seems uncertain and I want to wish everyone at PlatinumGames the best of luck with it.
